Dr Rachel as a Dentist chair side manner each time has been exemplary in working her magic she is by far the number one Dentist that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND especially since I suffered from mental illness and anxiety. Fantastic experience: I have been to Samsoon Looi a few times now and I think he is a great dentist. He always explains really well what is required with your teeth; showing photos/X-ray and giving you options as to how to proceed. I myself had amalgam removal and a crown done. He is quick and efficient and makes you feel comfortable and checks to make sure you are not experiencing pain. His assistant is pleasant also. Positive experience: I recently went in to the clinic roughly two weeks ago to have a consultation done because I was sure I had a hole didn't know it was to the point it was and is near impossible to eat. They were so informative and helpful helping me make the right decision for my overall oral health. Looking forward to having this bigger removed this coming Monday.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ivan, is by far the best and only dentist I will recommend at this place..... I've seen numerous dentists over the years at this branch, half of them don't listen, treat me with respect or even the dignity I deserve , having autism and adhd. And as 27 year old mum that had severely broken and painful teeth I made the decision to have them removed. Dr Ivan, was the only one willing to do the job, he listened and understood that although I am young having my teeth removed was more beneficial to me in every aspect of life than to keep the ones I had.... some dentists did a shock horror and piss poor job. Leaving parts of fillings stuck onto other teeth, rushing me, no care, or patience. Dr Ivan gave me everything I needed. He deserves a beer, and a damn bigger paycheck. Thank you Dr Ivan.

Negative experience: Very unorganised clinic. Visited Henderson branch in mid April for my wisdom tooth was told they will send referral to surgery, they gave me pain killers it’s been over a month and they still haven’t sent the referral. Called them again to see what happened i was told they will leave a note for the doctor been 3 days no response. Smile dental patient care is very very low and they need to learn how to treat their patients especially when patient is unable to eat, drink or sleep cause of the pain they are in. Worst experience ever with Smile Dental. Totally useless.

Its a shame more resources by way of diagnostic tools are not available for those on pensions or winz benefits - i.e 3D xray imaging. 2D does not always identify the problem

Fantastic experience: Great experience with every visit to Dr Iven. He is very good in communication, which gives you a piece of mind and helps to relax. He is also so careful during procedures and does a great job. I find it quick and easy to book online with Smile, and I like their reminders and curtesy follow ups.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in this clinic. I came yesterday to get my tooth extracted and prior to coming I saw on your website that you do extractions for $40 as long as I had proof of what you guys needed which I provided. When I saw the dentist he then says to me this is a “surgical extraction” and didn’t treat me because he needed a referral from my midwife and doctor. Even if I needed the surgical extraction, you guys should have made it clear on your website that it’s not $40 for this or even informed me over the phone first. But no you guys didn’t do this and wasted my time. You guys tried to charge me $500 for a surgical extraction and then make me get a referral from my Midwife which they do not do as it’s not in there field to approve this they are not doctors!!!! Such a waste of time - Dr Nanda was the dentist I saw will never be coming back here again! Do you’re job properly and fix you’re advertising on you’re website so others don’t go through the same thing as me!

What really impressed me was how he took the time to explain everything to my son in a way that was easy for him to understand. He made my little one feel so comfortable and at ease. As a parent, it's wonderful to see a healthcare professional who truly cares about their young patients. We highly recommend Dr. Iven to anyone looking for a fantastic dentist! Also wanted to add the receptionist ladies are friendly and sweet, noticing me with my 2 toddlers and engaging with them. I also observed them care for another patients young child as they were being seen. Overall lovely experience and would 100% go again.

Negative experience: I have been to Henderson clinic to get my wisdom tooth extracted but they told me that they won't do anything till they have a payment.. I was really in pain my face was getting swollen so I had to go to work an income they were Abit of a muck around they direct debited the money straight to there account. I called up smile dental telling them that the money has been processed an approved had the proof of paperwork but there answer to me back was come back the next day as they cant do anything without seeing no money in there account by that night my face had been swollen even more an my jaw got locked went in for my appointment at Henderson clinic did the x-ray an they told me they couldn't take it out as it was to tricky for them to do, so they referred me to the hospital and other dental clinics. It was Thursday my appointment at Henderson clinic but my pain in my tooth started that Monday an Henderson clinic had to leave me with pain an swollen mouth without no prescription for Panadol. It took them a very long time to refund money back to work an income but luckily I found a dental today to remove my wisdom tooth an he did a very amazing job on it. My pain had cut down to half of the pain I had but feel alot more better that my tooth have gotten removed.. they are lovely an very kind I suggest to visit them as they are located in new Lynn there clinic is called Quality dental Clinic suggest them. The main days he is on is Wed,Thurs,Fri,Sun but open everyday.

Positive experience: It was hard to locate the clinic but once there the service was great. Iven didn't fluff and got straight to the options. I then had treatment at The Atatu the next week.

Negative experience: Visted about 3 weeks ago for a sensitive tooth and a tooth i couldnt get floss in between and a dental clean paid over $230 then told just to keep flossing it will heal itself now part of my tooth has broken off due to that advice and have to now go pay more somewhere else to get it fixed as I dont trust there dental care now. Clean was extremely painful and felt rushed won't be returning.

Negative experience: They are using cheap materials. My fillings are breaking apart! I was completely screwed by Smile Dental. Paid a huge some of money and months later I still sit with teeth badly damaged by this dentist and cannot eat properly, don't enjoy crisp chips because of his incompetence and still he would make me believe that it's my fault. I have 2 Universities looking and studying my case and also FairGo. I'm going to take these people down. I paid a lot of money and this "dentist" screwed up my life.

The filling fell out not even a month later. I came back because of the 1 year warranty and got it done and was told the next time it falls off she won’t do it again. Dr Michelle listened to my concern. I needed a filling because I can’t just whip out 2K from my arse for a crown and I was so frustrated no one was listening to me from Henderson AND Kelston branch. But Dr Michelle took me in last minute and managed to fix my tooth the very next day. She explains the risk of my filling, what to do and not to do, advice. Thank you Dr Michelle. You’re amazing and the best and very kind. Dr Anika, you and your assistant made me feel uncomfortable in both visits. I felt like you both were judging me by the way you looked. No low down or advice or anything after the treatment. Not very professional. Dr Michelle is the standard. I hope you take this feedback and work on it for the better of yourself and community

Fantastic experience: The Henderson branch has very professional staff and team. Dr Aneka Patel was assigned to me during my first visit in December 2023. She took great care of my two molars extraction, and I did not feel any pain. She gave me instructions on the follow up care including emergency numbers to contact in case of any problem. I also received a text message the next day from the team to check on my progress. This was nice from them. I recently visited last week to check on my other tooth and again Dr Aneka Patel was my doctor. Her and the nurse who were taking care of me were so polite and professional. I strongly recommend their service for your next visit to a dentist.

Negative experience: Make sure you look for dental care with the device Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), which 3D scans your teeth to make sure the tooth is still good enough before doing a root canal; otherwise, it ends up like me wasting $1xxx and finding out by the specialist ($3xx) that the tooth is cracked at the bottom of the tooth. The x-ray is useless.

In the end, I found that it was my bungle to understand and the offensive tooth was extracted without much pain during office hours. Negative experience: Prior to getting work done, I was quoted x amount for all the work in my teeth to get done and that what was explained to me by the dentist. Later that week I booked in for my first appointment. After the first session, the quote apparently only covered one part of teeth and had to come up with x amount for them to finish the work even though the quote stated otherwise. Total rip off and scam artist

Fantastic experience: Had a filling that was chipped. Really impressed with the response time from the admin team. Was able to book an appointment for the day after. Smile team replied to my email within the hour and set up an appointment. Had to go back due to sensitive tooth and was again impressed by the after service. Had a filling done but due to sensitivity, had to remove the filling as a whole and redid the filling for no cost. Charged $35 again for the second xray which is understandable. Dr Roshni Patel was understanding, professional and calm. Also explained potential solutions and her rationale for the type of treatment. Felt really taken care of. Dr Roshni Patel and her assistant went above and beyond to suit my schedule which i was again impressed by. Very happy with the outcome. Thank you

Negative experience: One of the worst service I have received since being back in New Zealand. I had paid to have my wife’s Invisalign clips removed and retainers Input was originally quoted $780 by the time the appointment came for a call saying it had been raised by over $100. We decided to still go ahead as it was time to get them done. Retainers were supposed to last 2 years. 5 months in they were cracking. Called up and they wanted to charge a further $180. For just the top half of the mouth. Poor service and very poor communication skills. Would not recommend at all.

Fantastic experience: From previous experience I was quite anxious to go for an extraction, however my dentist was absolutely lovely, calming, let me know the process as it was happening, I actually walked out smiling.

Negative experience: My root canal treatment there was done in 1 session instead of standard 3 sessions. Because of that the infection in the canal was not properly cleaned, and was sealed instead. I ended up with an oral surgery, removing lots of inflamed tissues and redoing the root canal at a root canal specialist. Fixing health damage that I received at Smile Dental cost me 7000 nzd on top of what I spent initially at Smile Dental. Not to mention months of strong pain and weeks of sick leaves because of it.

Negative experience: Went here for an extraction. Everything was okay until the lady didnt numb up my gum enough, I expressed this when she was double checking before carrying on but she tried to extract the tooth anyway. I expressed some insane pain (yelling "ow" and moving around etc) and it took her a good few seconds to stop pulling and then patronizes me with "if its painful you shouldve raised your hand" um I'm pretty sure I expressed my pain pretty clearly. Because it was so sore I wasnt keen to carry on. She proceeded to numb me another 2 times (4 injections at this point) and finally I couldn't feel a thing. Which left me asking myself if she expressed the correct judgement in the situation... if someone's in pain, then you should stop? I've never had an extraction before and she patronized me further by saying "this must be your first extraction" which left me thinking are you sure it's not your first??? Lovely lady but poor judgement expressed with little sympathy shown. Wouldn't recommend unless you know your dentist.

Fantastic experience: My dentist was DR Roshni @ Henderson branch. I highly recommend her - I am very happy, she did a great job. She took her time working on my teeth, felt no pains even after all numbness were gone. It has been a delight attending all of my appointments and see the magic unfolds thank you DR Roshni.

Completely changed the way I view going to see the dentist. The dental assistant was helpful too, she assisted the dentist so the dentist can help me & my teeth!!
