Fantastic experience: Dr. Keith and Dr. Shweta - Thank you so much. Dr. Keith enlightened me about my oral health and as per him, he took me on a 'journey to my mouth' and explained everything in Layman. Not only I was given realistic advice regarding my situation but also financial advice regarding what would save me money in the long run. They helped me immediately with the laser surgery which I really was inclined for, w.r.t my wisdom tooth - this was in the first consultation itself. I was going through a hard time since almost 2 weeks until today and had been to another dental clinic who charged me a ridiculous amount of $220 for the consultation and x-ray even though their website said it would cost only $120. But here at Fendalton Dental, my consultation and the surgery which happened in the first visit itself via their prompt action, cost me about $350. I believe their topnotch advice, prompt action and affordability makes them the best dental care around here as far as I know. Also, they are one of the only 2 dental care I am aware of in Christchurch who have the laser surgical equipment. The only thing that I initially found troublesome was the availability of appointment which I quickly realized once I was in the clinic that they were really busy and very much booked - completely packed - so there was no helping it. Anyways, thank you for your prompt help. I am feeling much better now.

Fantastic experience: There is a new patient special $49 for a check up so booked with Dr Shweta and she recommend some fillings and scaling/clean etc. Had no issues during procedure ( just need to get use to my fillings!) and she checked that I was ok all the way. I was glad I found the new patient special as I obviously needed some dental work done. Highly recommend anyone to take up the new patient special and get a check up!

Fantastic experience: I brought my Special Needs Adult Daughter in to see Dr Haneen Alayan for a broken tooth removal.Her and her Dental Assistant were so lovely,empathetic and calming towards my Daughter who has severe Anxiety in regards to going to the Dentist. Dr Alay explained what she was going to do at every step of the procedure to my Daughter,and didn't proceed until she was ready. She made it a wonderful experience for my Daughter ,and I would highly recommend the Fendalton Dental Team as a Dental Provider.

Fantastic experience: I had 2 wisdom teeth extraction here performed by Dr Shweta Gautam, it was my first ever surgery on anything. She provided a really good performance, which lead to me having a pleasant experience I felt so comfortable and safe in her hands, It was definitely worth the money.

Fantastic experience: I had a wisdom tooth extraction performed by Dr Keith Chiang. I could not have had a more positive experience. The procedure went incredibly well and Dr Chiang had effective communication throughout the entirety of the procedure. My own recovery was also smooth with minimal bruising or swelling. I was impressed by the level of care I received throughout the whole process. I am very satisfied with my experience and will happily be referring other people to the practice. I was also very fortunate to meet Dr Chiang's dog, Oreo! He was in the staff room and brought in briefly to say hello post-op.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend Dr Gautam highly enough. I was very anxious about visiting the dentist for the first time in several years and she made the whole process go so smoothly. Great at explaining what's going on while reassuring you. Also, I've never had a more painless and comfortable experience in the dentist chair so she is very skilled.

Fantastic experience: I’m absolutely terrified of dentists due to past appointments with other dental firms, but this is the first time in over two decades that I had a genuinely good experience. Dr. Keith was incredibly polite, knowledgeable and supportive. He made sure my partner and I were well informed of what had to be done and why, and was incredibly patient when I started to feel anxious. The medicine he prescribed to get my infection under control had already started to work its magic which is a noticeable improvement from other dentists (and thank goodness for that, I was in agony a few hours ago). For the first time in my life, I’m not dreading a follow up appointment.

He has a remarkable ability to inspire confidence in his patients because of his thorough and methodical approach. He is very detailed and transparent in explaining the problems as also their resolution. I had a complicated wisdom tooth to be extracted but he did it with an ease. After care was exceptional, he was in contact with me all the time to know how I was doing. Fantastic experience: I recently had two wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Keith Chiang & his team. I found both the team & Dr. Chiang excellent, his communication on the initial consultation & on the day of the surgery were top notch. So much so I did not require pain relief after the extraction. I can not recommend this practice highly enough. I was also pleasantly surprised at the size of the account.

Dr Keith explained the procedure to me at our first consultation and on the day I felt very much at ease even though I had some anxiety about the extraction. It was actually a smooth and easy process. I was followed up the day after extraction with a phone call and then one week post surgery I had an x-ray and check. Fantastic experience: I have suffered major dental phobia my whole life which debilitated me from accessing the treatment I needed in my teen and early adult years. After searching for the right dentist for the last 7 years, and being kicked out of 3 practises in that time, I am so grateful to have met Keith to attend to my teeth. Prior to meeting him, there was a discrepency during my treatment with another dentist practising out of his office which was beyond his control at the time, and could have very easily traumatised me further, had he not dealt with it in such a compassionate and professional manner, gaining my trust and respect. When I finally met him to have a wisdom tooth extracted the procedure was quick and painless and my face didnt even do that weird numb saggy thing it usually does. He is very informative and efficient in all areas and I am actually looking forward to having my 2 bottom wisdoms surgically removed by him soon. I have never had an IV sedation which I would never have imagined would be possible for me, but I trust I am in good hands with Keith and so finally I can be relieved of my years-long suffering. Fantastic experience: Absolutely grateful and satisfied with the help I got here, despite this being my first dental experience in NZ, which means I don’t really have much to compare to. I had multiple sessions, and in each one of them I felt the warmth and friendliness of all staffs, the doctors are super patient and informative, everything went very smooth and neat with great deal of professionalism, all my questions and concerns were all met with nothing but patient explanations and valuable advices. Charges and pricing are also very reasonable and transparent. If I unluckily have to go thru dental problems again, I will wish to be back here for it.

Fantastic experience: I had two of my wisdom teeth removed a few months ago by Dr Keith Chiang. I had a great experience as Keith was very informative and helpful. The fact that I was able to come in so easily if I had any issues post-extraction was a big relief and was very useful. I experienced some pain which wouldn't go away after the extraction and Keith fixed it instantly! Fantastic experience: From my first meeting with Dr. Chiang, it was clear to me that I could have complete confidence in his high level of competence and expertise. When you need to have significant dental work done, this makes all the difference -- during the actual procedure, I could simply lie back and relax, knowing that I was in excellent hands. Dr. Chiang and his staff are also highly professional, personable, friendly, and helpful. Very much recommended if you are looking for a dental surgeon in the Christchurch area or on the South Island (or in New Zealand, for that matter). Update: August 19, 2021: I got a metal-free zirconium implant at Fendalton Dental Surgery two weeks ago and had an excellent experience, one again feeling complete confidence in the hands of Keith, truly an expert in his field, and his friendly and supportive staff. I recommend the practice very highly. In addition, it is probably one of the only, if not the only place at present to get a metal-free zirconium implant on the South Island.

Fantastic experience: I could not be happier with the service I received, the procedure was quick and painless, although with a few unforeseen isues that stemmed from my unique case, however these were handled professionally and quickly. The staff went above and beyond to meet my needs and address my concerns post op as well, always being incredibly friendly polite and patient. 10/10!

I found the whole experience very interesting as Keith informed me about the whole process before the extraction. Negative experience: The front desk staff we're amazing and friendly same with the assistance but Dr keth is horrible. Firstly he refused my first surgery date because he wanted half the payment up front. Once I left I made a phone call and got most of it paid off later the same day. I then had to wait another 3 weeks for my new surgery date without a single call or review of medication when I had a severely infected wisdom tooth. Then come the day of surgery first of all he gives me oral sedation then he goes on to ask me how I'm going to sort out the rest of the payment, he then starts requesting information on an employee at a different dentistry his apart of from a supplier and after this he goes on to discipline his assistants for having lunch when that exactly what he was doing. During the surgery I couldn't feel the little things like the moving of the gums or even the stitches going in but OMG the pain from him grinding at the tooth and the force on my jaw when he was trying to get it out was extremely bad, he wouldn't know if though I was clearly in pain and didn't give me a break he just kept going and got his assistants to hold my head. He is a horrible "doctor" and a worse dentist 100% wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: The front team are super friendly and helpful but I don't think I've ever been so traumatized by a medical proffesional in my life. While undergoing a wisdom extraction I opted for anesthetic as I have a lot of anxiety issues and knew being fully awake wouldn't go well for myself. During the procedure I was completely lucid, feeling everything, in tears and having a full blown panic attack alone with no family to speak for me and struggling to breath and being so drugged up obviously I cant make much sense of the situation or calm myself down let alone make a decision when they asked me to stop. Even after explaining I couldn't breathe and that I was in a immense pain feeling everything several times I got told to stop it or get out.. being under those kinds of drugs with no support and having a full blown panic attack you would think they would be more helpful or sensitive, even just give me a second to breath and explain what they will do next so I don't feel completely out or control but the fact that several people are rushing and pulling in the your mouth while your in tears and having a panic attack is just appalling. I don't see myself trusting any medical professional to see me let alone touch me. Not to mention the extra teeth dr Keith wanted to pull out which have enough room and don't need to be pulled, I will definitely be finding another dentist for aftercare and will deter others from visiting

Negative experience: They told me an simple check up with an X-ray would be 120$, offered a free FREE X-ray then upped the price to 150$ without even telling me why I was being charged for something free FREE, and being unemployed was 3/4 of my pay..... thee only reason you should go here is because its close and open during the lockdown... if by any chance you could go to another DO IT WITHOUR HESITATION you'll get the same thing for alot cheaper

Positive experience: I have recently had extensive work done on my teeth including extraction, and partial plate construction. I have found the service and staff to be extremely professional. I was fully briefed throughout the numerous procedures. I would have no reservations in recommending Fendalton Dental Surgery.

Fantastic experience: I was anxious about the removal of a difficult impacted wisdom tooth, more so than I realised I would be. Not to worry as the lovely receptionist and Keith were able to sort me out with some extra comfort. Post surgery healing was better than expected with only very localised swelling. I wouldn't hesitate in choosing fendalton dental if I have to have any further teeth removals in the future.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, I had a few teeth removed here with no pain and got looked after well.

Negative experience: Although the receptionist may have been friendly I found the dentist who did the removal of my tooth was arrogant and it was an extremely painful extraction even under sedation. The stitches fell out within 5 hours of leaving the surgery. I'm not going back for my check up I'll use my own dentist. Would never recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience: An absolute pleasure from the moment you walk in to a lovely smiling face who receives you warmly until you leave with a job well done. In all of my years of tooth repairs I have never come across a more comforting, professional and personally reassuring bunch of people. I highly recommend this awesome crew of dental legends. I am saying this the day after having a wisdom tooth surgically removed so that has to account for something. I will be recommending to all I know . Cheers.
