Newmarket Family Dental Care

Positive experience: Got treated there then got told to come in to talk about what additional treatment I needed - was told this consultation would be free (which was important to me as I am not financially set). Made time to come in to be told all my work is going to cost $4000 and then got slapped with a $60 charge for telling me....? Aside from that treatment was good, price is average for area, and the dentist is nice. Wild that you can say i'm not your client - my registered initials with you are EM. I think this is a common fee with your practise, but I like the dental nurse I've been allocated so I have come back since this appointment. Its not a bad review just because its not 5 stars, it is just honest.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a really good experience with Newmarket Family Dental Care. They helped me out back in November with some dental work and getting my wisdom teeth removed—it all went really smoothly. I recently went in for a follow-up and the care was excellent again. One thing I do want to mention is that after my follow-up they asked me to pay $420 without any heads-up about the cost. As a student (which they knew, since I’d needed financial help before) that would have been really tough to pay on the spot. Luckily they were great about helping me apply for funding again, which I really appreciated. It just would have been nice to know in advance. Overall though, they’ve been really caring, skilled, and helpful throughout. Big thanks to the team!

Fantastic experience: Met Carolyn at the gym many years ago, started seeing her, Covid came and like most went nowhere. I was at the Chiropractor last Friday morning, she was also there, but I didn't know. Got back to the office and there was an email from her, saying I heard that voice and said I know that man. I had had note on my diary for months to go and see her, I replied to her email then her receptionist called trying to fit me in before I go to Europe on 24 June, nothing available, then Carolyn texted me Sat, come in at 2pm today. Fantastic experience: I had a very very painful tooth ache on a Sunday. We rang lots and lots of dentists while in agony. The ones I got were just closing and didn’t really give a damn. Fantastic experience: It was while I was unwell and staying away from home that a large section of tooth broke off. A family member took me to see her own dentist, Carolyn, whose care could not have been better. Carolyn fully explained my options and not being keen on an extraction I rather nervously chose a repair. I was delighted with her expert rebuilding of the affected molar. She also examined the rest of my aging teeth and discussed possible future problems. I appreciated her care in treating me as a person and not just my teeth. The follow-up call the next day to see if all was well was much appreciated. So, happy with her expertise and her care and consideration, I have continued to return to her with confidence and have been more than happy with my decision. Fantastic experience: Having relented after toothache just got too unbearable I called my eldest daughter regarding her dentist which happened to be Newmarket Family Dental Care. I called at 8am in the morning, they had just received a cancellation and locked me in for a 10:30am appointment. Due diligence was done thoroughly when going over my medical history and throughout the whole appointment my dentist kept me informed of the options. We needed to make another appointment for the afternoon since my medical history took up most of the first appointment!!! Back in with the lovely Selene who went over the next procedure, the reason why it would be helpful and all the risks that may occur. Along with her dental assistant they were kind, gentle, skilled and engaging - I got a molar removed! Didn't feel a thing, sent home with good instructions and I've just come off the phone (the next day) from reception who has just checked up on how I'm feeling!! Not only value for money but service and treatment - priceless.

But this time - my first visit to Newmarket Family Dental Care - I actually fell asleep during a complicated procedure, with no after-effects. Charming people. Fantastic experience: Carolyn pulled out all the stops today, her last day before the holidays, last appointment of the day - ME she didn’t need! Instead of the simple filling repair I was booked in for, I arrived with a cracked bond about to leave me wanting my two front teeth for Christmas. But, bless her, she got stuck in and did a fabulous job to put the smile back on my face. Very happy and highly recommend!

Negative experience: Very poor. The work was okay, but they try to hit you with undisclosed charges. For example. They take a photo of your mouth and say it's for police records (nothing to do with dental work) and then try to charge $25 for it. I had been going to the clinic before they took over. They tried to charge $100 as a "New customer fee" despite sitting in the same seat I had for years. Again undisclosed.

Fantastic experience: I visited this dentist for the first time today for tooth ache. As soon as I walked in I felt welcome. I was so lucky that Selene and her wonderful assistant Savannah took care of me. Both were caring, professional and patient with me, which helped to calm my nerves as I needed a wisdom tooth removing. I will be revisiting in 3 weeks and making this my permanent dental practice. Fantastic experience: My family and I went to New Zealand for vacation. On my second day there I found a very sharp wire poking out of my braces. We searched for a lot of dentists but they were all closed, we then found out that it was a public holiday. We then found NewMarket Family Dental Care. It looked like there was also closed. We started the engine to leave but suddenly a lady walked out. She asked us what we needed and waved us in. Dr. Carolyn Langrell-Read carefully repaired my braces. She even informed us about the landmark Mt Eden and said she was going home in five minutes and offered to show us the way. Afterwards, mum was going to pay but Dr. Carolyn Langrell-Read said we didn’t have to pay. I was really grateful for what this wonderful dentist did and this was a great part of my childhood memory.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked in the door I was made to feel not only comfortable, but valued. Carolyn's team at NMFD is amazing, every single one of them. In particular, Celene did an excellent job explaining what was going on with my teeth, and taking great care to make sure I was given the best treatment while feeling comfortable the WHOLE time, something I have never experienced at the dentist! Fantastic experience: Dr. Carolyn is my favourite dentist ever. I say this as someone that's been extremely anxious about dentists for decades AND speaking as someone that's been in dentist offices in the USA and Japan. If you're anxious, if you're ND (adhd, asd), let her know what you need and you will be given compassion and empathy. I've had several fillings repaired and cleanings. Even when I end up crying or if I flinch, I've been treated with patience and without judgment. If you ask her to, Dr. Carolyn will tell you what to expect during your treatment. She's genuinely compassionate. (Despite my name, I'm a white-passing native from North America. I love this dentist for treating me, an autistic, with compassion and respect but everyone in Aotearoa treats me like a white American, not as Native.)

Fantastic experience: it was very nice experience to have dental treatment at NFDC with dear Dr. Celene, she is very kind, caring and professional. When you start getting service, you feel that she knows what she is doing. So there is nothing to worry about. I also want to thank all nurses and rest of the staff working in there, too. Fantastic experience: Got my tooth badly knocked in a football accident just before Christmas. Carolyn initially saved the tooth and Celene got me through the root canal in what was a fairly awkward injury. Tooth looks like nothing happened to it and treatment was very high standard. Lovely people and I looked forward to my appointments even though I was going through minor dental surgery. 10/10 would recommend as you'll be looked after.

Fantastic experience: I was in auckland for the weekend and had intense tooth pain. We called a couple dentists and Newmarket family dental kindly squeezed me in. Dr Carolyn was amazing. I found Shorab to be patient and informative with me when I was one scared duck....I transferred to CAROLYN LANGRELL-READ some years later when she took over the practice and have never regretted it. Her work has been excellent and I'm definitely not the scared duck I was before! I would recommend her to anyone requiring dental work.

Fantastic experience: I have known Carolyn for more than 6 years and under her care for treating my gum disease. As my teeth was not in a very good condition, I considered extraction of upper teeth and replacing those with dentures. After taking the decision I was really terrified about the painful process of extraction and also worried about how well would the dentures fit and suit me. Carolyn was extremely helpful and provided her expert opinion and guidance throughout the process. Her extraction skill is nearly a painless process and her expertise in setting the denture is unparalleled. The work done by her is of such a high standard that I did not have to visit her clinic for further adjustment. She and her lovely team have exceeded all my expectations in treating my gum disease, teeth extraction and providing me with dentures. She is an exceptional dentist and also a wonderful person who always provides a very high standard of dental job.

Carolyn was professional and empathetic and helped my unfortunate situation. I went for a root canal treatment 2 weeks later. I've always been scared of dentists but then I met Dr. Celene Cai. She's the very best! She even called me to introduce herself before my treatment and discussed the treatment. I've never had a dentist doing this, I was super impressed. During the treatment she's been very gentle and explained everything she did. If you're scared of dentist as me, go to this clinic. You're well looked after by them!

Fantastic experience: Just finished my last appointment with Carolyn and the team, having had work done over a period of time. Everything from simple fillings to tooth extractions to crowns and some work under the gums. Work completed and I could not be happier with the quality and service. This team is the best. I have worked in the dental profession and have experienced a number of dentists, many were very good, but Carolyn and the team are the best there is (IMHO). If you are thinking about visiting a dentist, book with them, and book early!! They are in very high demand.

Fantastic experience: Finding Carolyn was one of the best things that happened to me since I moved to Auckland 2 years ago. I've had my share of bad dentists over the past couple of decades, which was both costly and painful. So when my dental floss got stuck in a problematic filling, I got really nervous with the prospects of seeing a new dentist. As Carolyn was trying to fix the bad work of a previous dentist, the filling broke. My gums were bleeding a lot because of the bad filling, and I had to take more injections so that Carolyn could continue working on my tooth. I got so nervous that my legs started shaking. At this point, Carolyn did two unforgettable things. Firstly, I could see in her eyes that she felt empathy for my suffering, and she did everything in her power to make me feel safe in her capable hands.
