Negative experience: As a long time patient I was very disappointed with the ordeal I had on Tuesday afternoon. I know the procedure was rather complex but I was shocked at the dentist telling me to breathe through my nose and not to swallow, keep my tongue away ( mouth numb so unaware) and that I could slide my jaw along but just wasn't doing it. All while having the spreader uncomfortably in place for about 40 mins. I have had many root canal and reconstruction appointments over the years but nothing like the experience I endured that perhaps should be brought to your attention.

Fantastic experience: Dr Dan Jahnke at Lumino's is awesome. He fixed an issue caused from another location. I highly recommend, he is professional, intelligent makes a good atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: I had an accident damaging my Dental Bridge. From the moment I contacted Lumino Kerikeri, their care and professional service was just amazing. Not only they done excellent work on my new "Smile" but also assisted me all the way in all the complicated (for me) paperwork. Special thanks to all the Staff, especially Jeremy Stevens... Fantastic experience: Could not recommend a better dentist! I am someone who suffers from sever anxiety which leads to myself fainting. Simon is amazing at what he does and always makes sure I am at ease whether that means sedation or simply good clarification and an easy conversation. Negative experience: MY EXPERIENCE IN KERIKERI LUMINO DENTAL CHAIR: - The hygenic dental was an incredibly short time of 15 minutes. I am sure some of my teeth weren't touched, she said I might need to see another Hygienist! - The dentist made a noticeable gap on each side of one of my front teeth while doing the hygiene cleaning - She asked if she could shorten my 100% natural bottom front tooth to have the top front tooth composite filling fit. A dentist had once told me, this is a no no. - That top front tooth has ridge lines because the composite wasn't smoothed properly - I had to remind her to take material out of my mouth. She laughed saying, it would have come out eventually, but then couldn't get it out and had to use the drill. - A composite filling didn't bond properly initially - I was told I had gum disease when two weeks later a dental specialist said he thought it was just a bit of inflammation - The manager's attitude was hard to deal with. She gave me another hygienist appointment which wasn't much better than the 1st and eventually around $300 refund for the tooth composite that initially didn't bond properly. It did not and does not equal the experience. I emailed the heads of Luminos with no response from them.

Fantastic experience: I had two crowns done by Michael and his team. I have a history of issues with dental work due to heighten sensitivity, nerve paths and slow reaction to anesthetic. It was the first time i have been to Lumino and i was very nervous. Michael was empathetic, listened and did an excellent job. I was relaxed and pain free through the procedure. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I need to post a 5 star for Dr Michael and his assistant Sally. They have both been amazing with me and almost made me "not scared to have dental treatment!" I'm stoked with their kindness and quality of care. Not to mention picking up on an issue that has meant I can keep my teeth! Thanks guys I am so grateful and very thankful to be eating real food this morning...although my waistline may not be grateful!

Fantastic experience: Really happy with my experience with Lumino. My initial appointment was really thorough and was much less than what I budgeted for with xrays included. My 'big' appointment today as a nervous patient went really well for me and as it was a very long one Tess and assistant kept professional and friendly, even funny throughout all that time. And! The cost was the same as the quote!!! That doesn't happen often!. Great work! Many thanks

Negative experience: I had treatment done to all my teeth. They were nice people, however during treatment I feel asleep. I woke up front tooth filling was done but my tooth plate for 1 front tooth was rammed and forced in my mouth on top of new filling in front tooth. Later on my filling fell out and part of my repaired tooth broke. The job was very expensive and I've tried to go back and get them to fix their job up but they never reply to my emails or give me an appointment to repair their damage. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: I received a reminder notice for my one year check-up. So I called to make an appointment today and was told 'The next available appointment is in MAY!' Are you kidding me? Way to run a dental business...

Fantastic experience: We needed an emergency appointment for our 6 year old son, as he had injured two of his teeth, which needed to be pulled out. We got an appointment almost immediately! The whole team was super supportive. The dentist was able to calm our son down really well, and despite him initially needing two local anaesthetic injections before then pulling the teeth out, he didn't even cry because the whole procedure was done so professionally! This was all a huge relief to the little (anxious)patient as well as to his (probably even more anxious) dad! Thanks again for your great work, we will definitely be coming again!

Fantastic experience: I am on holiday and had a filling that was failing so phoned for an emergancy appointment, was given one on the day which was amazing! I had Michael as my dentist and he was absolutely fab, I normally get very stressed at the dentist but he was lovely, kept explaining what he was doing and made me feel very relaxed. Price was less than I thought it would be as well. Couldn't recommend them enough, thanks so much!!

Fantastic experience: Had work done by Jeremy & Mel, and wow absolutely incredible the work they have done is flawless I’m so happy with the outcome but the real winner was the customer service, top knotch! I’ve never really been a fan of the dentist but they’ve completely changed my mind, answered all my questions and made the overall experience amazing! Highly recommend and also Shivani, incredible service and made me feel comfortable at all times! Already booked in for my next clean!

Negative experience: Went to Lumino Kerikeri o get a bridge and root canal done. Cost around $1600 in March of 2020. Thought that way a fair price. Three months later the bridge cracked and fell out leaving a huge hole in my tooth. I called up seeing what could be done about it. They didnt seem all that concerned that I had spent so much money for the work done to not be of any form of quality Then they inform me that it will be at my expense to fix a tooth that had been worked on only three months prior. Safe to say that I will never be going back nor will anyone I know that actually want dental care, care being the key word. *Edit* My Legal is Arthur Barrar, if you look that up in the system you'll find I had a root canal and a bridge put in. Please respond promptly and adequately and I may take this review down.

Fantastic experience: I've had many experiences with dentists and orthodontists throughout 25 years, Michael Ramsay made my first visit to lumino last year wonderful, he is great and very friendly. He was not like all the other dentists out there shaming you for your teeth. Thanks Michael and Lumino! Jennifer Danks is also a great dentist, she is also very friendly and easy to talk to. Fantastic experience: As a first time visitor I was challenged where to park. From Kerikeri Road the entrance off the foot path was not that welcoming or enticing. Only by walking up the steps did I find a much better parking space - in a carpark I only ever thought of New World's. Both sides have an intercom connection - so access assistance is offered. A toilet at the top of the stairs made my companion feel a lot more relaxed. The getting there belies the awesome pristine, modern facilities, and incredible team members and the services they provide. Excellent consultation, agreed treatment and quick pain-free dentistry. And a new appointment sorted - simply and courteously.

Fantastic experience: I had 5 teeth pulled and a filling done today from Michael and his Assistant. This was the best dentistry work I've ever had due to Michael being gentle, always making sure I was ok and me leaving with minimal pain. He also was very informative about future work I'm needing done and gave me the best options going forward... Thanks heaps

Hands down the best dentistry ive ever been to, from consultation, quote , dental plan and the standard of worksmanship carried out thereafter has been unparalleled in my experience. Fantastic experience: I had an emergency extraction of an infected and broken pre molar, and I have to say Dr Kenny Kim is far and away the best dentist I have ever encountered. He was very knowledgeable of his trade, gave me multiple options for after the extraction to fill the gap left behind. Put me totally at ease and I barely felt the injections or the extraction, it was all over in minutes. When I go back in 3 months time for the denture plate I'll definitely be asking for Kenny personally.

Fantastic experience: I went to see Simon Leith at Lumino's in Kerikeri for a consultation about adult orthodontics. I was recommended to Simon by a friend and I was not disappointed. Our appointment was very thorough and I am happy to say that I have booked to get my braces fixed at a later date. A 3D image was done of my jaw/teeth and Simon was able to give me a quote for the work on the day. The staff are extremely friendly and as much as I don't enjoy going to the dentist usually I am excited about having the work done. Please take the time and go and visit the team at Lumino The Dentists Kerikeri.

Fantastic experience: The day I rang I received an appointment and all the staff were very thorough at ensuring I was completely comfortable. I'm incredibly overwhelmed and joyful at the care I received and will be recommending Lumino Kerikeri to everyone I know.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience from booking the appointment to the painless procedure. I even was charged less than I expected to pay. I phoned to book in for a troublesome tooth that needed a root canal after poor dental work done by another dental practice. I booked in for a week away but called back that day as the pain was unbearable. They were able to see me the next morning. I was so thankful to be seen and to have the work done then. I live about an hour and a half away from the office so I didn't just want to go for a consultation, the receptinist booking the appointment and the dentist understood that. More importantly I trust the dentists at Kerikeri Dental Centre. I originally had Dr Jerome recommended to me by a friend and I have since had the privilege to be seen by both him and Dr Leith. The standard of dentistry, professionalism and patient care is fantastic. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: As I tend to undertake many reviews, primarily Google and Trip adviser I naturally run a critical eye over most commercial contacts. I can say without prejudice I was very impressed with all aspects of the Lumino experience. The service right from the beginning was very professional, courteous and friendly. This made one very relaxed, meeting my Dental professional for the first time. I watched as each patient was met by their respective dental professional, all smiles, some greetings were as if the Patient and the Dental professional were old friends. This was also my experience with Dr McAllister, what a great person, I am actually looking forward to my treatment schedule instead of the usual trepidation that one may have where dental work is concerned. We are fortunate to have such a complete Dental facility in Kerikeri, a one stop shop for all Dental challenges.
