Team Dental provide affordable, no “bells and whistles” dentistry. We aim to keep dental treatments simple, to offer good explanations and to inform our patients of their options. We are competent, friendly, caring and have a genuine empathy. We are good down to earth people offering good down to earth dental services.
Not only do we operate Monday to Sunday, with short lead in appointment times, we also offer emergency dentistry in case of an accident. We have 6 dental clinics across New Zealand, with Dentists in Christchurch, Tauranga and Whangarei available for appointments 364 days a year.

Positive experience: Service was good but charge was higher than quoted, but when brought to their attention, they refunded the difference. They do charge Bank charges which are a business expense and should not be used to clip the ticket for extra charges - this is a nonsense!!

Fantastic experience: Received a quick booking for a repair frontal job. Had a good, friendly discussion on the procedure, followed by an efficient solution as has been the case for several years. Negative experience: Sent an enquiry about making an appointment as it shows on their website. Sent Friday 3:30pm, come Monday 10:30am get a single sentence reply, saying fully booked if in pain try 2nd ave & that was it!! I never said I was in pain, so this was the receptionists assumption, there was no if your not in pain I can fit you in next week, nothing. Just a rude single sentence go elsewhere message. Felt very fobbed off & wonder if it's because I ticked the winz quote box & they don't want to do winz quotes. Otherwise why wouldn't they ring me first & ask if in major pain & so I could have told them I am happy to wait. Clearly not interested in new patients. Dentists may be nice, but the person behind "receptionist" is not very good in this role.
Nikki, We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our Reception team at Papamoa was so poor. The team acknowledge that they should have done better and sincerly apologise for making you feel as if you had been fobbed off. This is not how we treat our patients and we are sorry. The team will do better. Thank you for sharing your experience I think it is good for our Teams to be accountable for their mistakes. We hope you have managed to have your dental problem sorted else where.
Negative experience: My partner Has been here a few times & paid $500 most times for his filling to continue to fall out plus he was told they couldn't pull it out he needed to see a surgeon to remove it so we have changed to another dentist
Bobby, I am very sorry to hear that your partner was not happy with his treatment. I strongly suggest that your partner contacts the Papamoa Branch to discuss his treatment options. Although it is not unusual to refer to a specialist when the work is outside the scope of general dentistry, fillings certainly shouldn't be falling out and we do stand by our work. If they have then are usually replaced at no charge or alternate treatment options discussed. As we don't now who your partner is the Practice Manager is expecting his call.
Negative experience: Noticed below that someone else has mentioned this. I rang and emailed to see if I could get my five year old in and whether they deliver dentistry for children and got a very rude reply with just a short "no". "Go to your school dentist." I'm more than happy to pay the money and all I needed to be told was 'no, we can't help you sorry'. I bet the dentists here are lovely but does the receptionist need to be so rude? Some of us just like to see what other options are out there, which we are happy to pay for. Maybe she could just forward us on to other pediatric dentists in the area?

We have discussed this with her and she is sorry that her response was so unhelpful, and will strive for better in the future. Fantastic experience: My partner needed a tooth removed, we have been to many dentists in Tauranga and Team Dental Papamoa by far exceeds all expectations, managed to fit my partner in for a quote within hours and the next day tooth removed, he was in the worst pain of his life and within a few hours all his pain was gone, and the price was amazing, he has been charged over $500 for a tooth removal at Team Dental Papamoa under $300, we can not recommend them enough. No added pain from the tooth removal and little bleeding

Fantastic experience: My partner and I went to see the hygienist today and had a very positive experience with an amazing outcome. I can’t remember her name but she paid a lot of attention to detail and was very helpful. The receptionist who is currently in training is also so friendly and bubbly- all over this clinic has great service and I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Most affordable dentist so far. Had a filling replaced due to hole developing beside it. They gave me a quote and I ended up paying less. Job was done quickly. Will use this place in future.

Negative experience: Disappointing as twice I tried to book an appointment and I didn't feel welcome the first time I tried. I finally got a hygienist booked for a clean and then received a cancellation call..! Shame as I had turned down other opportunities for this and now I phave to find another alternative. Not great..

Negative experience: I rang to book an appointment for my five year old daughter who was experiencing gum pain. I explained that, whilst we knew the kids community dental clinic was available, we couldn't make their location and availability work with our family life, and I was happy to pay for an appointment with them instead. Sonya, the Practice Manger told me to "stop being stupid" and that they were not interested in helping my daughter.
Negative experience: Would highly not recommend these scammers to anyone.have a price on something and then later on over charged on the original price they gave,then the rude receptionist blamed everyone else and the dentist for the wrong quote” note. If you quote someone something ,that is the price we agree on, the work that was done was exactly the work we were told was to be done i the first place.

We have investigated your complaint thoroughly because it is important to Team Dental that our patients aren’t surprised by the cost of treatment and they have full knowledge of all costs before they consent to treatment. Your partner was quoted $1200 for her treatment, the Dentist made it clear that there may be a slight variation to this depending on the size of the restoration. Your partner consented to treatment and the final cost was actually $1130.00 so less than the original estimation.
Fantastic experience: Mike is amazing I highly recommend.
Positive experience: So I started going to team dental when I moved to the area around two years ago. On a positive note the staff were friendly, however I had a filling done just over a year ago, and I wasn't overly happy with the work as it was so sharp it was cutting the floss every time I was flossing. I brought this up with the hygienist when I went for a clean a couple of weeks later. She agreed and got permission to take the sharpness off it. Fast forward a year and I go in for a check up and they say it needs replacing and quote me $250! So needless to say I wasn't impressed It took a while for the matter to be resolved, but they have completed the replacement Free of charge so that was great just not a great experience on this occasion.

Fantastic experience: I saw the lovely locum Ian. This was the best dental experience ever - it was quick, painless, efficient and affordable. And I learnt that my previous dentist had recommended expensive surgery that this dental surgery said was not needed.
