Negative experience: Stop ripping patients and be more polite with your patients, PLEASE. Very BAD experience with my doctor, ever since when I first started going to the Fono my doctor ( according to the receptionists) charge me with $23 and from there every time now I go see her there’s always a dollar add today was $35 without doing anything. I know for sure for my next appointment that’s she booked for next month it’s gonna be $40 plus who knows, as don’t have money to pay for all of this cos can’t go to work as I’m not fit ( according to my doctor I’m fit to go work knowing that been in and out of hospital ) and no benefit so pls stop, she need to be more polite and be nice to people ( patients with their family).

Negative experience: I’ve been with the Fono for quite a while now and I’ve had no problems but these past few weeks has been so difficult in terms of communication with them. I have been suffering mentally and all I received from their receptionist was rudeness and assuming that I was the one at fault without asking my side or knowing the context. I usually call the nurse to get my repeat prescriptions but there has been complications so I needed to talk to my GP. I have been waiting to be called back by my GP but I didn’t receive any calls so I called their receptionist three times to let them know of this issue. I told them that I have network issues so sometimes I cannot receive their calls and emailing / texting me would be a good way to let me know that they are calling me. The receptionist continue to blame it on me for ignoring the calls and not answering when I have been staring on my phone waiting. I understand miscommunication can happen and network issues are to blame, but please do not be rude especially to someone who is mentally ill and at risk, as you can never know what impact you can do to their mental health.

Fantastic experience: I'm 75 and have lived in many places and had many different Doctors. The Fono, Henderson is far and above the best I've ever been a Patient of. Incredibly friendly, ultra efficient, genuinely caring, spacious and immaculately clean. Very easy to get an appointment at short notice. Love them

Negative experience: Once again i have had issues with a one of the drivers from this organization. Driving in Henderson the young woman driver of one of their fleet cars indicated to turn right at the Alderman drive roundabout then turned left nearly hitting the rear of my car. The aggressive driver then proceeded to follow my car at an unsafe distance and when I had to emergency stop the driver nearly hit my car at the rear as she was inches off my bumper. She then proceeded to overtake me very unsafely pulling up alongside my car yelling abuse at me for her driving infringement and driving along Edmonton rd at 35 kph trying to goad me into a response. This is the second time I have been nearly hit by one of these drivers. I would suggest a driving course for their team as this type of driving from Health organization is totally out of line and will result in a road death from their aggressive driving.

Negative experience: I am absolutely disguisted with the service I have received from the fono Henderson. Since they have done all their material (white alterations that the European dictates it has lost all its appeal. I have been going to the fono for 25 years. When it was the old fono I chose to keep going as it was such a feel good of the Pacifica race. I loved the friendliness of the Pacifica people. Since you have gone over to the white materialist way it's all changed, as it always does with greedy CEO's. I am leaving the fono to a better practice who will see me on time. Every time I go to the fono I can feel the toxic unwelcoming behavior. I wouldn't recommend anyone to the fono. Please look into this. Regards Vivienne Wilson

Negative experience: I have mixed feelings about my experience at The Fono. On the positive side, there are several lovely nurses who are great with kids, and the recent renovations have improved the atmosphere. The doctors are approachable and friendly, and I haven't had any negative experiences with them. However, there are significant issues that need attention. I've noticed that many of the staff, including receptionists, often engage in gossip and irrelevant conversations in Tongan right in front of patients, which feels unprofessional. Booking appointments can be a real challenge; I’ve had to wait anywhere from two weeks to a month, and once there, my wait times have been excessive, with the longest being an hour past my appointment time. Recently, I was informed that I owed money from six months ago, I always settle my bill before I leave and that additional charge apparently wasn’t put into their system until the next day, no one reached out to notify me until now. Additionally, when I booked an appointment for myself and my two children, I requested a combined slot to save time, only to be told that I needed three separate appointments. In reality, my visit lasted just 15 minutes, and I felt that my time and money were wasted, especially since most of the consultation was focused on my kids. I plan to switch doctors once my current issue is resolved. The fancy renovations are not a substitute for addressing these in-house problems. Based on the reviews, it seems improvements are unlikely in the near future. I would advise looking for another practice.

Negative experience: I am writing to express my disgust at the treatment we received at The Fono yesterday 14/8/23. My wife has developed a serious complaint over the week-end. My daughter phoned for an appointment for her yesterday and explaining the situation was told there were no appointments available until 13/9/23 I found this absolutely ludicrous and completely unacceptable. Considering her age and fragility and the fact that we have been patients at The Fono for over 30 years I would have thought we may have been afforded a bit more consideration, instead I find the response we got to be extremely insulting. Believe me when I say I take no joy in writing this response but something does need to be said and it's only yourselves who are in any kind of position to improve the situation and my hope is that you will do so. Negative experience: I was hurt and angry as well after waiting so long to see the doctor but at last walked out .Had an appointment at 11.30am till 12.10pm and no sign of being called. Nurses and receptionist was so nice and I know its not up to them. So many patients came in after me and has been seen by other doctors and gone out. I have lost my hours at work as I went from North Shore . Please do something to fix the problem.

Positive experience: Was my favourite doctors for many years until the last year or two. Had a home invasion, my friend almost died. The Fono sent us all over Auckland, to all these places and wasted our time and we couldn't get a head/skull/brain x-ray anywhere, it's been over two years now, tried for about a year and a half. I needed counseling at another really low point in my life, I had been through a kidnapping, The counsellor they gave me abandoned me and told me she had more important people to deal with who were more actively trying to unalive themselves, I only got one appointment, really upset at what it's like now

Negative experience: I don’t understand why this is for health and social services but you have to be Pacifica for any services here yet they have a whole bunch of Caucasian people working here. Bit rascist and we’re in 2023 now, a lot of Maori, Indian, Caucasian and Asian family need help too. Stupidest organisation I’ve ever heard cause it’s only one lot of ethnicity allowed. Should change your guys name from “the fono” to “the Bolo”

Positive experience: Update I have been contacted by the GP and couldn't have been more pleased with her service. She really went the extra mile. I am going to stay with the practice for now and hope that great service continues. I liked this practice because the fees were affordable and most of the doctors and the nurses were great. Dr L'Ondine Tukuitonga was the best but it's been really poor ever since she left. My test results came back and weren't good but nobody contacted me even to say you need to make an appointment with the doctor to discuss them. When I rang to complain I got the feeling my complaint wasn't taken seriously and that it wouldn't get passed on. I made an appointment to see the doctor that ordered the tests and was told the first available one was a week out so another week to wait! Then, this morning I got rung and told the doctor won't be there that day and I had to reschedule for yet another day later and no other doctors were available either. I took the week off work to deal with my health problems but can't even talk to the first port of call until half way through the week! These guys couldn't organise their way out of a paper bag and I'm currently looking for a new surgery. It is a real shame because I thought they provided a valuable service for the community but not if the patient has to do half the work themselves.

Negative experience: I've been going here for years and the service has gotten to the point where I literally can't get a appointment. What's the point of a doctor who is so over booked you can't get an appointment? They end up telling you to just goto White Cross and pay crazy money to see the doctor. Worth the hassle phoning around to find another practice imo.

Negative experience: Appointments always a week away, clearly too many enrollments. Needs a new booking system. I suggest saving a few appointments from each day instead of filling up your roster, that way if someone needs one on the day they're actually avaliable or atleast can be seen that week not the following.

Negative experience: Have moved my family to another clinic due to a number of issues: - Facility space - Have had to park a couple blocks down almost every time I come in. Car park is usually filled with The Fono marked cars. So good luck if you want to park on-site. Your best shot is parking up at Pak n Save or at Harvey Norman. Not ideal when you have elderly parents or young children to take. - Booking - Ridiculous! Whenever I call to book an appointment the next available slot is either a week or two out. Common issue I see in the reviews. I understand medical staff are under a lot of pressure, but what are management doing about this? - Staff - Nurses were backstabbing other staff members whilst I was in the room. Unprofessional! Also Dr. Malia Funaki is probably the worst doctor you could ever go to. She was rude, didn’t communicate nor ask for consent before approaching me for a medical examination. My sister who went to see her couple months ago experienced the same treatment. Would not recommend seeing her. - On a plus - Doctor visits are affordable compared to other clinics so very convenient for families who are struggling financially. If you have no other option but to stay with The Fono Dr Lu'isa Fonua-Faeamani has been amazing! Hate to leave but it’s best we join a practice who are able to either do walk-ins or same day appointments.

Negative experience: I dont recommend going there for Dental appointment. They still haven't reply back on my email asking about any news regarding my last visit, which was about me complaining about my denture pointing outwards. If you go there with the expectation that they'll understand how important it is for us who has missing teeth to finally have the money do improve the only thing that makes us feel ashamed then sadly they're just gonna play around with you. I've saved up to get the money to pay for my new denture. But now it turns out to be a waste of my sweat. They took advantage of the fact that they're a Pacific dental and a it's affordable. IHope you all will reconsider attending them. They claim to know best, however, it's not them that's wearing it, It is us.

People who go at the same time will be given a different cards. It was the same as last time. Negative experience: The doctors, nurses, admin staff and pharmacy are great but I've been left with no choice but to move to another practice because schedule to see a doctor always seems to be full all the time! It's always between 3-5 days wait! By the time I see the doctor, I already feel fine or don't feel the need to see one. Just unacceptable for me and my family, I also had to move my daughter to another practice just because it's impossible to get a timely schedule for anything.

Fantastic experience: Took my old man here (DENTAL) and the service was great!! Fast efficient and very attentive, in and out in less than 30mins. Dentist was also friendly.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with Dr Malia Funaki. Her bedside manner is atrocious and demeaning. Your code of conduct is that your patients have the right to be respected and to have dignity. Even the complaint to the centre management did absolutely nothing. The only reason I gave a second star was because most of the other doctors are wonderful. Unfortunately, the service from Dr Malia is enough to put me off.

Negative experience: You need to have a crystal ball or predict to know when you will be sick. If you are sick and want to see the doctor today you will get an appointment on the 4th or 5th day until then just suffer or pray that your immunity kicks in and hope you get well. By the time your appointment day comes you are all right and the doctor prescribes you standard medicines even if you don't require it. This is the sad state of affairs. Plus if you complaint about this and raise your voice you get accused for abusing the staff.

Positive experience: The receptionists, nurses, and my GP at the Henderson branch are so lovely and helpful. Dr Lu'isa is the first affordable doctor I've been to in Auckland who actually listens and explains in detail. I feel like an actual human being here. No place is perfect though. I've had confusion with bookings multiple times, however they always make it right in the end!

Negative experience: Wost doctors practice ever. Constant booked weeks in advance - defeats the purpose of getting sick and needing to see a GP. 3rd time me or my children have been sick only to ring and be told there's no appointment until the end of next week (it's Wednesday). Sort it out, absolutely useless.

Negative experience: Bad workmanship. Tooth started chipping not long after the root canal and the male dentist was rude. Also filling chipped away in less than a year and a hole has formed because of this.

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment with Dr. Khareedi - lovely lady! Came across caring and explained everything clearly to me. Even though I’ve neglected my oral health for a long time, Dr. Khareedi didn’t make me feel embarrassed at all! Going back in two weeks and yep chose to go back and see Dr. Khareedi! Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for your service "the fono west" especially the lovely welcoming smiles from the nurses and doctors greeting the patients. I've been observing this during my two visits this week. Just one thing is to pls ubdate your online service pls. We would love to see all the other nurses, doctors' etc profiles on the website even if they are part timer, short term or long term. It is good to know and get familiar with faces (especially names) of people that are looking after us when we come in. I came in today for my test/appointment and I was really impressed with the hospitality and how this nurse served me. I really want to mention her name but I totally forgot. Anyways Keep up the good work guys!! I will visit you guys soon. You guys are awesome. Awesome team friendly environment Where is Elena? The receptionist. I like her she's awesome. Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and hadnt had the best experience with dentists. I was very nervous and almost cancelled my appointment. Mo and the team made the experience so stress free for me and i enjoyed it They did a great job on my tooth and i'm back for more work and have recommended Mo to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Since my childhood, I've had such a phobia about going to the Dentist, with much prompting, I finally went along and met Gigi. I'm so thankful I did, as she put me at ease instantly and talked me through the process. I have upcoming appointments, and for the first time in my life I feel anxiety free walkng in. The Staff are caring and amazing!!

Negative experience: Cold, unwelcoming, do not care and fo not listen to you problems or needs. Nurses are unanle to proscribe medication and onviously there are not enough doctors avaliable. Would not check my babies ears during my visit, so I had to make a whole new appointment gor one simple task. Do not understand patients needs.

Fantastic experience: Good experience at the dental clinic i had the dental nurse explain to me in detail what the procedures were going to happen to me.This happened on all my visits with also different nurse's.The dental clinic is upstairs from the medical which is down stairs.also they remind you by email your next appointment and again as it gets close to your appointment or even call.

Fantastic experience: I have recently transferred to the Fono & I am really happy with the affordability of my appointments, I use to avoid making appointments with my former healthcare provider because i just could not afford it but with the Fono that is not an issue.

Fantastic experience: I'm so grateful with the dental service at The Fono. I had an awful and acute toothache. I went in an emergency and the doctor attended me in the next half an hour. They relieved my pain and performed an amazing job.The prices are affordable so you don't feel to go in bankruptcy for the rest of the year! Thanks

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with the dental service. From making the appointment to the actual visit, the service was good. They communicated well and the dentist was great. I live and work in the north shore but this has become my regular dentist. Would definitely recommend!
