Fantastic experience: Theo and the team at Thorndon were great. Went in for a check-up. X-rays revealed a cavity in one of my remaining wisdom teeth. Recommendation was to remove the tooth. Didn't need to make another appointment, Theo removed it straight away. Was a little uncomfortable but no real pain. Price was reasonable too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I got a cleaning from Josiah today and he did such a good job. I'm a dedicated tea drinker and had a lot of staining and my teeth looked nearly brand new when he was done.

Negative experience: They are a loot. They book you for wrong appointment and dont do the job. Staff is so rude. I am filling a compaint against them

Positive experience: Had a great general experience with Dr Theo Kay. He's very calm and gentle. I'm giving 4 stars just because we could have waited another 10-15min for the anaesthetic to better do its wonder, before the extraction.

Fantastic experience: I am extremely happy with my smile thanks to Melissa. She knew exactly what I was after and executed it perfectly. I felt very cared for by Melissa and her assistant, they made sure I was happy and really took the time to make sure I understood what they were doing. I won’t be going anywhere else now and have full trust in Capital Dental Thorndon. The price was also very very good! Again, thank you so much. I can’t stop smiling!!

Fantastic experience: Service from the hygienist was fantastic, she found things that others had missed and sorted it all out. A little pricey but worth it for the health of your teeth and gums.

Negative experience: Got recommended to go to Capital Dental by my boyfriend, who had a good experience with them. I had to cancel my hygienist appointment since I realized I’m having a cold, and I’d just got my Covid testing done. I spoke to the receptionist to cancel the appointment which is tomorrow(although it is within 24hrs). The receptionist informed me that this will incur a charge of $50 dollars, and she did not change her mind even after I told her my situation. Not happy, don’t think the outcome is fair and won’t come again.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the superb service of these dentists. Melissa (dentist extraordinaire), Jesslyn (who can ease a tooth out without you even noticing) and Natalie (who has the gentlest touch of any dental hygienist I've ever been to) were all fantastic. Its very competitively priced and very professionally done and they are really keen to avoid pain for the patient.What a far cry from the days of the old"murder house" and the pedal and treadle machines which terrified a whole generation of school kids!. Can highly recommend them.

I ended up needing an root canal after the consultation and have only done the first appointment so far. Theo was great, very good at communicating to let me know what's happening and he has my total trust!

Positive experience: The staff here are LOVELY! I've been twice and have had great experiences both times. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because some of the services you get here (fillings, etc) are slightly more expensive than some of the other dentists I've been to in Wellington. So far it has been worth it to pay a little bit more for good service, plus they are very close to my workplace so I appreciate the convenience.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant - squeezed me in on the same day I booked to re-bond my fractured filling knowing the discomfort it would cause leaving it until the next day. Options for treatment were discussed with me in detail and I was not pushed towards one option or the other. Work was done to a high standard and very professionally for a more than reasonable price that ACC could completely cover. Highly Recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: My 7 year old has always been terrified of any dentist - even the mirror or the air would result in hysterical screaming and crying. General anesthetic was the only options offered to me to fix the 7 holes he had. But Mohammed, through his amazing bedside manner, humour and skill, has fixed all the holes PLUS has built a confidence in going to the dentist. I can't recommend him enough. What an extraordinary feat! I will always be grateful :)

Fantastic experience: I had walked past the Thorndon clinic many times and thought about going in. My previous regular dentist was across the other side of town and I really couldn't be bothered going there. I was drawn in by an awesome sign-up deal, and knew I needed treatment so headed in. I was very impressed with the service. After the initial consult, Theo took me through in detail all the work that would be needed, showing me diagrams and photos of how the teeth were structured. He explained why the work was needed. He took me through the various options and explained the benefits of each. Because of the state of my teeth I needed to have a hygienist session (well, three) first. This filled me with dread because I normally hate having hygienist work done. It's always far more uncomfortable and painful than full on dentist work. But Marija made it a delight. Not only was it (mostly) pain free, but I had some very lovely chats with an awesome person. At each stage of my dental work, I was given full and detailed explanations, and shown pictures of the completed work. Dental work is always pricey, but even so I found the rates reasonable. Especially with their sign-up offer. As many dentists do, I really appreciate the automated text message reminder of my appointment. As one who forgets stuff easily, it was really important. Reception was always friendly and I was recognised as soon as I walked in the door. This kind of personal attention is important to me. Overall, they had friendly, welcoming staff, very professional, and I would highly recommend them. It was also really good to know that, after years of neglect, I am finally taking good care of the teeth I have left.

Negative experience: Actually if I could I would give it -1 star. If you don't want to waste your money don't go to that clinic. I had a horrible experience they have put me though unbearable pain of my root dying and did nothing about it ...here is the email I've sent to the office manager: I would like to complain regarding the service I was provided by your clinic . A friend has referred me to dr Theo. On my first visit I was in the great deal of pain because of my tooth. I went to see dr Theo who did the x-ray and cold test and tapping test . I told the doctor that I think the back tooth has a root canal that needs to be fixed . And during the cold test I also could barely feel it. He however ignored my concerns and initially didnt even want to subscribe antibiotics .then I said what if it's an infection . His original idea was that it's wisdom tooth .then he said only take antibiotics if the pain doesn't go away for a few days . The same day I went home I could not sleep for two nights .I can't believe how much pain I was in . So I called the clinic again and was going to see him that Friday but he left early and also said he will be unavailable till Tuesday as it was long weekend . I was literally dying the pain was 10 out of 10. Then the pain subsides after antibiotics. I came to see him again. He didn't want to take another x-ray of that side of the tooth . I continued to insist that it's. A root canal. Then he agreed to take another x-ray. And it appeared that the root of the tooth has died.so he had put me through that awful pain when this could have been solved from the beginning. I'm deeply disappointed he doesnt seem to understand what he is doing .I'm going to complain about your clinic on social media. I will not leave this incompetency unknown . I don't wish to be a patient of dr Theo and would never recommend it to others. He might be a good person but surely not a good dentist.

Fantastic experience: Very happy (and lucky) to have been referred here, after a local dentist wanted to extract my 12 yr old's tooth - unnecessarily as it turns out. Mohammad did a fantastic job of saving the tooth instead, explaining everything along the way and reassuring my son throughout the process. Wonderful service all round from this friendly and efficient team - will definitely be making them our regular dentist clinic from now on!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant. Mohammed and his team were amazing when my 9 year old broke his two front teeth in an accident. I would recommend this dental surgery for any child, especially if they are nervous . The team had amazing patience and such a caring nature.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Theo and Capital Dental Thorndon. I hadnt been to a dentist in over 10 years. Theo was excellent. I was put of dentists by a previous painful experience, not the chase here. I'm not back on a regualr schedule with this my new dentist.
