Negative experience: Had a consultation with Dr. Michael Zhuo who was incredibly dismissive and indifferent. The consultation was in regards to a wisdom tooth extraction and none of his responses to our questions were helpful. Vague answers, very little actual inspection of my teeth and no estimates on pricing until prompted multiple times. For a procedure that would cost upward of $1,000 you would expect better insights and service.

Fantastic experience: I sincerely appreciate the professional team at this dental clinic. The dentist Wendy is highly skilled, gentle, and attentive, always taking the time to explain each step clearly, which makes the whole experience reassuring and comfortable. The clinic staff are also incredibly friendly and courteous—from the front desk,every detail reflects warmth, efficiency, and genuine care for the patients.

Fantastic experience: I had 3 implants fitted here by AJ. My wife also had one implant fitted. Excellent work. No problems whatsoever. No need to go overseas when you can just hop over the bridge to get the work done at great prices. I chose Northmed from several other dentists for the treatment. Several reasons, but the main ones were convenience, the price (of course), but most importantly, after the initial consultation by AJ, I had the feeling that the team knew their profession very well, and I was confident they would do a great job. I was not dissappointed. Northmed is now my regular dentist, with top class work from Dima, who fitted a crown.

Fantastic experience: I had my Invisalign treatment with Dr. AJ, and he was absolutely amazing—a true perfectionist! I’m beyond happy with my results; my teeth look incredible. His nurse, Diana, was also wonderful—super friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. A big shoutout to the receptionists, Coco and Zina, who always went the extra mile to accommodate my appointments, even though I travel all the way from Rotorua for my ortho treatment. I also had my teeth whitening done with Dr. Dima, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Her nurse, Mikaela, was just as friendly and made the experience even better. Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the amazing team at Northmed Dental, for the service that they provided in my visit to their clinic earlier this month. I am not resident in New Zealand, and had a crown break off while on holiday. The amazing staff at Northmed Dental were able to allocate me an appointment for the next day, and Dr. Wang performed a new composite filling (as the broken one that I had retained wasn't suitable for reattachment). The quality of the work done is impeccable, and I felt completely comfortable throughout the treatment process.

Fantastic experience: Extremely happy with my treatment from Dr Michael Zhou. He explained clearly, what options I had for a cracked tooth, that required root canal treatment. He meticulously cleaned the roots and did the crown in one day, thereby reducing the number of appointments I needed to attend. He is forward thinking and has explained to me what treatments I will need e.g. which old fillings need replacing etc. in the near future. Many thanks to Michael and his team for abating the anxieties I have regarding my dental health.

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Northmed Dental almost since AJ‘s beginnings, and I have always been treated with care and professionalism. Two months ago I had the pleasure of getting to know Dr Celine Khor, who repaired a chip in my tooth. She matched the colour beautifully, and did an allround excellent cosmetic fix. Today she cleaned my teeth, and I was very impressed with her diligence and attention. Dr Celine is so meticulous, she probably gave me the most thorough clean ever! I am certain that she will have a stellar career ahead…

Negative experience: Unprofessional and rude. Didn't feel like he was listening to my concerns and was asking me personal questions that was creepy. I'll be going to a different practice with more experienced staff.

Fantastic experience: I am really happy with Michael and his team. They looked after me so, so well and took the time I needed, to go over my treatment plan with a fine tooth comb. As a very nervous patient, I opted for sedation. Best move I made. He managed to save a very troublesome tooth and added a 3D printed crown, amazing! I experienced zero pain during or post the procedure. My comfort was checked up on regularly throughout my procedure. Negative experience: Very awful place An inexperienced dentist examined me, and she took a very long time. She showed great ineptitude by saying that if something went wrong during the treatment, my tooth might need to be extracted. I did not trust them, so I did not receive the treatment. Instead, I went to another dentist with more experience, who said that only a simple treatment was necessary. I almost lost my tooth unnecessarily. Furthermore, while examining me, they dropped an instrument on the floor and then continued to use it in my mouth after sanitising it.

Negative experience: Would recommend going elsewhere. They were rather misleading about the pricing of a checkup and clean, as well as not booking in for a clean as requested, without informing me of that at the time of booking. They also missed a number of potential future problem that were picked up by another dentist after getting a second opinion.

Negative experience: It was my 4th time visiting these guys today and unfortunately I won’t be going back. I attended for a routine 6 monthly clean. I sat in the chair and was told that the price had increased from $117 to $147 (25%) since my last visit in October. A pretty insane increase considering inflation rate is currently 4.7%. I would have appreciated being informed of this prior to my appointment as I would have cancelled and found somewhere else. The clean was extremely painful which was a surprise as last time it wasn’t painful at all and was a different person doing it. Finally, the hygienist asked me if I had braces in the past, to which I replied yes. She said it must have been a while ago as my teeth have moved and I should talk to a dentist about getting them again. Not a very nice comment to receive after spending $9000 on braces a few years ago. I will no longer recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I was a dental assistant at Northmed Dental for 2 years and I can say with confidence, that Northmed truly provides exceptional quality care and treatment. Personally, I’ve had all 4 wisdom teeth removed, AngelAlign, Fillings and Hygiene cleans done by the team, and all of the above was executed to a very high standard. I've never been more confident in my smile, and in a businesses quality of work. I'll certainly continue to use Northmed as my dental provider; as their care, operating hours, pricing, modern equipment and expertise, is certainly few far and between. A true gem of a dentist, on the shore!

Fantastic experience: Sorry for posting this review a bit too late. I was struggling with massive pain in my wisdom teeth, a little over an year back. The pain had flared up suddenly which had resulted in infection and inflammation in my gums and mouth. I reached out to Dr. AJ Salman (recommended by my friend) and he handled the whole situation pretty well. He advised me the right solution (as opposed to another private medical centre who had advised me to first go for 4 unnecessary sessions of floss and a few more things before surgery, just to mint money). He proposed some easy ways and mild medication to control the infection and inflammation, and a month later performed the surgery...nothing fancy or no costly treatments !! Saw me couple times post surgery just to check if things are progressing all right. I live further up north so visiting him in their Mairangi Bay branch was quite helpful as well. I must say I'm forever grateful to Dr. AJ for his help. Wish I could give him seven stars here !!

Positive experience: Great service by Dr. Jay. Warm & friendly however the assistant wasn’t too gentle. Kept hitting my teeth with the metal instruments. Also the receptionist is initially nice but if you ask questions that may confuse her a tiny bit, she seems to get easily annoyed and her friendly character fades away. I thought it was just me but when my friend dealt with her another time, she got the same experience by just asking if she can use southern cross & that health app discount at the same time. Her appointment was late 30 mins. The dentist was nice but she also kept hitting her teeth with those instruments even after my friend commented about it.

Fantastic experience: I had dental treatment done late yesterday afternoon with Dr Michael Zhuo. I needed a surgical extraction as well as multiple fillings and a dental clean. I had it all done under iv sedation. I felt very well looked after and Dr Michael was professional and treated me with respect and kindness. Even a few laughs between us :) he made me feel at ease as well as his dental assistant who was also lovely. He did a fantastic job and I am very happy. Highly recommend. Positive experience: I got a tooth extracted here there were complications and I had a bit of an issue but AJ who was called in was wonderful and very honest, made me feel reassured and like he’s really cared about my family and me. I can see he strives to please the customer and make the practise the best it can be. That’s rare to find these days. So being able to chat about the issue and be looked after means the world to me. Sometimes things can go wrong or not as expected but being able to care for you patients in such a kind honest way and trying to make it better shows what such a great place this is.

Fantastic experience: I recently had dental treatment by Dr Michael Georgy. I can’t speak highly enough of his professionalism, caring and clear pathway to a rescue a tooth. I was quite nervous to undergo a root canal and tempted to pull the tooth. Dr Georgy made the whole experience (two apts) gentle, pain free and I’m super delighted with the outcome, saving the tooth!!!

Fantastic experience: I was told by many friends that Northmed's price is fair and their service is brilliant. My bottom wisdom teeth grew side ways and damaged the molars in front which in turn led to infection. I am already in my late 30s so the risks are even higher. Despite many complications, my surgeon Michael Zhuo did an exceptional job extracting all four of my wisdom teeth as well as fixing the molars. In my years of visiting various dentists, Michael offers the best services despite he's young age. The people working at the front desk are also excellent, they are always approachable and helpful. If you want to get your teeth done well and quickly, I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t be more happy with the result! I consulted a number of dental clinics for Invisalign and decided to go with Northmed Dental because Dr Michael was very upfront with how the entire process will be and also because they offer a reat good payment plan. Dr Michael made sure that I was happy with how my teeth looked even if he had to do lots of extra refinements. One of my friends noticed the difference and has already started her Invisalign treatment at Northmed.

Fantastic experience: I received treatment from Dr Michael Georgy over five sessions. At all times he was very professional, explaining each step of the treatment thoroughly which gave me reassurance and confidence in the process. During the treatment, Dr Georgy always checked with me that I was comfortable and would give me little breaks to rest. I am thoroughly pleased with the outcome of my treatment and would highly recommend Dr Georgy. The reception staff and Dental Assistants were all very friendly and personable too, making a visit to Northmed Dental a very positive experience.

Fantastic experience: Dr Jay Choi is a great dentist with little kids, we visited with our 4 year old today and he took time to engage with our daughter to demonstrate it’s not bad to have a dental checkup, allowed her to play with the dental mirror ect. The receptionist and a dentist aid also came to help by providing sugar-free lollipops and toys to calm the kid before the checkup. It’s a friendly and neat dental clinic in central north Shore location(a). Dr Choi showed professionalism, great understanding and patience. overall it is a fantastic experience, most importantly I know my kid won’t be scared next time round when going to see him for another routine checkup, thanks for the A team at northmed dental care.

Fantastic experience: I had my Invisalign treatment, root canal, crown replacement, laser teeth whitening, hygiene cleaning done at Northmed Dental. I had great experience every time I visited the clinic. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming there and the communication was always smooth and efficient. Dr AJ was brilliant, he explained to me all my treatments thoroughly and that gave me a peace of mind. My Invisalign treatment completed within the timeline and the end result was great. My crown replacement was very challenging as it’s one of my front teeth and I wanted the shape and the colour to be perfect and Dr AJ did an amazing job. Thanks to Dr AJ, I can now smile confidently with my beautiful set of teeth.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience with AJ and the front of house staff - from initial consultation to final visit. Modern, clean and bright From the initial printed treatment report outlining what could be expected and a quote, inhouse 3D xray with copies I could take away; staff rang the evening I had the root extracted to check everything was ok. AJ explained everything, several times when I needed. It was a lengthly process but it was to make sure my bone structure was strong enough for the dental implant. Very happy with the outcome.
