May I suggest you take on board the feedback that has been given than going on a witch-hunt replying to the bad reviews. I post honest and open feedback using a different name which is my prerogative. Would be zero stars if I could*** Have had treatment from Dr Ken. His mannerisms and bedside manner need work. Devoid of empathy. I would say the treatments were fine but believe him to be very expensive. Only came here for sake of convenience. However, he stated more treatment was needed for fillings. Have shown his text messages to another dentist who could not find what he was referring too when I had an examination with X-rays. Won’t be back, and I suggest getting second opinion if coming here.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Dr Ken Li. I had delayed going to the dentist out of fear of pain but an abscess made me go for long overdue work. Dr Ken was so efficient and caring. Prescribed painkillers and antibiotics which cleared up the infection by the time I went for the extractions last night. I was so nervous that Dr Ken had to remind me to breathe! I was amazed at how quick and painless the extractions were. Was given printouts on what to expect, care after extractions, and tooth care. Dr Ken went beyond what was expected. His follow-up texts and invitation to contact any time should there be any questions are very much appreciated. Thank you so much. Am actually looking forward to my next appointment. His assistant is very nice too, both very polite. ***** After second appointment would also like to add how excellent the fillings are... Fantastic experience: I wish I had found Dr Ken Li 40 years ago. If so I might have still kept all my teeth. He is the very best dentist I have had the pleasure to find. I travel all the way from Northpark, by Botany, for dental treatment with Dr Li. You need not fear dentistry with him. He explains everything that he is doing and is so very gentle. You will not be disappointed. He is a true craftsman.

Negative experience: I had my wisdom tooth pulled out by dr ken 3 days ago by Dr ken .I would say his dentist skills were okay but his interpersonal skills are not good he does not know how to comfort the clients. I felt like he just being rushing not caring much about my pain and my comfort. I will never go to that clinic ever again. He keep texting me on my personal number also which was pretty annoying instead of talking to me face to face.Front staff were good and caring and they helped me.
Dear Valued Patients and Community, We appreciate all feedback as it helps us uphold our commitment to providing safe, ethical, and compassionate care. In response to a recent review, we would like to offer clarification for the benefit of our wider community. The patient in question presented with a severe wisdom tooth infection, significant facial swelling, and trismus (restricted mouth opening), which made immediate intra-oral x-rays and dental treatment clinically impossible and unsafe. As this was his first dental visit, his expectation for immediate extraction under general anesthesia was unrealistic and not appropriate for a general dental clinic. We explained that general anesthesia would require hospital referral and incur a minimum cost of additional $1000. The patient then consented to treatment under local anesthesia. We proceeded with an OPG scan, explained the diagnosis in detail, and prescribed antibiotics to reduce the infection and improve mouth opening. A medical certificate was provided, and we followed up with multiple SMS messages to ensure understanding and monitor recovery. Our communication was always professional and centered around patient safety and care. Two days later, with improvement and trismus all resolved as expected, the patient returned. A full examination and intra-oral x-rays were completed. Under local anaesthesia and after confirming full numbness, the wisdom tooth extraction was successfully carried out in 5 minutes. We also identified severe gum disease and advised appropriate deep cleaning. Another medical certificate and further antibiotics were provided, along with continued aftercare communication to support healing. All interactions — including face-to-face discussions, SMS messages, and treatment — are thoroughly documented with clinical notes, CCTV footage, and communication records. These confirm that we acted with professionalism, patience, and care at all times. Our clinic is proud of the many positive reviews that reflect Dr. Ken’s gentle, patient-centered approach, and our commitment to follow up with patients even after hours — something many people value and appreciate. While we strive to meet the needs of every patient, we cannot always fulfill unrealistic expectations, especially when clinical safety is involved. We believe online platforms should be used for fair and honest feedback, not for unfounded personal criticism. We are also seeking legal advice to ensure that all facts are fairly represented. Fantastic experience: Dr. Ken Li attended to me on an urgent basis. He was able to see me immediately and started me on antibiotics and pain killers. Two days later, after the infection had settled down, I attended (sunday) for the extraction, which although I was filled with anxiety and fear, I honestly did not feel a thing. I would whole heartedly recommend Dr Li for his kind, gentle approach. His support staff were equally kind and caring. His follow up is amazing, contacting me every day to make sure I was alright. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Ken Li for his exceptional competency and professional integrity. I’ve been his patient for over 10 years, ever since his clinic was located in Ormiston. Throughout all these years, I’ve never had any issues with the treatments he’s provided. Dr. Li always takes the time to send a text message at the end of each appointment, summarizing the treatment he performed, which I truly appreciate. Even though it takes me about 45 minutes to drive to his clinic in Pukekohe each way, I still find it well worth the journey.

Negative experience: An uncomfortable experience. I was made to feel very ashamed of my teeth and dental anxiety. When asked certain questions and answering honestly the dentist insinuated I was lying? And was arguing with me back and forth. Basically the dentist was shaking his head at me at every response. I will never return very judgmental left in tears.

Fantastic experience: I went in today for an examination. The assistant and himself were very welcoming and approachable. Examination was very quick and thorough. Everything explained clearly so I understood everything. After the examination I had 3 teeth extracted. I was very nervous but Dr Ken Li was very patient with me, worked very quickly and I'm now at home recovering. I still need more treatments done so I will most definitely be going back for that. Negative experience: Rip-off!! Been here for the first time (and last), very unprofessional. I've had never something with my teeth. Here I got told I had several cavities and decaying that needed to be fixed. The cleaning process was uncomfortable, and painfull (I don't have sensitive teeth). My face got regularly sprayed. And after the 3rd time the lady even stopped drying my face. I never had to ask to stop the treatment (cleaning) but here I had to. I went elsewhere for a second opinion and all my teeth were healthy! Please think twice if you want to go here.

Negative experience: My poor daughter inlaw had a terrible experience with your team today. She was in pain with a half broken tooth and I told her with xmas fast approaching that I would lend her the money as they have a young family to look after. It was embarrassing enough for her to borrow the money but then she was made to feel like a criminal because as soon as she mentioned I was coming down to pay it they stopped working on her tooth. It wasn't like she was going to run away and I was on my way to pay as I live 5 mins up the road. I paid and she had tooth removed, was out within 5 mins and because of your rudeness she is crying her eyes out while driving home to Waiuku. I have never paid up front for any dental work until the job was completed. We won't be back or recommending you to anyone. Thanks for making an honest person feel like a piece of rubbish on the floor. You guys need to work on your customer relationships. $448.00 for 5 mins work wow bet you will have a better xmas than my poor daughter inlaw
Dear customers We spent at least 30 minutes with the patient, which included a thorough consultation, 2 x-rays, discussion of treatment options, numbing, and the extraction itself. During the wait for the numbing to take effect, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the patient's mother-in-law to arrive and make payment. The extraction was performed without complications, and the patient is satisfied with the result. We also provided a complimentary check-up, during which we recommended additional fillings to help preserve the patient's remaining teeth. Furthermore, a prescription was given, along with a sick leave certificate for 2 days of rest at home. As a business, we have ongoing operational costs and bills to manage. Recently, we have experienced cases where some patients have not paid after receiving treatment, so we must be more diligent in ensuring payment is made. To clarify, this is not unlike any other business—such as supermarkets or restaurants—where goods and services are paid for at the time of receipt. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Dr Ken and all the staff at tooth care pukekohe. I had alot of anxiety about the condition of my teeth and was put at ease instantly when meeting the dentist. Dr ken was attentive and listened to my requests, he also maintained contact to keep up with the healing process and go over everything I needed more information on. He was very kind and polite, not to mention incredible dental work. His dental nurse is lovley and welcoming and always with a friendly smile. The reception staff are great also, overall I am beyond happy with the treatment I received A very welcoming and kind practice.

Not only that they are very reasonable price but best part is Dr Ken followed up with me via txt to ensure I was taking medication as instructed and to see if I was ok. Highly highly recommend.im surely going there again for all my dental procedures.
Fantastic experience: Dr Ken looked after me for a wisdom tooth extraction. I was feeling really nervous but he made sure I was aware of everything that was happening and reassured any of my worries. Very happy with Dr Ken’s care. He is the best!

Fantastic experience: Husband had bad tooth ache, rung to see if he could get appointment asap, receptionist was very helpful, manage to get him seen this afternoon , being a public holiday was great , The Dentist was Ken Li, Husband was very happy with him, & even checking up after a couple hours .Would differently recommend.
Fantastic experience: Haven’t been to dentist in while had anxiety about it! But this place is the place you want to go to especially when you have anxiety from the front desk to the dentist you are greeted with kindness and reassurance! You feel at ease here! I had a toothache and a tooth extraction I had Dr Ken Li and he is amazing! He made me feel at ease! The whole process was simple and calming! I thought I’d be in more pain but it was painless! Even after my appointment I was sent a follow up text which I appreciated! But I will forever be going to this dentist and forever choosing Dr Ken Li thank you guys so much!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Dentist. Needed an urgent extraction, booked online and was able to find a slot the same day. They were running late but stayed in constant contact and still took me well after 6pm, they close at 5pm! I had the utmost of professional care and service though-out. An extremely hygienic and professional service. Not something anyone ever wants to have to have done, but if you must, I'd recommend Dr Li and his team to anyone. Prices were as advertised on the website and even had personal aftercare followup that evening from Dr Li txting me himself. I'll be using these guys as my regular dentist from now on. Thanks team!

They are very thorough with pain relief to ensure the work is as pain-free and gentle as possible. Dr Ken Li also always follows up afterwards to check how you’re feeling. Very much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: No one wants to go to the dentist. It's often painful and costly. I have quite a bit of remedial work to be done (thanks mental health). However there is no judgement here, just a passion to fix my teeth while caring, and with kindness. Everything is explained thoroughly and I love the apologies when plans change - when it's not even their fault! Thank you, such a great team ☺️

Due to covid and being short staffed, we are also disappointed that your call was not returned on Saturday. We have since added a text response on our mobile that the customer should receive in the chance that we are unable to take a call. Negative experience: This is the worst dentist that I’ve ever been to. I was told that I needed a lot of work done on my teeth including 5 extractions. I decided to get a second opinion and was told that my teeth were in good condition with minimal work that needed to be done (no extractions). It’s concerning that this dentist is telling people that they need lots of work done on their teeth, which could be causing further damage in the future.
Negative experience: Not the best experience. Receptionist not very welcoming right from the start. Had a check up with the dentist and shown a list of extractions, root canals and 5x fillings to be done. I was skeptical about this so I got a second opinion with another dentist who did a "proper thorough check" found I just needed a few fillings and two extraction. I was also given a proper teeth clean at the new dental since they didn't do a good job with my clean which only lasted (15-20mins) paying $190+ .

The exam you received with us seems to be a very similar outcome to your new exam that you have received. I am glad to hear you received treatment with a specialist. We do apologise about that your experience with the Hygienist wasn't satisfactory, she also had just begun working here that same month. We can assure you that she will do a good job and is very experienced should you choose to change your mind. If you would like to, the dentist has also offered for you to come in with a support person to show the X-rays and explain this too for free if that would help at all with your peace of mind. Fantastic experience: No nonsense dental care any day of the week. Best parts: less chit chat, unbelievably good pricing, crazy fast service, tells you what they're doing when they're going to do it, willing to help mend a broken tooth after hours on a Saturday. Worst parts: .... I actually can't think of any. Incredibly impressed by the service. I hate chit-chatting with dentists because they think that'll make people more comfortable. It doesn't, it just drags out anxiety longer. This place just gets it done so much faster, gets you seated, does the job, gets you out before you even realise. Definitely going back and bringing my partner too.

Positive experience: 4 start for the Dentist team. The dentist is friendly. Unfortunately, 1 star rate taken off because the lady at the counter ‘Shala’ need more customer service and friendly manner. I notice once I entered in she never say Hi, even I paid money. She never give a recipt. I have to ask her every times for a record of recipt or invoice. Once I walk out she never say Thank you and Bye. Her attitude is unwelcome for me. Hope to see better service from her next visit.

Fantastic experience: Amazing dentist Baljit Singh and the assistant helping . Very nice people! Also the receptionist is very friendly as soon as you walk in the door. I had bonding done on my teeth and I am extremely happy with results and also the price. Was very nervous about the needle and I was comforted and re assured. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Tooth Care in Pukekohe, I had my first two teeth removed on Saturday and I was very nervous and anxious about the whole process and being pregnant added to my anxiety. But everyone was so amazing and Dr Singh and his assistant were professional, kind, caring and talked me through the whole process. I will be going back for all of my dental care and so will my family. Awesome people with even better care thank you.
