Hornby Dental Centre

Fantastic experience: Hornby Dental Centre are amazing. I had a dental emergency a few weeks ago and became unwell very quickly. I couldn’t get into my own dentist for a fortnight so my boss rang her dentist (Hornby Dental Centre) and they took me right away and within a few hours I was sorted. Dr Pamela Wong is so caring and attentive and after seeing her once I immediately changed to Hornby Dental Centre. Dr Wong even rang me the next day to check on me. They offer very reasonable prices and the reception team are the nicest people and very prompt and knowledgeable. The dental assistants are a great asset as well, the one that has been present my last two visits has been very supportive and caring towards me. If you’re looking for a decent dentist go here!!!

Negative experience: I took a friend to this dental clinic for treatment yesterday on April 2nd.. My friend told me the whole process would only take 20 minutes, but 40 minutes passed and I had to go in to see how much longer i would have to wait for her as i am running out of time for next appointment myself .As soon as I entered, the lady at the front desk stared at me without a trace of smile on her face, as if to say, "why the hell are you here for!" After anothe 15 mins waiting Another lady on the left suddenly in front of me and spoke to me in an impatient tone, as if she didn't want to know what was going on at all and talked over me The staff at the reception area in this place were all very unfriendly and dismissive, making me feel very uncomfortable. They obviously need more customer service training because their behavior and attitude are completely inconsistent with the requirements of a customer service position. Not Happy

Fantastic experience: First of all, I had a checkup and inspection for my teeth. Dr. Daniel was very thorough in discussing his findings with me, and I also had two fillings done. Additionally, I was recommended to see Amy, the hygienist, who provided excellent care as well. I also had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted, and Dr. Daniel and his team made sure I was well taken care of throughout the entire process, offering great moral support. They were honest, explained everything clearly, and ensured I felt comfortable every step of the way. I am extremely satisfied with the care I received. On top of all that, the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of service you get. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone looking for professional and caring dental care!

Negative experience: I got an appointment notification today at 8:01 AM and later on a call about. I didn't have an appointment in 1st place, but they offered me to reschedule for the 16th of December. So fahr so good. As I came from work, I told my wife about it, and she said that would her appointment. My wife called reception, and the receptionist said there was no appointment. I took the phone and said that I got a message and later on a call about it, and you rescheduled this appointment. The receptionist argued and said no, we called yesterday, I said no, and so on. She would not listen, nor reverse her mistake and straight laied about h mistake. I'm done with such a service, and I will look for a different dentist! Sorry only for Mark. He does a great job, but I can't deal with receptionists who can't admit to their own mistakes and take accountability, but lies to you straight in the face!

Fantastic experience: Ronald and Daniel have been taking care of my dental work for the longest time and I couldn't recommend them more.

Negative experience: Despite spending over $2,500 at this practice in recent months, we were very disappointed by the reception staff’s (possibly Holly) lack of empathy when we called about an emergency toothache. Their dismissive attitude and the offer of an appointment 8 days later led us to seek a new dentist in Christchurch. Although Dr. Pamela is excellent, the reception team clearly does not prioritize patients who have been with them for years. The tooth required emergency extraction and medication for healing. The reception staff could greatly benefit from additional customer service training.

Fantastic experience: Best experience ever!! I have my dental clean with Amy. She’s so patient and friendly! I have sensitive teeth but this time I didn’t feel much pain. She was so gentle while clean my teeth. Keep giving me encouragement and feedback of my dental health. I live in city center of chch. Definitely worthy to drive for 20mins to come visit again!!

Fantastic experience: We have have seeing the dentists here for over 15 years and have always has a good experience. They are easy to talk to while they explain the problem and what they intend to do. They have always been precise with their work as well as their quote. They definitely make smiling easier

Negative experience: I rung to ask when is the earliest possible appointment I could book. The person who answered the phone was abrupt and dismissive so I didn’t bother scheduling one. I just looked for another clinic even it’s far from my house.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Daniel by a friend and went today. What a pleasure it was to have Daniel look after me. He was so professional and explained everything that he was doing. I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Professional, courteous and always kind - price exactly as quoted for my daughter's extractions pre-orthodontic work. I've been going to this dental centre approx 12 years and very happy with their service

Negative experience: Daniel Chan quoted me $170 for a tooth repair. I went back and had the work done. He charged me $200. That was a blatant rip off. I've since found a new dentist that's honest.

Negative experience: Omg what a bad experience I just had with a recepionst called Michelle an what a nasty lady she was with a shocking attitude . I have never had any receoonist in health care that bad in new Zealand. Or well good staff are hard to find.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Mark Wareing for cosmetic dental work at Hornby Dental Centre. I have been going to Mark for nearly 10 years now for check ups, and recently decided to get some cosmetic dental work done by him to fill in some gaps between my teeth. He done a brilliant job and I am so happy with my smile now, it has given my confidence a big boost.

Fantastic experience: I would thoroughly recommend Mark Wareing at Hornby dental surgery. He is a good dentist and has a way of helping patients like me with a phobia. No other dentist would fit me in, in their lunch break to have iv sedation and a tooth removed rather than leave me to suffer in pain.
