Fantastic experience: Cheryl was great. Straight to it, answered all my questions, gave me options, didn’t feel rushed, appreciated her assertiveness where needed. Non judgement, helpful, thorough and very caring with her check ins i.e every so often would ask if I needed a rinse/if I’m okay etc. All round, great service. Price was affordable in comparison to other clinics (as affordable as a dentist can be )

Negative experience: My sister went to get an extraction from Cheryl a couple of weeks ago and she was horrible. The way she talks to her employees is wrong & unprofessional. The place is tidy and clean looking but no one seems to know what they are doing. This place is very overpriced too. They definitely delete bad reviews! I wish I could rate 0. Take this review into consideration and BE BETTER!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place, great location, easy parking. Greeted with a smile from start to finish. Hard to believe I walked in and out wondering if this was a dream. Check up was at no cost, care plan provided right away. Quotes given. Able to book the next appointment on the spot and there was no pushing for upgrades or anything (often experienced at other practices). I'm happy I've made the switch. I cannot fault the place and I hope to keep them as my go to for many years from now. Thanks Maxcare Massey.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing first experience at MaxCare Dental. Lovely staff, the receptionist was so warm and friendly and Dr Mohammed was the same as well as his assistant. Dr Mohammed took me through all options to replace one of my back molars I had extracted after it was done. The extraction procedure itself was done so effortlessly and without any pain, although I did feel it afterwards once the anaesthetic wore off, but painkillers helped with managing this. I felt so looked after and will definitely be going back there for a replacement removable plate/denture. The extra bonus is the Afterpay payment option. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: Had my wisdom tooth surgically removed here, very professional, easy and painless process. High recommend. My oral surgeon was Mohammed and would highly recommend. It was my first wisdom tooth and the experience was seemless just be prepared to spend around 1k plus on a wisdom tooth.

Negative experience: Horrible experience; please avoid seeing dentist Cheryl Cribbin. I had X-rays done at another clinic and went to this dentist for an extraction. The dentist looked at my tooth and recommended saving it with a filling, even though it was a difficult tooth at the back she said filling still is an option I accepted her advice. Now, after the filling, my tooth became really sore. Before my visit, I had zero pain after appointment I was in constant pain. I allowed about a month for healing; the pain persisted, so I booked a follow-up appointment with Cheryl. She said the pain was from another tooth that also needed filling. I got another filling done ($280). I was still in pain now both teeth with fillings hurt. After another month and a half, the pain didn't go away, so I booked another appointment. The dentist had no clue what was causing the pain; I had to do my own research and testing for a diagnosis. I insisted on an extraction as I wasn't willing to continue spending money. I pointed out that a month ago I paid $280 for a filling she insisted on (even though I initially asked for an extraction). Now she agreed to an extraction, and offered to discount the filling cost, the extraction cost is suddenly $550— that usually cost around$280, because she said it's hard extraction for a back tooth. Even though My wife had a back tooth extraction at the same place for around $280. Basically, she increased the extraction price from $280 to $550; after reducing the filling cost by $280, she still charged me for both. Moreover, she was unpleasant. She yelled at one of the nurses during my treatment because she couldn't understand her due to language barrier. If a dentist can't respect her own staff, I wouldn't expect her to care about her patients. I've had fillings done elsewhere; this is the worst dental experience I've ever had. I can't comment on other dentists at this clinic, but please avoid Cheryl Cribbin, Don't get ripped off like me. Update on my review month later After bad experience with dentist Cheryl earlier, Practice Manager Fatima called back to sincerely apologise and offered options to resolve this complaint.Fatima booked me in with dentist Mohammed. Experience with this dentist has been great so far, Mohammed is caring, asked the right questions to help out, Ensured that overall I left satisfied, on top of this Fatima offered me free whitening kit that generally cost over $400.Thanks so much Fatima for showing extra care and resolving this for me.You have turned this around really well for better experience.This is called win win situation, not only that Fatima made sure I stay with Maxcare dental she also showed that they care about the patients Thanks once again Fatima and Dentist Mohammed

Negative experience: Visited this dental clinic after being drawn in by the offer of a free X-ray. However, what I actually received was just a basic scan. When I needed a more detailed scan, I was hit with extra charges that were far higher than what I’ve paid elsewhere for a full package, including X-rays and scans, which just didn’t make sense. The quote I got for everything, including a tooth filling, was around $3,500. Thankfully, I decided not to go ahead with it. Even just the detailed scan and consultation cost me $200, which felt steep for what I got. After that, I shopped around and found West Harbour Dental Centre. Their prices were way more reasonable, and the dentist service was genuinely good. I felt much more comfortable there. The price I paid was less than half of what the first clinic quoted me, which really says it all. Honestly, I won’t be going back to the first place and would recommend friends and family look elsewhere too. There are definitely better, more affordable options out there.

Negative experience: Unprofessional, booked with someone who didn’t even bother to show up so had another person take me in who was rude as hell and kept speaking in another language with her colleagues and interpreting me when I was speaking to her. Left this place with a cut inside my gum and a cold sore on my lip. Emailed them and no one bothered to get in contact with me

Fantastic experience: My name is Dave, I broke a molar tooth in half while eating Jack links Beef Jerky. Do Not Eat This. My treatment was excellent and my tooth was repaired and saved. The subsequent dealings I had with ACC were somewhat challenging, however the reception staff and other admin support staff at this Clinic were fantastic. They all hung in there supporting me until the issues that I was having were sorted and things were able to proceed with the ACC process. Many thanks! I highly recommended this Clinic, do not hesitate visiting should you need dental treatment, they are second to none!

They would send confirmation of appointments, follow up call when necessary and send SMS texts and email as reminders. The price are relatively lower that dental clinics we have here in Avondale. Negative experience: The place was nice but the price was way off. Had a mouth clean for two people at $190 each. My partner gets them done every year and this was the most expensive place. Advertises from $120 up. For less than 30mins work, I will be finding a different place next time.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service and friendly staff. All procedures were painless even wisdom tooth extraction! I was super anxious but the kindness of the staff helped me a lot. Plenty of reassurance and gave me a stress ball to hold because of my nervousness. The receptionist is also super lovely and communication is clear and awesome! All prices were told to me after the FREE consultation so no surprise costs!

Fantastic experience: I've never had such a great, pleasant dentist experience, fast, efficient and pricing is great, no hidden costs, as dentists let's you know price before hand. The team from receptionist, dentist assistant too the dentists herself was extremely helpful, cares for the patient, NOT just treat you like a poor person and pluck out your teeth, say mean stuff and charge you an arm and a leg. They're definitely different, they truly are an amazing team. I highly recommend this place and it will definitely be my permanent dentists. Thanks to my neice for letting me know about this place.

Fantastic experience: I was SUPER stressed getting my tooth extracted. Going to the dentist is my worst nightmare. Open your eyes and you see everything - close your eyes and you imagine everything, you just cannot win! The staff were very caring and friendly, Dr Arwani and his team did an awesome job. My previous dentist would charge for the first consultation and then make me book again to do the actual work. This place, I was in and out with a new filling on the same day. Fantastic experience: i’m very nervous re dentists and have avoided for years, i initially only came to maxcare because they take zip payments, but they ended up being a great choice. Fatima at reception created a welcoming environment that calmed my anxiety jitters, and Raanjee the dentist was understanding of my anxiety and reassured me we could stop any time I needed and checked in with me during my treatment. Very professional and kind people here who gave me a wonderful cleaning and were great for my first experience getting fillings!

Fantastic experience: Mohammed at Maxcare dental Massey is the best dentist I've been to ever. I had previously seen another dentist at another practise (not maxcare) a week prior who said he wasn't sure he could do my extraction and was concerned due to my kidney disease he couldn't treat me as a patient and said that I should go to the hospital, my GP then said I need to get information from him for a hospital referral the dentist then refused to write down any information for me to even take to the hospital/for another dentist, was not helpful or thorough with his exam and I ended up wasting money. I was basically left in pain and unsure now what to do as I was worried to waste money on another dentist with the same outcome. I was suggested by a friend to go to maxcare dental for a second opinion as they do free consultations. The dentist I saw there Mohammed was very kind and understanding, thorough and informative. He is a confident and skilled dentist and was able to treat my issue well. He explained everything to me and checked all my other teeth to come up with a plan of treatment. Within 24 hours of seeing him he extracted my tooth with ease and made a plan for other dental issue to attend to the following week. The free consultation was very thorough and I was happy to book with them again with no need to go to the hospital. It was very quick and easy get an appointment when I rang through even in the same or following day with them. The receptionist was so caring and reassuring on the phone. All the staff are there are so helpful all the way through. I 100% recommend Maxcare dental if you live in Auckland. I won't be going to any dentist other than Mohammed in the future. I can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and is passionate about his job and does it very well. Id also like to state it's the most affordable dentist I've ever been too aswell. They offered me affordable solutions for everything. Cheaper than I've ever paid before at dentists which to be honest I've struggled with in the past to find affordable dental care. They do take care of patients on winz aswell and help with that. 10/10 experience.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I open the door you see a friendly receptionist go to sit down you are calmed with ocean screen and when you go into the procedure room you are greeted with a smile it's a good thing to experience the dentist explains what he is going to do before he does it and yeah

Negative experience: My partner had toothache for a couple days, though she could still enjoy her meals well and sleep in a normal way. Out of caution, I took her to see a dentist for a check. We went to the nearby Maxcare Dental, where my partner filled a form after telling the receptionist (who's also the clinic's manager) this was the first time she came to the clinic. About 20 mins after being escorted into a dental room, my partner grabbed a tooth in her hand tightly and walked heavily out. She was badly shocked and her body could not stop shaking. It turned out the dentist did a 'swift' check, and proceed to remove her tooth without telling her his findings, giving possible options and having her informed consent. Later, the clinic's manager created a 'clinical notes' in which she made up things and made false claims.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at Maxcare Dental yesterday. It took doctor Arwani less than 25 mins to complete initial check + X-ray + local anesthesia and time to numb area around a molar tooth + removing the tooth + treatment of the cuts and safe guard period. To make it worse, the doctor went straight for local anesthesia without my knowledge and without asking my allergy history. Further, without explaining to me my teeth's status and my possible options, the doctor again went straight to remove my tooth without my verbal consent or my written consent. I didn't realize the doctor was removing my tooth until he started to pull the tooth. I signaled him to stop but it was too late to safe the tooth. It was a dreadful nightmare and I would not recommend anyone for their services.
