Fantastic experience: I have known Dr Mike Black personally, for at least 25 years, probably, nearer 30 years. To know Mikes work, is to know him as a person. In all of that time, Mike has been Totally Professional, his dentistry goes beyond skill, it's an Art Form.!! I know this personally, as a few short years ago, there came a time when all of my teeth (uncared-for in my youth I'm afraid) needed MAJOR work. Mike involved me personally in all facets of a long but necessary process, with empathy, friendliness and professionalism. Not only has the extensive work Mike undertook, changed my facial expression/my smile, but it's honestly, changed my Confidence and PERSONAL SELF-ESTEEM. I cannot thank Mike, his assistants and all the staff at Nth Shore Dental enough, for their unfailing Professionalism, communication and friendliness. Fantastic experience: I came into this dentist with a billion cavities and terrible fear of needles, and I've received incredible treatment and patience from my dentist. Dr Winterburn is the greatest, she talks me through everything she's doing and really helps me through my anxiety, whilst also still performing her work quickly and effectively. The receptionists are very professional and personable, and it's a very comfortable environment. 10/10 ✨

Fantastic experience: I’m not one for reviewing, but I had such a positive experience here. I got a single wisdom tooth removed at another dental clinic last year, and hands down this was the most painful and worst experience of my life. So I looked for a new dentist and was recommended North Shore Dental by a friend. Here I got 3 wisdom teeth out, and from the initial consultation, prescription and the day of the surgery it couldn't have went any smoother. Everything was done hassle free, and the surgery was as painless as they come :) I had told them about my previous experience and they went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after. Genuinely a very positive environment all around and the after care/healing went problem free too. Scott and team were amazing, I'm so happy I picked them and genuinely couldn't recommend them enough. You've definitely gained a new regular client.

Fantastic experience: I visited Dr Charmaine for a regular cleaning and she ended up identifying the root cause of an issue I’d been dealing with for a while—something even a few other doctors had missed. She was professional and friendly. Highly recommend

Negative experience: I visited Dr. Winterburn for a dental checkup concerning an abscess on 14 February 2025. She recommended a 3D x-ray for that tooth, which cost me NZ $280. As of today, 4 April, seven weeks after my x-ray, I have not received any communication—whether by phone, email, letter, or text—regarding the 3D x-ray results from Dr. Winterburn. I wrote a complaint email to her manager on 17 March, but I have not received a response from the management team. This is completely unacceptable. Patients should not be asked to undergo a very expensive checkup without being informed of the results in a timely manner. In addition, this lack of communication suggests that the 3D x-ray was unnecessary and an excessive requirement.

I have just seen Claire, my hygienist, great chairside manner. Money well invested! No complaints. Prompt service at appointment time. Good treatment.

Fantastic experience: For my whole lifetime I have hated the dentist, it started with being uncomfortable and just in general feeling like my dentist was not able to reassure me in my feelings - I love this dentist. Omaël is kind and gentle and just made me feel 100% at ease during all three of my appointments even the painful ones. Will be coming to them in the future!!

Fantastic experience: Have been seeing Claire and Gerard for about 17years and wouldn't change. The care they provide is excellent. Put me at ease and also give honest and useful advice. I also saw Toki for the 1st time recently as I needed a fairly urgent appointment. He was gentle and caring of my comfort.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many dentists over the years and all this far have made my expectations become low however this dentist has restored them, great environment, staff are lovely from the entrance through to the operating rooms, procedures are well planned and explained, it is cost effective and everyone is helpful bonus was they actually listened to my wants and thoughts to make a plan that worked around me best! Would highly reccomend this practice just as it was recommended to me.

Fantastic experience: Warm, welcoming atmosphere at the reception and spacious waiting with some colouring and toys for little kids. People at the North Shore Dental are very nice. Not intimidating like other dental clinics.I had a problem with filling that was done at the different dentist and I visited a few clinics asking for help but they couldn't really solve the problem. I saw Dr Ana today and what she did was beyond expectation. I'm so glad that I decided to go there.

Fantastic experience: I had my 6month hygienist visit this week and Toki looked after me, I just have to say what a lovely person he is! He is very professional, he knows his stuff and he's very gentle and caring. All the staff and NS dental are great to be honest, but Toki is definitely worth a mention.

Positive experience: Our experience with Suzanne has been amazing, my son is very sensitive to smells and tastes so getting work done on his teeth is hard. Unfortunately we are no longer welcome at this practice because my son was too loud during a procedure. It will be hard to find someone else as good as Suzanne

Fantastic experience: Amazing service at North Shore Dental, Browns Bay. I broke my tooth on Monday. I managed to get a quick appointment to check the damage first thing Tuesday morning. It was decided that the best way forward was to glue the broken piece back in its place, but this would need a lengthier appointment. I was lucky enough to take over a cancelled appointment and by lunchtime the work was completed. All done! Fast, efficient, professional! Thankyou.

Fantastic experience: Just had a teeth cleaning with Claire, and I’m really impressed! She’s gentle, thorough, and genuinely invested in her patients’ dental health.

Negative experience: Reminders about appointments are valued, however, when the receptionist expressed that we had not had a checkup in over a year, she was very judgmental in her facial expression and manner in which she told me this. It was not appreciated. Also, the way in which the dentist expressed 'shock' when I informed him that we did not have health insurance and would pay on the day for a procedure, was also not appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Last Saturday, I visited here for the first time because of my son's toothache. He couldn't sleep or eat on Friday evening because his tooth had been hurting for a few days. When I arrived early on Saturday, the receptionist understood our situation and recommended some nearby places. After a brief wait, I expressed that I wanted treatment here, and we were finally able to get an X-ray and checkup. Dentist Omael explained my son's condition clearly and took the appropriate steps. My sincere thanks to the receptionist and Dr. Omael for making my weekend better.

Fantastic experience: The team at North Shore Dental provide a welcoming professional service with friendly staff. They provide scheduled appointment reminders which makes life easy and have an exemplary hygienist who is the best I’ve experienced in many years. I have yet to join the dental team but will do so soon.
