I find Tony great at explaining what he is doing and why and patient and considerate during treatment. I would strongly recommend Tony and this practice.

Fantastic experience: I’ve recently seen Sue at the dentists. She has been amazing! I’ve had a lot of fears around going to a dentist from past experiences. I’ve also needed a lot of work done but really was too afraid to go. I’ve dealt with tooth ache on an off for years. That bad that it’s wiped me out from basic every day responsibilities. With the support an encouragement of family I went to my first appointment with Sue. Firstly I want to point out the energy an atmosphere in there is incredible. Very welcoming and calming feeling, instantly felt safe and relaxed. Sue was very reassuring and supportive and understanding of my concerns. I felt heard and seen. The work that she done in my sessions have been outstanding. During the procedures she was consistently communicating with me and letting me know what she was about to do or had done. She fixed a horrible filling that was on my front tooth that has always made me feel insecure. Now it’s that perfect I couldn’t even tell what tooth it was that she had fixed. Blended in so perfectly! I’m extremely impressed with the overall experience from the receptionists, dental assistants and Sue. I highly recommend “The dentists” as the place to go where you’ll feel safe and great results!

Fantastic experience: Dental technology seems to be improving through the years Iv had white fillings for the past 27years as iv got a mild underbite condition………. The earlier fillings were abit more fragile maybe lasting a year at most …….. modern fillings seem to be abit more durable………. But it’s still up to the user to get the best endurance from their dental work. Wanganui dentals work is great…… now it’s just up to me whether I’m back in say 3years or as little as 3months. Big tip……. Protect your teeth when you sleep………..and not as important but wear a mouth-guard if your doing hard core activities where u could be caught grinding your teeth…………… grinding is the death of teeth and any associated dental work…..a dentist cannot completely save a grinder that’s in denial.

Sue took the time to explain everything to me clearly before starting the procedure and she was very gentle and skilled at her job. She made sure everything was pain free and that I felt at ease. Fantastic experience: I wouldn't say I enjoy going to the dentist but at The Dentists I have received the most caring treatment so far. My dentist knows my vulnerabilities and is always super gentle. I feel well taken care of and can recommend The Dentists to absolutely anybody.

Fantastic experience: I have always had very professional care at The Dentists. Good monitoring and advice and very efficient treatment when necessary. I use an electric wheelchair and need assistance onto and up from the treatment couch. Help is always given with no fuss. Jamie and his assistant make adaptations to technique necessary for my disability with care and creativity.

Negative experience: I had been going to ‘The Dentist’ since high school, I was 28 when I had decided I wanted Invisalign. I had gone to a few appointments had 3D X-rays and was ready to take the next steps, Adam said if I had any questions or worries that I could call him and it would be no problem. Then I was diagnosed with cancer and Invisalign was not a priority. A few months into treatment I got a text message saying I had an appointment, I called to see why bc i hadn’t actually made the appointment. Kelly answered the phone, I said I had just received a text about an appointment I didn’t make. She said it was made for me, I asked who’s paying for that? She said “You are, what do you expect? You haven’t been in for months”. I canceled the appointment and hung up in tears, I knew after that I’d never go back there. It’s been 12 years and finally I’m cancer free but I never forget how rude and condescending Kelly was. I go to Dentist on Glasgow now they’re kind and understanding, I start my cosmetic dental journey this week.

Fantastic experience: Mark Huang at The Dentist is brilliant. My 9 year's old girl chipped her front tooth in an accident. She was so worried about it and so nervous about going to the dentist. Mark keep chatting to her during the procedure which makes her relaxed. Mark works on her half chipped tooth with such skills and detail, it looks like it never happened. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 'The Dentists' in Whanganui. From my original emergency consult as a visitor with Dr Jino Kunnethedam in 2023, I was impressed with the modern, well equipped premises, the friendliness, and professionalism. Jino phoned personally to check how I was feeling after treatment. This led to further consultation regarding options for work on my teeth. At all times Jino listened, discussed, and explained along with clear images, costs and an honesty about extra costs if unseen problems arose. Such was my trust in his expertise with the crown work he completed on numerous molars back in 2023, that I have recently driven 8hrs to have further work done - six 40 yr old crowns were removed and replaced (plus another crown) all on the same day which Jino had booked fully for me. Once again, both him and his dental technician worked carefully and efficiently. The fact that the crowns are manufactured on site is a positive, time-saving experience. I am thrilled with the result.

Negative experience: Went for 10 minuets to see if they could help but alas they said they can not do any thing then charged me $95 went to another one who also said they could not do any thing but they charged me $0 so look around before going here if you just need advice.

Fantastic experience: I’ve worked at The Dentists for 30 years and have had regular teeth cleans which I have always found uncomfortable. Last week Richelle our hygienist trialed a new piece of equipment on me. It was an Airflow machine and my clean was completely pain free and even enjoyable although a little wet. I’m keen for Airflow treatment for my 6 monthly cleans from now on. Thanks Richelle you are amazing. Jenni

Fantastic experience: After years of neglect I finally got my buggered teeth looked at , 9 hours in the seat to get teeth removed . The equipment that they had defied belief , watching my mouth get 3D scanned for the bridges and plate was awesome . When they were made they fitted like a glove first time . The service was second to none and I highly recommend Adam and the staff at the Dentist for any work on your teeth.

Negative experience: I Complained to the manager who greeted me on the phone with “I’m the owner mate “ about my annoyance with the lack of time it took to clean my teeth that I received by the dentist . It was maybe about 6-8 minutes first red flag . I was dumbfounded ! I got X-rays 2-4 minutes and a sight exam on my teeth too, out within approximately 15-20 minutes ! 2nd red flag ! I actually went in specifying a cleaning and the receptionist said $170 for a clean and best to get X-rays too as I hadn’t been for 18months. I got an appointment the next day flags are flying !!! The hygienist is always booked up for months they said… They are $180 for a half hour clean . They actually clean for the whole half hour.! Sometimes an hour if your teeth need it. The Dentist said I didn’t need any more than that on my teeth and only need a polish every 2nd time so I didn’t get that either. I would definitely get a hygienist next time because that seems like a way better deal. It won’t be here though at this place , as the owner definitely didn’t treat me like family like their website specifies or spoke to me with kindness, but with a bit of an attitude, basically said we aren’t the dentists for you we’ve done everything for you! Oviously no one challenges these places and their services or lack of . I won’t be back . Not that they care , but I do . I’m the customer mate .

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time @the Dentists today These guys are always amazing, thoughtful and kind but today I had a whole new experience with their incredible new Air Flow technology machine I am a VHS (very heavy smoker) and really suck back the coffees as well so even though I had had the teeth cleaned up earlier this year, clearly this new technology made them look so new and beautiful and in record time as well. A far superior clean in every way. I highly recommend this wonderful team to anyone that wants the best care for their teeth and mouth: these guys really care

The appointment was amazing. My dentist put this stressed out mum at ease. Listened to my worries and dislikes and did his very best to make pulling the tooth has comfortable as he could. Fantastic experience: I am truly amazed at the set of beautiful teeth Dr Tony Lin has given me. From my initial consultation, reception, Brooke and indeed all staff were so friendly and pleasant making me feel really comfortable. The modern professional expertise shown by Dr Tony was a delight to receive. He understood explicitly what I wished to have. During each phase of an involved procedure I felt at ease knowing and watching an expert perform his craft. Another special feature was viewing how technology played an integral part from photography to intimate scanning then onsite mechanical manufacturing of veneers before my very eyes!!! This whole experience is transformational dental wonder. Thank you all and I unreservedly recommend everything and everyone involved!!!

Negative experience: THE BUTCHERS They have taken no responsibility or liability for dislocating my TMJ jaw bone joint.. they have even made me pay them an extra $90 for my 1 xray to see their fault and i must fix the problem they caused myself through a specialist in palmerston north. I Paid the dentist $800 to get wisdom teeth removed... instead of cutting the root straight away they pulled for 30 mins... this continuous pulling, twisting and tugging is how they popped my TMJ joint out of place. It is very painful to eat and im having issues of pain that drops me to the floor in tears... im so angry with this place. It is Chinese torcher at The Dentist in wanganui!! Make sure you get written documents that they will take responsibility FOR ANY DAMAGE BEFORE SURGERY OR YOULL BE PAYING FOR A SPECIALIST TO FIX THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSED. Even then theyll blame it on something else.. they are not honest to deal with. I will tell everyone not to risk it... i have a big fear of dentists... theyve made this so much worse. Go elsewhere. They don't care for anything except money

Fantastic experience: I had a crown done by Sean and was very impressed. He was careful and explained things very well throughout the procedure. Sean and his assistant, Britney, worked together like a well oiled machine. It was a very comfortable and relaxing procedure. The technology was great! Taking images and using a computer to custom make my perfectly fitting crown so quickly! My mate was jealous as he had to go back for another fitting for his crown. I would definitely recommend Sean and The Dentists to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Sometimes it’s the embarrassment rather than the work required that cause hesitation in making an appointment to see the dentist, however Sean Phillips completely removes those barriers along with any trepidation around treatment. Sean (and his chair side assistant Brittany) allowed time and explanation throughout the process removing any fear so it felt more like a pampering session.

This was quite a lengthy appointment and I would like to thank Sean for his perfect dentistry. I now have an excellent "bite". Also a thank you to Bridget for your professional assistance. Negative experience: I would not recommend Sue, I can see now she didn’t have much experience. I’m having to find a new dentist to fix what could have been fixed in my appointment with her. She put a filling in a baby tooth that should have been extracted and $300 later I’m told the tooth should have been extracted and no filling. I had voiced concerns at the time and she assured me this was the right decision. I have then emailed them and she has lied saying she had this conversation with me, but that was regarding another tooth. I’ve wasted my time and money at The Dentists. Very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I went a year without being able to talk without pain. Talking was extremely difficult. After visiting multiple other dentists and doctors they did not know what to do and told me it would come right by itself. It continued to get worse. Dr Adam Durning performed a surgical procedure along side Dr Sean Phillips, they made me feel very comfortable and talked to me ensuring everything was going ok throughout. There work has enabled me to talk again without pain. There work, advise and all aspects of there service was absolutely excellent.

Fantastic experience: A great team that inspire confidence. While I have unfortunately had an interesting run of teeth issues in recent years, Adam and his team have taken great care of me and I have been very satisfied with their work. In particular, Adam’s explanations of options and cost implications as informed by his vast technical experience have been very helpful in guiding decisions. I have recently been looked after by Sean Phillips. Sean is clearly very focused on both detail and quality.
