Negative experience: Please consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to a treatment plan with Lumino Dominion Rd, or another dentist. The difference in prices is going to save me >$3,000. That sort of price difference should be criminal and regulated by the government. Instead, it is up to you to decide if Lumino can offer thousands of dollars more in value... Personally, I think it's disgusting.

Negative experience: I had a frustrating experience with customer service at Luminous Dominion road, Mount Eden, particularly with a receptionist. When I called to inquire about the fee for a tooth extraction, I was told they don’t disclose charges over the phone. I then tried to book an appointment for my son with a dentist but was informed that they only have an oral health hygienist for patients under 18. This was surprising since we had seen Dr. Ewen for our son a few months ago. When I requested to speak with the manager, receptionist claimed to be the manager. Her tone shifted, and she mentioned that while she could book an appointment for November only due to being fully booked, they have funding issues from the government, which made seeing a dentist less advisable. This explanation seemed evasive and unconvincing. If it was not for Dr. Ewen, we would left this practice.

Negative experience: I wish I had read these terrible reviews before booking an appointment at Lumino Dominion Road. Firstly, the appointment started 10 minutes late. I was not even told to fill out the form, then was told to fill out the form 10 minutes after waiting so they delayed my appointment even more. When I finished the appointment, I was charged over $50 despite being with Southern Cross. I then called them to find out the total cost of the appointment, the girl on the phone wasn't sure as she was new!!! First she said $210 then $110. They then decided to reimburse my southern cross but not the money to my bank account. The girl on the phone couldn't even do some simple maths. Then, didnt even apologise for charging me incorrectly and theur terrible customer service. OH, ALSO, GOES ON TO LAUGH WHILE SAYING SORRY!! I also don't believe everything the dentist said was correct and reading the reviews here I certainly feel assured to get a second opinion before wasting my money some more and being charged incorrectly again.Hopefully, they even reply to my emails in time and reimburse the money or else I will be calling them everyday !! WORST SERVICE EVER!

Negative experience: Unresponsive to contact efforts to arrange follow up appointment. The dentist was overly-eager to find issues and to offer treatments anyway. For example, he suggested I grind my teeth. Subsequent investigations suggest this is untrue.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Lumino Mt Eden for 10 years now and have had nothing but positive experiences! I have regular yearly check ups with Dr Jenny McSweeney who is amazing. I've also had a wisdom tooth removed by Dr Ewan Yun who was also great, and the hygienists have all be super helpful. Highly recommend - I send all my friends and whānau there too :)

Negative experience: I had a really terrible experience with Daniel, he said I needed a root canal and multiple fillings (costing way over $1000), luckily I went and got a second opinion and found out I didn't need any of the above. Extremely disappointing service, I would not recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Okay edited this cause I cant reply their story.Here is mine. Went to Lumino cause of Massive tooth pain, Doctor said its a bacteria infection into the pulp, needs root canal ($2000)or extraction($500). Gave me antibiotics for the swelling. Called the doctor several times( couldn’t reach her) and asked for many call backs to get some more help from this doctor. No reply. Went to another dentist at New Lynn. Guess what , there no infection, it was just my previous filling was high which lead to tooth pain which was luckily figured out. When I went in to talk to Dr Ewan, he avoided the topic and gave me a full mouth xray and send me home with a list of teeth whiting things that I can get done at Lumino.( bits and pieces missing but…) The worst experience in my lifetime. The Team dont to try fix the problem just get hold on your money. I would suggest going anywhere other that Lumino. Please try any other denstist for a second opinion in your case and you will understand what I'm talking about. kind regards, Deepak

Fantastic experience: I can't rate the team at Lumino Mt Eden (Dominion Road not Village) highly enough. I was too scared to visit the dentist for years but over the past six years they have been so caring and considerate that all that fear has fallen away. My dentist knows her stuff and is very approachable, my hygienist is beyond awesome and helps me deal with some quirks with the equipment by finding different ways to do things, and the front of house staff are friendly, approachable and make sure appointment information is emailed out straight away. Worth traveling for!

I will never visit this place again.. called the receptionist 5 times to request my x ray documents and she was really rude and i still have not got my x ray yet. Please save your money and go to a place with a better value for money or atleast go to a place where they aren't rude to you for no reason.

Negative experience: We went to get my wife’s tooth checked up only reason we went there was because on lumino website it was advertised as after pay payment option. Once everything was done and went to pay to the counter they said they don’t accept Afterpay , they we saw zip pay brochures on the front desk and asked if we could do zip pay instead , again we were told they don’t accept zip pay and only full payments accepted. We had to pay full amount on the spot when they advertised Afterpay on their website and zippay at their location . False advertising Would not recommend to anyone Worst experience we had . 0 star rating

Negative experience: I would give Anna 5 stars as she is the best dentist I have ever seen. She completely alleviated all my worries and was professional, kind and competent. Every experience was painless and I would recommend her to anyone. However, very unfortunately, Karen (the receptionist) is horrible! After some thinking, I will not be returning to Lumino Mt Eden just so I can avoid ever dealing with this individual again. I spoke to her recently on the phone to arrange an appointment, but I ended up hanging up the phone in shock and without making a booking. Karen was extremely rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and condescending. I am from a customer service background, so I understand that she may have had difficulty with previous customers or was just having a bad day... But she had absolutely no reason to take it out on me; I was nothing but polite and friendly the entire call.

Negative experience: Poor customer support. Although I was a customer of this center and made an appointment online, just because I did not answer their phone during business hours to reconfirm my appointment, they cancelled my time and did not notify me. When I took leave and went there, the secretary told me that she had cancelled my appointment.

Fantastic experience: Coming into the dentists slightly nervous, I wasn't sure what to expect - the doctor I saw (Dr Daniel Kamariera) really made me feel comfortable and at ease, and was incredibly professional in his job. One of the nicest encounters with a medical professional I've had yet!

Negative experience: Would definitely NOT recommend Daniel. He tried to fleece me saying I needed 12 fillings and a tooth extraction all for $4000. Luckily I got a second opinion. I actually only needed a clean. No sign of tooth decay and certainly no indication of a tooth eating bacteria he told me I had. He also said if I did not get this work done soon, I would be looking at dentures in my near future. I'm only 58 and I have never had problems with my teeth before. Furthermore, he was going to do this work with no sedation, only local. He even recommended I get used to having dental work done without gas. He also did not show me the xrays that I paid for and kept me waiting between appointments for 3 weeks. I am reporting this dentist to the NZDA.

Negative experience: The dentist (Luke?) who was assigned to look after our kid was not even on the lumino mt eden website. He is definitely not experienced with kid. He made the kid cry and jamming the xray film into the poor kid mouth and gave up after that. He kept talking about being humane and referring us to specialist...just not a good experience for us as a parent. I personally have been for hygiene and receive great service.

Negative experience: The doctor was in a rush and kept telling me he does not have much time so was not able to tell him my entire problem. I booked an appointment the day before for a reason. He spent more time in explaining about the cost of removing my teeth rather than the problem I went in for. Very disappointed to see such big dental clinic performing with such low standards. Would definitely not go back.

Fantastic experience: My appointments were on time. I found the dentist and hygienist to be very professional and caring. Each step during my treatment was explained clearly. I was also educated how best to look after my teeth on a daily basis. The ancillary staff were welcoming and friendly. Reminders of appointment times were both by text and phone. The premises were exceptionally clean and presented to a high standard.

Positive experience: Went to get a checkup and filling replaced. Lady Dentist I saw was very nice and I had no pain during or after treatment. Lose one star because I think they try and push more treatments and kept asking me to sign up to year long treatment plans.
