Fantastic experience: Had such a positive experience here! After going to Lakes Care Dental and not having a positive experience, I was a bit hesitant to go anywhere in Rotorua but this was a totally different experience. Really nice wahine on the front desk who pronounced my name correctly woooo. Super informative hygienist who talked me through everything, super gentle and kind with me. Then the dentist (DANNY I think his name) talked me through my X-rays and different scenarios for my wisdom teeth. I’ve never experience so much service and knowledge shared. I would recommend everyone go here. Thanks !!!

Fantastic experience: I just had braces treatment. Now my teeth look amazing and miles better than they looked before. The team at The Dentists were absolutely amazing and assisted me through my 4 years journey (2 years palatal expander, 2 years braces). My self confidence has been totally restored. They were all friendly and cheeful without fail, often having to deal with staff shortages, however remaining patient and gracious throughout. Superstar service all round. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Had one good appointment with them when I needed a filling, but then subsequently tried to get me back to redo multiple fillings without explaining why I needed it done. Felt like they were just trying to milk more money out of me rather than actually provide the service I needed.

Fantastic experience: The team at The Dentist on Pukaki St were amazing! I had an extraction done and both the reception staff (Tara and Sarah) alongside the dentist himself (Danny) and his assistant (Chey) all made such an easy and literally pain-free process. Not to mention they were able to accomodate my needs on short notice - 10/10 recommendation.

Fantastic experience: Went in for my annual clean and check and Gaius was super quick to find teeth that needed attention! He was very helpful and broke down why it was important to do fillings, to further prevent damage and to help minimise pain. The treatment session went smoothly, all three fillings done in 30 minutes - also was kind enough to help me find a Dentist that could help with my wisdom teeth situation. Overall, a very promising Dentist and would 100 percent recommend going to him and the Staff at The Dentists!

Fantastic experience: This is a really good dental practice. I first found them when getting a second opinion. The first practice told me I needed a lot of expensive work done on my teeth. This practice said no, your teeth are OK and we can watch. They get me in quickly when I call and the dentists are really nice. I just had my teeth cleaned ans they look wonderful. Thank you .

Fantastic experience: After experiencing a nagging tooth ache for some days I was fortunate to be able to be slotted in following a cancellation. The experience was a pain free extraction, honestly all the effort was at their end I simply lay back and left them to it. Fantastic experience: I had a tooth that needed to be removed and I couldn't control the pain. My own dentist couldn't see me for another 2 weeks so I called The Dentists on the off chance they could fit me in that day. The lovely receptionist, Tara, talked to one of the dentists, Mia, and she told me she could fit me in the next 5 minutes. When I got there I was greated with a very warm smile and was made to feel at ease by Tara. Mia took me in straight away and with the help of Niamh they removed the tooth in a very professional and caring way. Mia explained everything she was doing and what was happening as she was doing it. Niamh was so kind and caring and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed through the whole procedure. The team at this place are wounderful, caring and very professional, in both their manner and look. I can not recommend them highly enough. I have already made another appointment to have my teeth checked and cleaned. You are all amazing.

Fantastic experience: Danny Lee@ TheDentists, was recommended to me as I had had some horrific dental experiences in the past . Now I look forward to going to the dentist as he puts me totally at ease! I asked him to "future proof" me and he has done an ABSOLUTELY magical job. He is the best dentist I have ever had, really knows his stuff AND fantastic at alleviating any stress. I have total confident in his abilities. ( I am in my 60's but I really like eating and intend to chew my way enjoyably into my golden years!) There has been no nasty surprises as Danny explains exactly what is happening and why these things are necessary. I trust Danny 100%. If you have to wait to see him , it is worth the wait. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Fantastic experience: Less than a week ago I went and saw Dr Mia Chua and her assistant Tammy. Want to say thank you so much for your treatment. I have a tricky wisdom tooth extraction that I knew would take time and careful tectnec to get out. Mia and Tammy were both very informative and put my needs and comfort first during the whole procedure. Like I say the extraction happened less than a week ago and has almost completely healed only needed pain relief first day and was able to attend work that night with minimal discomfort. I highly recommend Mia she is gentle and extremely caring. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Dr Gaius Zhang and Cheyenne, Dental Assistant, completed the placement of a crown on my broken tooth today. Every step of the procedure was explained very well by Dr Gaius so I knew what was happening. Their teamwork was excellent. The procedure was pain free and Cheyenne checked in regularly to ensure that I was feeling comfortable. It was a very positive , successful experience.

Super professional, yet completely lovely, caring, gentle and happy to answer any questions and always making sure i was happy and comfortable. What could have been a very unpleasant afternoon actually left me happy and confident, knowing my teeth where in the best hands.

Positive experience: From getting the consultation to removal of the broken tooth was a long wait (3 months) and $500.00 later is alittle expensive....

Fantastic experience: It is rare I place a review. I first started using The Dentist Rotorua in 2019 after my previous dentist retired. In 2020 I became unwell, swollen sensation around my eyes, double and blurred vision, mild fever and achy arms. Blood test marker for infection was elevated. MRI scan of my head and other test found nothing. Then, during my annual dentist check up the dentist spotted a very small shadow under an old root canal on my Xray and referred me to an Endodontist - it was chronic infection and was the cause of me being unwell. As you can imagine I am very grateful this was seen by the Dentist. Since 2020, I have had three crowns fitted, couple of fillings and the annual clean. Thank you Dr Danny, Dr Maryam, head dental assistant Cheyenne and the team at The Dentist Rotorua. See you next check up.

Fantastic experience: I've been to the dentist three times over the past two years and it's been superb service everytime. The practice has a very friendly vibe. All the workers have been nothing but helpful, pleasant and professional. Dentist Maia and technician Chey performed 4 fillings and one extraction on me today and the whole process went very smoothly. They were both so friendly, taking care to be as efficient as possible while I was in the chair and making sure I was well looked after pre/post. Maia had remembered from a previous visit I liked Ghibli movies and had put one on the above screen to distract me which was a really thoughtful personal touch. She also touched base with me before starting to see how I was feeling about the lengthy process ahead. Chey gave a very informative korero with me afterwards on how to care for my extraction site and what to expect over the coming days. Overall I felt very well looked after and in the hands of skilled professionals. I can't recommend them enough

I'm feeling so much more confidence in my smile these days. As a result, I've been recommending Maia Tapsell & her assistant Chey to family & friends since my very first appointment. After seeing the outcomes of Maia's work, I put aside any thoughts of travelling overseas for further dental treatments, preferring instead to work with Maia to sort thru any dental issues. Negative experience: The day I got my wisdom tooth removed was the worst day of my life. Extremely painful with complications following. Not blaming anyone. May be my tooth wasn't an easy one.

Positive experience: The dentists are good at what they do, the receptionists are not the friendliest and the price is very high, more than other places I've found.

Fantastic experience: So grateful for Dr Mia Chua and her lovely assistant on the day (I didn’t catch her name unfortunately!) for my teeth cleaning. I was so anxious but they made sure I was comfortable, always checked in to see if I was okay and had a really nice conversation with me all the way through. Dr Mia recommended some great products which was really helpful. Her assistant talked me through every step of the process as I had my teefies cleaned! I feel so much better about the whole experience now and will absolutely be back in the future.

Fantastic experience: Last year in 2022 I had an abcessed tooth and my Dentist had retired. Lucky for me The Dentists Rotorua were able to take me at short notice and I feel so fortunate to now have Dr Natasha Manuson as my Dentist as her services are outstanding. After that initial appointment my personal plan for restoring my smile and protecting my teeth for the future was made up and everything was explained fully with all the options, different procedures and prices in writing for me and presented in a way that I could make decisions about which option was the best. Natasha is very professional, takes pride in her dentistry and is so gentle and thorough I always felt well looked after, and her assistant Niamh was very kind and thoughtful going the extra to make sure I was comfortable. They make a great team and I highly recommend Dr Natasha and The Dentists Rotorua.

Fantastic experience: From having a fear of the Dentist for ever in a day, right from child hood, always making excuses, well that changed 3 years ago when I joined "The Dentist" in Rotorua. I saw a Dentist "Danny", who changed my experience and I now go religiously for treatment or annual checkups. He gave me the confidence, was very informative, showed me the x-rays, explained everything, talked about short and longer term plans. These guys are professional, sincere and care. Fantastic experience: Wow, 100% recommend The Dentist. After several decades of not going to a dentist thanks to awful experiences from school dental nurses, I realised I needed to practice what I preached to our son in regards to looking after his teeth - I overcame my fear and rang these guys. Very understanding and supportive. My first visit was back in August 2021, I had the lovely Charlotte and Maia (what an wonderful team). I have since returned for a check up and for work on an old sports injury. Charlotte and Maia are very supportive. Charlotte explains everything which will happen. Very impressed with The Dentist, from the moment you step inside you can certainly see and will experience that this team is dedicated to your oral health. Fantastic experience: Brilliant service; chipped my front tooth, and was seen and fixed straight away. Very friendly and informative staff. Couldn't have asked for a better service.

Negative experience: The young dentist I had was very nice and did a great job. I was referred to a more senior dentist to advise me on further work I was interested in getting done. His attitude was the opposite, he was very busy and even though the appointment was booked, I had to wait for ever to be seen. He eventually rushed through my consultation, he was off-hand, dismissive and obviously had no interest whatsoever in what he was doing. I have actually never experienced that sort of service from any professional before. I would never go back.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this dental practice. I had most of my worn down front teeth built up by top technology called dental abrasion. I was so impressed by the procedure and the team work between the assistant and dentist. My teeth look great and I will be going back in the future. Efficient staff all round. Well done !!
