Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly right when we arrived at the front office. They thoroughly explained to my mum, who is the patient, what she needs to do and options for treatment. Dr. Mina is also very gentle that my mum’s anxiety was lessened throughout the procedure. She felt happy with the efficiency of the services. Thank you so much and all the best for the team!

Negative experience: I wish I was lying when I say this was a horrific experience. I’m a nervous patient and 100% understand it’s not easy to work with but to not have been asked what I preferred is just frustrating. I get you would prefer to save a tooth but not everyone can afford that option. Was advised it could be a filling for around $300, a root canal at $1500 plus I would need a crown on top of this at an unknown cost. I had to stop the treatment to ask what they were doing and be told I’m part way through a root canal! I’m sorry but how can you justify that? At no point did I agree to a root canal and very much pushed for a filling. Ended up telling them to extract the tooth so I could get out of there asap but upon arriving home there is still bits of my tooth falling out that I could have swallowed. $330 for a sub par service and having to get followed up elsewhere to be sure it was done properly. Certainly felt like a money grab and the assistant seemed peeved she had to tend to someone visibly upset and in pain throughout the whole experience. Would not recommend unless you don’t care for what is being done.

So friendly and very skilled. Definitely exceeded my expectations! I was extremely nervous as they recommended to pull my wisdom teeth out right then and there, but thanks to the staff, I was quickly put at ease and knew I was in good hands. Thank you all very much! Fantastic experience: I'm a daughter of a now non practicing Dentist so I get really anxious whenever I get treated by a different dentist. But Dr. Mina was amazing! I never felt anxious althroughout the treatment as she makes sure to explain everything in detail. She's also very gentle and highly skilled. But he reassured me each step that it was going well and that there was nothing to worry about. He was super informative about the wisdom tooth extraction procedure, giving me lots of pointers. Fantastic experience: My family of 4 visited the clinic this week. All for of us had a dental check. The staff where friendly and accomodating, we were late for 15mins but they managed to still squeezed us in. Many thanks! We’ve seen 3 different dentist at the time. My eldest and myself had Dr. Mina, she was very professional and approachable, she explained to me what’s going to happen, ask me what my concerns were and answers all my questions. During the entire procedure, she keeps telling me how I am doing and what she was doing, which was super great, she made me feel at ease and comfortable. My youngest got Dr. Michael, she enjoyed it and said he was Zesty We highly recommend this place! 2 thumbs up!

The reception area and people are great, the dental room is spectacular, and the tools are one of a kind. My dentist is Mina and she is definitely the best dentist ever. Her hands are light, you won’t feel any pressure or pain. She will make sure you are very comfortable while she is cleaning your teeth. She shown full knowledge in what she’s doing. She definitely will make sure that her patient is getting the best service. Stafford Dental Timaru will now be forever taking care of my teeth with Mina as my Dentist.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous dental practice. From the moment you walk in you feel very welcomed. Erin and Leah at the front counter were super friendly. Mina and her assistant Debbie were fabulous, very calm and reassuring. Mina let me know all the way through the process exactly what she was doing, was very gentle, and explained everything on the screen afterwards. The wait time for appointments is short so you can rest assured you will get in when you need to. The most positive dental experience I have ever had. Thankyou!

Negative experience: My wife went in for a tooth extraction on a wisdom tooth. About half an hour after arriving the nurse rushed out to the car to get me. Still masked and gown on. No stopping for covid procedure or to check if I was vacc (I had mask on) I found my wife very distressed in the chair with the dentist looking over a computer screen. I asked what was going on. She showed me a screen with the xray on it. She stated the wisdom tooth won't come out after a few good go. Seems the gum would need cut. The dentist was clearly frustrated and ripped up the forms on the bench. After saying the gum couldn't be cut the dentist lost all interest and the nurse (who was very good) took the stuff off my wife. I paid for the consultation and x-rays. At no time since or during did the dentist offered no after care for the crushed wisdom tooth that she attempted to remove. The dentist got frustrated when the pain relief pills weren't suitable and again wasnt to professional cos things didn't go her way. I suggest she should have consulted with another dentist at the practice and calmed down herself and the patient down. Update Since the post of this review, the practice has phoned to "clarify some points" of this post. This hasn't turned out well for them as the person who phoned wasn't there at the time. It would seem this practice is only interested in the bad review. They said the dentist is experienced with wisdom teeth and works well with children Her profile shows quality in Australia in 2018. They said sometimes wisdom teeth need cut out. Clearly that's why a dentist takes xrays as she told me that it would be difficult, which she could see looking at the xray. The practice said they only knew something was wrong when they read the review. Is it normal to have a patient leave with blood coming from a gum, no pain relief and bits of tooth falling out. Overall not only a bad consultation but bad follow up phone call. Since this review was posted, a reply was posted. The reply states they offered another dentist at the practice to remove the teeth. So it would seen that Micheal from Stafford Dental would some what agree that Caroline (the original dentist) was not capable of the job and he was. . The job was referred to a further Dental specialist who (amongst other comments) said the gum wouldn't have need cut, and "who made this mess". It would seem this experienced dentist wasn't very impressed either. We do need to say the nursing staff and reception staff were all professional. We will continue to update until Stafford Dental offer a written apology and we feel a refund is now in order as we has a natural professional opinion. Will keep updating so review is on top, until a refund is given. It can take years

Fantastic experience: Had an implant a year ago to replace the first upper molar This can be quite a tricky one operativly. After one month I could not distinguish it from my natural teeth and at my annual checkup ,boney resolution (healing) was perfect. Michael is a skilled operator and I really would recommend this procedure for anyone with an annoying gap. It’s like getting your original tooth back. Thank you

Negative experience: I had an appointment with a dentist. He suggested I can have my two wisdom teeth pulled out and I agreed. But after all the injection done up and down, he found there was only one wisdom teeth at the bottom, so eventually only the bottom one was pulled out and the dentist’s reason was he counted it wrong. The original deal is two teeth, $480($240 each). So I paid $240 because only one was pulled out. Because of this mistake, I suffered more pains from the injection and lost feeling that I could not have been to. I was very upset and asked an apology and some refund if they could. The dentist called and apologized but no money can be refunded. The reason is $240 was already after discount because he was nice to me. (? Do you decide price based on whether you want to be nice to someone or should be on the teeth case itself? Well at least I thought so) anyway, no refund made for the extra pains at all. This is not a happy experience. The technique and explanation both upset me. However the reception and nursing staffs are great people, received very welcoming greetings on Monday morning.

Fantastic experience: I've had some bad experiences with dentists before, so was rather reticent about having the last of my topset removed, for the fitting of dentures. Caroline Gohar was brilliant, 6 teeth, 20 minutes and most importantly no real bruising. I was drinking coffee 2 days later. Very well done!
