Negative experience: Had an appalling experience here having a Wisdom tooth removed in August 2024. Have recently had another Wisdom tooth out at a different practice and the experience could not have been more different. I had a lower wisdom tooth extracted under local anaesthetic by Dr Sam Zhang. Previously, in June 2024, I had seen Dr Zhang for a teeth cleaning and to discuss the occasional pain I was experiencing with the wisdom tooth concerned. Dr Zhang took X-rays and explained the tooth could be removed at the practice under local anaesthetic. The appointment was set by the receptionist for 30 minutes. I was led to believe it would be a quick and relatively painless procedure. The procedure itself was extremely difficult and painful. It took nearly two hours, during which time I was confused as to what was actually happening, as what I’d been told would be a relatively simple procedure was obviously anything but. After the procedure Dr Zhang stated, “In hindsight we should have put you under for this one”. He also mentioned he would give me a script for antibiotics and painkillers as it had been a difficult extraction. Dr Zhang had another appointment so left quickly, leaving me standing in reception covered in blood (which your receptionist thankfully cleaned off for me when she saw how bad it was), I paid but left without the pain/meds script. I was dazed after the procedure and so did not think to ask about it, and the receptionist and Dr Zhang did not communicate about it. Two days later and still in considerable pain, I called ECB Dental again to request a check up and pain medication. The receptionist asked if I had been taking the antibiotics provided - to which I replied, no, because I hadn’t been provided any script! The script was then finally organised an hour later and I was able to get some relief. A shocking experience and one I'm still troubled by - and note that a lot of the positive reviews on here are before the practice was sold a few years back. I'd avoid them like the plague and check out many of the other dentists on the Shore!

Fantastic experience: East Coast Bays Dental is an incredible place to visit. For someone who was scared of the dentist and hasn't visited for many years I can say they treat you with general kindness. Jane explains everything slowly to you and gives me plenty of options on treatment. She is kind and caring and doesn't make a fuss if you are scared or worried. She was gentle with me and suggested I listen to music to distract me from the visit. There prices are fair and reasonable. I would suggest for anyone to visit her if you are nervous of the dentist and this isn't your typical place.

Fantastic experience: With bad tooth ache, and no recent dental work I searched various North Shore dentists and decided on ECBdental. After a first visit with Dentist Sandra my toothache is gone and remedial work is plannned. The practice is calming, and Dr Sandra listens patiently and well, discusses options, and is caring and gentle. Impressed.

Fantastic experience: I recently had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Kent Yip, and I can’t recommend him enough! From the moment I walked into his office, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Dr. Yip took the time to explain everything in detail, which really helped calm my nerves. I also had some concerns about dental fraud, but he was super reassuring and made me feel comfortable with everything. During the procedure, Dr. Yip was amazing—really gentle, and kept checking in to make sure I was okay. The whole thing was over faster than I expected, and I barely felt anything. He also gave me clear instructions on how to care for my mouth afterward, which made the recovery process a lot easier than I thought it would be. I definitely will recommend going to Dr. Kent!

Fantastic experience: 体验感很好的一次拔牙，前台蔡姐非常有耐心而且会很多种语言，就算是第一次拔牙的人也完全不会有任何压力。 给我拔牙的是sam，技术很好，拔完之后会感觉到有点不舒服 但是几乎不疼。对于怕疼的真的很友好！ 麻药过了虽然不疼但是以防万一我还是吃了两次布洛芬后来感觉真的不疼就没吃了 猜想中起码要疼个两三天，发烧或者肿，但最后也就肿了三天而已（我拔完牙就立刻冰敷，前两天只要醒着就间隔冰敷睡着就敷退热贴）所以第三天基本就不怎么肿了。 整个过程一个多小时 费用根据难易程度而定 我拔的是下牙950刀 拍片90刀

Dr Kent YIP is very gentle, lovely and a good listener, his team are friendly and professional too. They made her feel calm and relaxed during the treatment. The procedure was quick and painless, and Dr Kent YIP explained everything clearly before and after. After studying the x-rays, Kent suggested to take out both teeth and mentioned to her that she still had the other 2 molars for eating, didn’t need to have implants. Dr. Sam Zhang and his team are exceptionally professional, patient and considerate. He listened to our concerns and gave us choices, which few others would do. When dental procedures needed to be carried out, he was very gentle and thorough. My son had no pain even though it was a possibility with the procedures required. I was very nervous about the procedure, but Dr. Kent put me at ease with his friendly and professional demeanor. He thoroughly explained the entire process and answered all of my questions, which made me feel much more comfortable. During the procedure, Dr. Kent was very gentle and attentive to my comfort level. He worked efficiently and effectively, and I was impressed with his attention to detail. I experienced very little discomfort during the root canal and the recovery period was quick and relatively painless. Also, I should mention the nurse is super lovely and friendly. Fantastic experience: One of my front teeth was knocked off by an accident during the Christmas holidays. I went to a dental clinic that was open nearby and had the glue with wire repaired, within a few days the glue cracked and the tooth fell off again, and so on and so forth, and in less than a month I went back four times and had the glue repaired, The dentist said it was because my teeth were loose and wouldn't stick properly. I was so disappointed that I went to East Coast Bay Dental and made an appointment with Kent to do the adhesive repair for me. After finishing the adhesive, I felt amazing. The adhesive was very strong, as feel the tooth didn't fall off at all. The experience of two different dental clinics made me deeply realize how important to meet a good dentist. Thank you very much Kent for fixing my teeth.

Dr. Yip explained in details his advice which is very helpful for understanding my dental health status and potential treatment. Better experience than with the popular brands. He showed empathy when I came to him with my tooth ache, went out of his way and schedulings to relieve the pain as I couldn't attend work because of it. I returned to work next day. His asistance did an awesome job too. Before this, I had my premolars taken out by Confidental in Hillsborough without any suggestions to save it or check any other tooth that may have been infected (neat to say, don't go by the 5 star rating they have there as they rush things over there and they charge way too much compare to their services). I heard about East Coast Dental in Albany from a friend, went there and didn't regret it. Dr Kent checked every tooth and suggested what I should look out for and gave me options that I was very happy with. I am impressed with East Coast Dentist. Even if I have to travel an hour to get here and pay extra. Highly recommended and high quality service. So thank you!

Negative experience: I made a booking with them and meanwhile confirmed my booking. But I suddenly received the text like this”Karen, your dental appt has been rescheduled to 06/10/22 at 03:30pm. (was 05/10/22 @ 3.30pm) Pls reply "OK" if it is acceptable. Keep Safe / ECB Dental” Their receptionist changed my booking even without asking me?! Never met professional service like this before!! And I called back to ask the receptionist but she is really tough and insisting some people want to change back my booking! Very bad unprofessional attitude!!! Poor service!!! If you got other choice, don’t go there!!!

Negative experience: First of all thanks for relieving the pain for me and removing a tooth for me. Your service attitude is very friendly. However, a very young doctor, perhaps lacking some experience, injected me with anesthesia five times, which was quite painful. He removed one of my teeth with great difficulty, and there was a little shredded meat on the tooth. , Bleeding for a day, very painful for 5 days. The results are still very good, I have taken a lot of painkillers and antibiotics, and I am recovering very well now, I have made an appointment for another clinic for implants.
