Fantastic experience: No one likes visiting the dentist but Dr Ivan made the experience so much easier and less dreadful. A great mix of professional and friendly, listened to my concerns and made sure I was okay during the entire surgery while also explaining what was happening so I wasn't left wondering what the heck was going on. His dental assistant Ashleigh was an absolute gem and helped lessen the nerves about the whole thing. Both receptionists were also super lovely! Overall great experience for a dentist visit. I'd trust Dr Ivan and his team any day!

Negative experience: Huge waste of time and money, cannot believe that I was booked in for an appointment as per normal, what got was a reliever dentist who I had never seen before who talked at me, did two X-rays and said he was “told it’s a check” I’m here for what I always have had in the past, was sent on my way, after taking $60, I was in the chair for 5 mins as they were all running late, I will NEVER BE BACK to this joke.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this dentist! We were just there w the whole family and everyone - especially Ivan the dentist - was just absolutely fantastic! He let my son be present during the parents exams and even got him involved, absolutely could not have done a better job! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Had a tooth removed before Xmas and a wisdom out today. Not a fan of going to the murder house but it's always a nice friendly experience. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment for my little sister via text correspondence last Thursday (28/11/2024) with Ashleigh for 12:30pm today (5/12/2024) with the tooth group mobile clinic at Fraser High School. My sister turned up to the mobile clinic on her scheduled time as I waited in the car and there was no one there. I called Ashleigh’s phone number a couple of times and no one picked up. Then Ashleigh texted me to let me know that’s she’s away and to drive over to the Peachgrove clinic for my sisters appointment. I’m super disappointed with the lack of communication and for not being told that no one would be at Fraser for my sisters appointment. We were not informed beforehand that no one would be there. Super disappointed with the lack of communication, it’s not hard to pick up the phone and let patients know what’s happening or to reschedule to another time/date!

Fantastic experience: Both had my wisdom teeth removed and had a cap done by the team here. I'm not the biggest fan of dentists but I felt comfortable here. Nice easy and lovely to deal with.

Fantastic experience: I can not recommend this place enough (I see Ivan). iv had fillings done here and always so happy with the service. I am absolutely petrified of dental work and recently had to get a tooth extracted. Ivan was so patient and understanding, he was so gentle and calming and It was the best experience that it could be. very very grateful.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this clinic enough! I hadn't been to a dentist since 2016 out of pure phobia and anxiety. I saw Ivan as I had some discomfort due to wisdom teeth, he was very patient with me and answered every question I had, and listened when I explained my fears. On Monday I returned for wisdom extractions, a few fillings and a clean, I had oral sedation and Ivan and his assistant were so lovely and gentle. The staff here are so professional and understanding of anxieties, even the ladies on reception are fantastic.

Fantastic experience: Best Dentist Experience Ever! Had a Root canal completed today. Cannot recommend these guys enough. I went to Flagstaff Dental for my initial appointment for pain where Lisa did a thorough check and put together a dental plan where she outlined all my options and gave her recommendations on the best course of action to having my root canal done by Ivan at the Hamilton branch - being an anxious client I felt well looked after and in confident hands the entire time, having a tv to watch also helps to take your mind off whats happening. I have definitely found my new regular dentist and I will be recommending to others. Also a big shout out to the receptionist who answered all my questions and put my mind at ease when I booked my procedure. Super friendly staff all round!

I am a classic ‘scared of the dentist’ kind of girl, but Dr.Ivan and his team always look after me and talk me thru what’s happening. Positive experience: I've visited the Tooth Group twice now and on both occasions I have had an exceptional experience. I like how you can book online. This makes things quick and easy. The Hamilton East branch is tidy and clean (bathroom included). I like how the staff are professional and knowledgeable, they present options without obligations or pressure to accept. They also have a TV on the wall so you can watch while they work. I absolutely loved this. Nothing worse than having to look at a dentist while they fiddle around in your mouth The work they have done on my teeth is flawless. They listened to my concerns and carried out appropriate work. I gave the Tooth Group 4 stars because, I, personally, would like an option for a payment plan (dentists aren't cheap) but payment must be done at the time of service. And also, while I appreciate reminder emails to book in each year, they came more than once which came across sort of pushy. One more thing, was that when they send the reminder txt, it asks you to confirm with a txt message but it charges you for the reply. Over all though, these guys are great snd know what they're doing. I recommend

Fantastic experience: Dr. Christine was as gentle as possible and non judgement.

Negative experience: Had a couple of appointments for dental repairs following an injury. During a tooth extraction, which I've had before, they were really rough and ignored me saying that they were hurting my jaw, face and lip, which they kept squashing between my teeth and their hand. I ended up with a split and swollen lip, wounds inside my mouth by my lip where skin was actually taken off, lots of swelling and bruising to my face, jaw and neck. I found out just after the first appointment that they refused to provide ACC the costs for my claim and their excuse was them saying that 'ACC always declines claims by saying it's decay', so I had to get WINZ assistance. They also charged a lot more than what they quoted me and what their fees in their website are. Within a few months, each tooth they worked on had cavities, one had a couple of cracks and they haven't replied to any of my calls to fix them. I've since seen a few dentists for quotes to repair the damages and they've all said that the extracted tooth could've been easily repaired, that it was just laziness. Thanks a lot.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to The Tooth Group for a few years now, and I have never been to a better dentist. As someone with an irrational fear of dentist's, Dr. Christine Lim has always been so accommodating and very pleasant to deal with, not to mention very patient and understanding when it comes to needing to stop. It's made getting all my dental work a lot easier and less stressful (not to mention the cost is not as bad as other places). The receptionists and dental assistant's are always smiling and engage in conversations, so the overall experience is very pleasant (for going to a dentist, after all). Would highly recommend this dentist to anyone.

Right from the guy at reception to the lovely lady holding my hand while I was shaking in fear. Dr Ivan was amazing. Listened, respected me and understood. There’s just no other place I’ll go to now. It is amazing to go somewhere you feel like a valued cusotmer and I am so happy with the work that was done on my teeth. Fantastic experience: Called on a Thursday with a bad wisdom tooth problem. Receptionist on the phone was polite and helpful and booked me in for the next day. Saw Dr Christine Lim, She was amazing, made sure I was okay the entire time, managed to extract tooth with no pain whatsoever and the cost was extremely reasonable. Very happy. Thanks guys.

Negative experience: Be aware of charges!!! required a dentist due to significant pain and managed to get an appointment within a day. Website states exam and x-ray $60. I had a very quick 10min appt, just a tap on the teeth and x-ray of one side with no confirmed diagnosis. Issued a script for antibiotics (no sign of infection), told if they don't work my only option was extraction or root canal. I stated do you think recent dental work in that area could be too high (recently arrived back from Australia).Answer, does it feel too high? No bite check performed. I was charged $90 for this very quick assessment because they gave me a prescription at the consult? I have tried to discuss this with the management to be told "that's too bad" and they couldn't help me further as that dentist was now on leave until next year. I accept there was a consult fee but $30 for the issue of a script is unreasonable and should be included in the consult fee not extra. I have seeked further advice at further cost and sure enough the bite was too high.

Negative experience: The worst experience of my life. I had a wisdom tooth removed. They were so violent, that they broke my jaw and caused a massive infection. Took less than a minute to rip my tooth out and were pushing so hard on my face that they cut off my airways. Within 24 hours, my jaw and neck had swollen so much I couldn't breathe. Had to have surgery to repair and spent a week in hospital with a drain out my throat. Off work for 5 weeks. Have been left with a scar on my neck, numbness and ongoing pain. The tooth groups response: Not our problem, the dentist was leaving the next week anyway. Could not have cared less.

Negative experience: Very misleading pricing, cost $200 more then what lady said on phone cheaper to go to emergency dentist cost less to get two teeth surgically removed and after hours then here I went here because it was meant to be cheaper

Negative experience: Won’t be wasting money there again. Friends fillings fell out. Charged for cancelling appointments without being told about the charge. Tooth snapped and left in by them. Quick to poke around and ask for money.

Fantastic experience: Awesome was half hour late but I still got in for a appointment waited only 10 mins or less. Lovely quality people, felt very comfortable and relaxed

Positive experience: Fast, efficient and had me in the same day because of a cancellation. Lovely staff, great doctor, only reason for the 3 stars is website pricelist says 100-250 for tooth extraction depending on the extraction. I had a broken premolar removed, process took max 10 mins and I was quoted 250-350 in the chair. That surprised me for sure, especially since 360 was the cost of removing a tricky wisdom tooth in Auckland and 180 was the cost of the opposite premolar in Tauranga (one of the few things cheaper in Tauranga than Hamilton it seems). The cost was 250 in the end but I think they need to adjust their online pricing as that was what was why I went to that practice.

Negative experience: Booked a half hour appointment for my daughters first visit. She was scared and instead of trying to make the experience easier for her they took one xray of her tooth and referred us to a "child specialist" in New Market. No compassion what so ever. Update. The owner of tooth group just called me on a private number to try and get me to take down my review. Obviously trying to suppress the incident and do damage control. At no point did my daughter scream during her visit and she got choked when the dentist tools touched the back of her throat. Of course the appointment is free, dental care for children is free. But you wasted my time seeing my daughter and dismissing her because she was scared. Utterly pathetic.

Fantastic experience: Not usually what any of us look forward to. but the staff here are excellent. Use the technology to keep the treatment user friendly. TV distraction on the ceiling nice bright building. Been a few times now they give us 'Gold card' discount fit us in quick for any emergencies cant recommend highly enough. Thank you

Fantastic experience: After searching for a dentist that was both affordable and friendly, I found The Tooth Group on Google, and just their website alone made me feel that attending at the dentist would not be as daunting as it usually is. Have had several discussions with them before my first appointment about a payment plan (I have always had very weak teeth, and my dental care always runs into thousands) and every single interaction I have had with them has been positive, supportive, proactive and kind. Have now started my treatment, and I don't know why I have been so nervous about going to the dentist. The dentist and staff were professional and kind.
