Positive experience: Was a bit disappointed this time. Got a clean but, for the first time I can remember, no polishing. Also, for about a 20 minute appointment, it was a lot more expensive than I expected. Maybe just having a bad day?

Positive experience: Great service but I'd recommend putting prices up on website so people can see what they are in for before hand, as prices seem to steep compared to some other companies.

Fantastic experience: Really friendly staff. Alot of stairs to climb if your seeing someone upstairs. Every dentist I have seen here, has been great. And the hygenist is great and does a great teeth clean that isnt painful.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. Cassandra is fantastic 2 extractions pain free amazing. And to the Man who makes the dentures perfect fit. Would highly reccomend this team . Happy Easter to you all.

Fantastic experience: Just had 2 teeth pulled. OMG it was very nearly a pleasant experience! Brad Chin. Great service and very gentle. Pricey, yes but you definitely get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Recently I visited Carpenter's and mentioned a lump on my tongue. Jared had a look and told me I should see my doctor as it may be cancer, and it was. My doctor made an urgent appointment with the PN Ent clinic who confirmed it was stage 2 cancer. After the things went quickly. It was obviously an urgent matter. I have had lesion removed in an 8 hour operation and it's fair to say if Jared hadn't been candid with me the outcome would have been very bad indeed. I can't thank Jared enough and will recommend Carpenter's to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience, the best dentist I’ve been to in terms of pricing and the workman ship was outstanding . The girls on the front desk were very helpful and knowledgeable. Will certainly be going back for all my work as being new to the area I was looking for a dentist .

Fantastic experience: Absolute star service. Needed an emergency appointment and they fit me in almost straight away. Wisdom tooth needed to come out and 2 days later it was gone. So thankful

Positive experience: First of all thank you to Bradley for your amazing and professional service with my tooth extraction on Friday night and to the young lady who assisted you. You were clear and direct with your information and both really friendly and I'm in almost no pain. I've not had the best service in the past here, however this time it was a little frustrating as I rushed from work in the rain to make my appointment, arriving ten minutes early then having to wait a further 25 mins for some emergency patients who I was compassionate about and patiently waited. I completely understand people have worser circumstances, I just feel that it's a little unfair that you'd charge patients $60 for being late or not cancelling in time when it's ok for a business to make patients wait for ages on their time. By the time I was out it was freezing, dark and raining. Other than this I am happy with the service which I received this time.

Fantastic experience: Would give more stars if I could. As someone who for years has had a fear of visiting a dentist I found myself desperately needing one! Talking to the receptionist about my fears and anxiety, along with my issue she put my mind at ease and assured me the visit would not be as harrowing as I imagined. The next day I was seen by Dr. Brad Chin and I can't speak highly enough of his chairside manner and that of his assistant. I needed a big procedure and Dr. Chin explained step by step what we were going to do, along with any follow up steps including full disclosure of price etc. My fears had been for nothing, I felt zero pain and was greeted warmly by all involved at Carpenters dental from reception through to dental assistant and Dentist. People like these at Carpenters dental really make you feel welcome with their warm welcome and non judgment.

Negative experience: Need to do better with emergancy care for clinets even if its quoted or not

Negative experience: Poor contact after leaving a message and then be told I should have phoned before 7.30 for a emergency appointment which I had and left a message. Then contacted later that morning after being booked earliest appointment 28th of December ☹️

Fantastic experience: Best dentist iv ever had for care and personality very welcoming from reception to the dentist and assistant and really friendly and considerate unlike past dentist who can come across cold. The care was great even used numbing gel before the needle as im a wimp with needles in the gums and had some pretty awesome tech iv never seen before and the workmanship was top notch she was awesome the outcome exceeded my expectations left me feeling id happily come back in future something id never felt about past dentist's.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency extraction done. Everybody, from the moment I walked in the door, was so warm, welcoming and comforting. I was in so much pain but felt immediately in good hands upon talking to the lovely receptionist and was in the same amazing hands throughout the whole process. Expert technique from the dentist, as was not looking like it was going to be an easy task..... but within 15 or 20 minutes I was walking out the front door and in considerably less pain than I walked in. Amazingly wonderful people!

Fantastic experience: If I could give more stars I would. I have had such terrible experiences at the dentist that completely put me off. But recently I had to get a tooth pulled & carpenters came highly recommended so I gave it a shot. My partner came in with me because he seen how I was treated at the last place. But from the moment we walked in the receptionists were amazing & friendly. I had Sophia and her lovely assistant, they both made me feel so comfortable talked me through every step, encouraging me every step of the way and made me feel in control. I didn’t feel a thing. I had to go in again for another tooth I didn’t need my partner to go in and I wasn’t that worried because I trusted Sophia. Once again they were amazing. For the first time in my 37years of life I finally found a dentist that I loved.

Fantastic experience: Broke a last molar crown. After a couple of calls to other dentists (Carpenters had closed) who stated they couldn't fit me in for 2+ weeks, I called Carpenters, and they fit me in the next day. Dr. Kyle is great. He and his tech made sure I understood what was happening and what they were doing, and they were considerate of me. I'm not a great patient, so I truly appreciate the time and care. This dentist has up to date equipment (amazing scan instead of x-ray). Office staff is terrific and accommodating. No complaints at all! ( The new crown is fantastic and was manufactured on site)

Negative experience: I'm sorry i rang this dentist twice on Thursday got a automated message telling me my phone number and I'll be rung back no call from them my tooth broke on the weekend so I've been in a lot of pain poor communication

Fantastic experience: Had a hygiene appointment / teeth clean with Bridget last week and was very pleased with the care provided. Ticks all the boxes for me, friendly staff, thorough clean with great attention to detail taken and a gentle overall process. The cleaning was very thorough, firm where needed to remove plaque but overall a gentle and a comfortable process. Very careful and considerate workmanship. She explained the condition of my teeth, areas I can improve in terms of brushing / flossing practices and what I should be aware of without being preachy or critical. I do appreciate a firm but gentle approach that avoids yanking or hard scraping and that was very much achieved. It would be hard to do any better, well done.

Fantastic experience: What kids dental clinic and the hospital dental care could not solve within months (cracked tooth in a child, which required a root canal) Carpenters dental fixed within 24 h of hearing about it. We had not been with them previously, and Carpenters had been suggested by my dentist (when they themselves could not help) and amazing Tia. I cannot stop highlighting their kind, friendly, uncomplicated and lightning fast service, in what was a stressful, complicated, and bureaucratic matter.

Fantastic experience: My first appointment with Carpenters after moving back to Palmerston North. A recommendation from a friend, and I was so thrilled with the way I was welcomed and the expert and quick procedures done today. Lovely staff and very happy with my Dentist, as I am gagger from way back, so was a little apprehensive, however, need not have worried. Very impressed.

Fantastic experience: New to Palmerston North 15 months ago and needed a dentist, tried the franchise company that I was with previously and was disappointed. A friend only had positive things to say about Carpenters Dental so in I went. Friendly reception staff and an appointment booked. Initial work was discussed and completed; then today further restorative work completed. Jared and his dental assistant were just superb, two short appointments today and my smile was restored.

Fantastic experience: Recently I had extensive restorative work done, which involved porcelain crowns and bridge all completed by Brad Chin. His workmanship and skill is totally outstanding. After going to a rural dentist for many years there is no comparison. I just rang this morning for urgent appointment as my son is suffering from severe tooth pain. I rang everywhere and everyone says we are fully booked but Carpenters approach me in a different way even though you are booked up they asked me the situation & see what you can do. I honestly, did not expect that you will call back as you say then got an appointment right away. In this, I was already pleased. Then came to the clinic, all the receptionist were very accommodating. Didn't wait for long. Then Dr Bradley Chin is the best! This is my son's first tooth extraction and you did well for my son first experience (I am more nervous than he ) And thankyou so much for your generosity, it really means a lot. Definitely, your service is highly recomended.. More power and all the best.

Fantastic experience: Firstly, it's really hard to put into words exactly the difference that Brad and the wider Carpenters team have made to me. When I was ten I smashed my teeth on the monkey bars. Snapped them - my front adult teeth were all left even and nerves exposed. I was given a disprin in water which hurt like nothing I have ever felt and from then on my stress and anxiety when going to any dentist was huge. Even the smell of walking into the dentist made my heart race and my tummy hurt. For 44 years it has been the same. I only went to the dentist if there was pain and only then if I couldn't bear the pain! When my crown snapped off at the end of last year I was terrified of what was going to have to happen. The fear of walking around looking like a pirate and frightening people was the only reason I needed it fixed! And so the process began, first with the essex splint (and we all know what fun that was) then Glenn popping in the implant. MJ designing the teetht. Then the process of making it all happen. Then the other teeth that needed something. In all of this I became a 'regular' at Carpenters and my anxiety diminished with each visit. Luckily we had masks because I developed a severe hate relationship with my essex splint which I had cut to size (mistake) and chewed (mistake) and tried to adjust as was annoying (another mistake). But here I am 9 months ish later with new teeth.Teeth that look normal. My front ones are longer than the others and normal! I was told that would never happen and I would look like bugs bunny with buck teeth if they were longer - but they are longer, I aren't a bugs bunny and I can't even believe the difference, but the difference isn't just the actual teeth (which I must reiterate look amazing) but the difference is in the change in me. I don't feel sick when I see a message from 'carpenters'. I don't feel worried when I park the car outside, nor when I smell the 'dentist smell'. I don't have to take anxiety meds (not that they worked anyway) before I go in. I actually am OK going in and knowing that everyone is working together for my teeth and wellbeing. That in itself is priceless. Thank you for the care and courageousness you gave me. Thank you for understanding I was a chicken and thanks for explaining everything as we went.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dental clinic. I had called in for an emergency appointment for a really sore tooth - got an appointment on the same day, 40 mins from my phone call. The dentist (Dr Sophia) & assistant (sorry I didnt catch her name) I felt were very competent, confident and friendly. I didn’t even feel the local anaesthetic being injected. I had my xray, she quickly identified the issue, had my 1st root canal treatment all done in the same day done within 30 minutes. Thanks also to Emma (receptionist) for being a bright friendly face & being helpful!

Fantastic experience: Clare at Carpenters Dental is absolutely fantastic!! The best dentist I have ever dealt with and I am never concerned or anxious about attending my appointments with her as I know she takes great care of her patients. She is so friendly, professional, thorough, gentle and efficent and is always running on time. One thing I have not experienced from anyone in the dental or medical field before. Negative experience: Shaved too much off one tooth (lower right premolar), now my bite is ruined. Should never have been done and I fully regret going. Can't 'unshave' whats done so now my lower left premolar (untouched) has disproportionate pressure when trying to close my mouth fully. Was told that it'd adjust to the change; over a month in and I wish I had the original tooth back as it was.

I haven't long moved to palmerston North and I wasn't a big fan of going to the dentist but I am now. Negative experience: 3 months ago I went in to get a sore tooth looked at. I felt the dentist didn't listen to me, as he set about taking 3 xrays and advising me to book into the hygienist before seeing him again to get fillings sorted? and so I booked in as recommended. A month (of putting up with this sore tooth, I get in with the Hygenist ($120) thinking it will be followed up with the dentist as we spoke about that day!? No I have to wait another month before I can get treatment. I finally get in and express my displeasure, when I am told I could have got in earlier if I needed to get urgent work done (I'm thinking I told you a moth ago it was sore???) I have 2 fillings done ($860). Towards the end of the consult, the dentist tells me one of the fillings has a 50/50 chance of surviving (I wish I was consulted prior to treating that as I would of had it taken out) and a month later, I had an urgent apt to have that tooth extracted as it was dying ($280) and was told I need to book yet another appointment as it appeared as one of my fillings has come out (But I wasn't told what tooth or has it definitely come out?) and it's hard to think/talk of all the right things when you've just had a tooth pulled and your mouth is numb!!! Money making business if you ask me and don't really care anymore. I won't be going back again!

Fantastic experience: After years of avoiding the dentist because of bad experiences as a child, I could not recommend these guys more. Not only do they have the pain free wand (years of having fillings without anaesthesia because of fear), they are honest, they are extremely well priced and incredibly caring.
