Fantastic experience: I ❤️Amber Dental! As someone who has a fear of dental treatment of any kind, I was a very nervous first-time patient, but I needn’t have worried. Doctor Jo was so lovely and very understanding. I needed repairs to some old dental work, and we were able to work out a plan to prioritise what needed doing first. I can honestly say the new technology they utilise in the clinic is incredible, and each visit was a near painless experience. We are fortunate to have Amber Dental, Jo and her team here in Gisborne, and I can happily give my highest recommendation.

I broke my front tooth over the weekend and even though I was not registered with a dentist in Gisborne, they not only managed to fit me in but the service given was unbelievable. Fantastic experience: I was lucky enough to be able to get into Amber dental the day after my front tooth was chipped. I had Dr Jo and Sarah, they were super friendly, kind, supportive and personable. I shared that I was very nervous to be at the dentist, Jo asked me why, and what can she do to help me feel less nervous throughout the process. They made the entire experience painless as she talked me through everything that she was doing. I was able to leave the dentist feeling not scared to go back. Not scared at all. Negative experience: Disappointed in Amber. My 12 yr old come to yous after a hockey accident smashing 2 teeth and her nerve hanging out. You took 5 minutes and told me you can see her in 8 weeks and to ring around if I wanted an earlier appointment. What was sad is you offered no support or advice and did nothing to her mouth, no antibiotics or pain medication and left us in an emotional state and her traumatized after your visit. Please take some tips from Dental Centre (Harry/David) on empathy and how to treat clients. 4 days after unbearable pain we got into Dental Centre who made an effort to see her, and left with with antibiotics, pain meds and sealed her nerve....something you should've done from the start.

Fantastic experience: Great service, came in with no appointment with a chuck of tooth that had fallen out the night before, thinking I wouldn’t be able to get seen for weeks, they got me in within 1 1/2 hours and got it all fixed up for me. Fantastic experience: My dentist of years could only get me an appointment if there was a cancellation, so I phoned Amber Dental. They saw me 1:30 the same day and by the next morning my problem was fixed. I appreciate their haste as I would have been in extreme discomfort and pain. Fantastic experience: As a 36year old being embarrassed asking if I could be taught how to floss, I could not have been more put at ease. Rachel my dentist and her helper Grace were both amazing, empathic, informative, helpful at put my nerves at ease. Allowed me to listen to music with 1 earphone to help with my anxiety during the procedure. Talked me thru her processing as she was working on me. Made sure I had dignity thru out the whole process(wiping my mouth, checking I had no pain etc). And then the very next day, their lovely office ladies call to make sure your doing ok after your procedure. Thank you.

Negative experience: Took a day off work for appointment, was rung 5 minutes beforehand to reschedule. Took another day off work for that appointment and then was rung to reschedule again, barely 5 minutes notice on both cancelations, loss of 2 days pay and still no appointment.

Fantastic experience: Had severe pain from a back tooth, but wasn't registered at a dentist. Amber Dental registered me and I was lucky enough to get in same day for a consult initially. Ended up with an extraction, which was not straightforward. Fantastic people, with a warm and caring professionalism. A great first experience, and will be getting more work done there going forward. Would highly recommend.

As for someone that doesn’t like dentist, I was made very comfortable and reassured that what was happening and everything was explain to me before we moved forward with any processes. I had previously been referred to a specialist to have my wisdom teeth removed which was going to cost a lot of money and wouldn't be done for four months. Friends had suggested I try Amber Dental so I called on a Monday and got an appointment on Wednesday! All of the staff were so friendly and the dentist I saw for my consult took the time to explain all my options. She was then able to book me in for my wisdom teeth to be removed the very next Wednesday! The procedure was fast and painless, and the surgeon and assistant were both very professional but friendly with a sense of humour which made the whole process much less stressful for me. I can't thank you all enough!

I am one of those people petrified of dentists so for me to give a positive review should say it all! Fantastic experience: The service here was amazing! We were visiting Gisborne from Hawkes Bay when my wife had bad tooth pain on Christmas Eve. After being treated with pain relief at A&ae on Christmas Day we were able to get an appointment from the team at Amber and they took great care of us. Even post our appointment they went out of their way to email dental records and prescription to an Ohope pharmacy as we were travelling during the holidays. Super professional from the front desk through to the dentist and dental assistant! Thank you guys! And to top it off the price for check up, X-ray and prescriptions etc was only $65. Highly recommend.
