Fantastic experience: An awesome Dental Surgery. From x-rays to extractions. Fillings to fittings. No complaints. Anaesthesia is administered painlessly and effectively. Communication is so important for peace of mind throughout any procedure and Dr Colin is so awesome at keeping you informed at every stage. I highly recommend this practice and wouldn't hesitate to go back for any further treatment.

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Windsor dental enough, the staff are amazing and Dr Colin is fantastic, having had bad experiences with dentists in the past, I was so nervous and anxious, Colin is so understanding and makes sure you are ok and keeps you calm and relaxed. His pain free techniques are next level. If you want a dentist that actually gets to know his patients and takes pride in what they do, recommend going to see Colin and his team.

Fantastic experience: I recently had all my wisdom teeth removed at Windsor Dental. Having had bad experiences with other dentists in the past, i am very pleased that i chose Windsor Dental for my extractions. Dr Colin was so patient with me ( i was super anxious). Fantastic experience: I am someone who hates needles and getting any procedures done at the dentist so when I found out I needed to get a tooth extracted I was extremely nervous. The only way I thought I could cope was getting put to sleep but Colin reassured me that it would be pain free while getting the injections and tooth out. On the day I was crying before I even got there but as soon as he saw me, he was very understanding of my nerves and found ways to make me feel at ease during the extraction and in fact I didn’t even know he had given me one injection until after he told me, didn’t feel a single thing. Highly recommend him to anyone who is scared of the dentist like me, he is honestly the best as well as the rest of the staff !

I was super nervous about my first extraction ( not being sedated ) but Colin and his team made me feel so calm that I had no idea when the tooth was actually out, Ive been coming here for the past two years for all my dental needs and will be for the many more to come!!

Fantastic experience: Colin is an excellent dentist, in fact world class, which is why I have been going to him for about 10 years, and I highly recommend his practice. I used to travel from the other side of Christchurch, and now travel from Melbourne. He has the highest professional standards, his prices are very fair, he explains things well, and gives comprehensive after care advice. For example, work done elsewhere without proper reinforcement resulted in a tooth breaking off after only a week, but Colin built a new one on the stump for a fraction of the cost of an implant, and it is still going strong after several years. He is the gentlest dentist you could hope to meet, and I have actually fallen asleep while he worked on my teeth! He has a great team, who in my experience have been a pleasure to deal with, and Colin clearly enjoys investing in their professional development. He would be a great asset to the teaching staff at Otago University's school of dentistry if he joined them (as a teenager I received my dental care there, then trained at the neighbouring medical school). And as a doctor who worked in Melbourne through the COVID 19 pandemic without getting sick, I can also commend the hygiene standards at Windsor Dental as impeccable.

Negative experience: Not only was the service unprofessional and unhygienic but the cost was grossly overpriced. The woman receptionist had poor English and argumentative. Would certainly never recommend this dental practice to anyone and luckily have found another dental surgery where they are lovely.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars for a dentist appointment? What? Seriously the best experience I've ever had seeing a dentist. I'm afraid of needles, don't like pain and avoid dentists until I need extraction. He said he could do the injection and extraction pain-free and I didn't believe him. After the first injection I was shocked as he truly did make it pain free. Tooth was out before I knew it. Amazing service, lovely staff, dental mastery. Patient for life now and I won't hesitate in making an appointment. Highly recommend. AAA +++

They have the newest dentist X-ray machine and once the x-ray is taken it is ready and they explain to you what the problems may be and what is the best way of fixing it. Fantastic experience: I don’t usually do reviews but I hope this helps someone when trying to find a good dentist. I have the BIGGEST fear of the dentist. Because of this I have neglected getting my teeth checked up and take care of for years. Due to severe tooth pain constantly I decided to get my teeth sorted as I did not want to loose any teeth. I ended up having 3 root canals that needed to be done! I was so fearful of the dentist I wanted to be put to sleep. Colin listened to my fears of pain and assured me he would make it pain free which I thought was impossible. My first session with Colin I actually nearly fell asleep as he was completely 1 out of 3 of my root canal sessions. I have been to Colin many times now to get my root canals sorted and every time it is care free. Its just like a doctors appointment you’re in and out. I trust Colin completely and would refer him on to anyone that fears the dentist and is scared of pain. Thanks so much Colin and Windsor dental for making me feel comfortable and safe at the dentist!

Fantastic experience: I have to start by admitting that i do not generally like 'the dentist chair' and have managed to get to quite an age avoiding dental practices where possible. Colin and his team have been treating me for the last month and have put me at ease, been kind, professional and explained each step of my plan carefully. I am in the process of having many filling replaced and some new fillings in a short time frame. I was recommended Colin and his team and have confidence in the great work they are doing for me. I would like to recommend this dental practice to anyone :)

Why go anywhere else when you are in the hands of a great dentist! His present staff team including the inimitable Sara are great !

Fantastic experience: I find that the dental care I receive at Windsor Dental Centre is 2nd to none . Colin Viegas is both very professional & also very personable as are the rest of his staff .. He takes great attention to detail from start to finish, is very calm & calming & I have total confidence in his ability to give me gold star dental care . Although I have to cross the city to go there I find it is more than well worth the effort .

Negative experience: Rude reception staff when speaking on the phone. Cash is king here. The customer is the lowest priority. Have treated my family poorly in the short time we have dealt with this business. I'm someone who has moved around a lot between Dunedin and Auckland and I've never dealt with practice staff like this before. I'm glad I've only witnessed and heard their customer service and only dealt with it over the phone rather than being a paying patient on the end of it. I would literally rather go anywhere else, and we will.

Negative experience: Have been in an out of hospital for cancer investigations and severe allergic reactions over the past few months, going through MRI scans, ultrasounds (multiple) and biopsies. Anxiously awaiting results and dealing with all sorts of related matters on the side. As you can imagine, remembering to keep my scheduled dental appointments was the last thing on my mind during this ongoing ordeal. Having completely missed and forgotten about 2x appointments, Windsor Dental have elected to leave me with a half-finished, pre-paid for treatment (have deposited $1200) and kick me off their patient list with pending refund, minus the missed appointment fees. This is despite having the situation explained to them. Inconsiderate, unreasonable, unprofessional and outright unpleasant. A business that puts money before patient welfare, even in extraordinary circumstances such as this has no place practicing in close community city like Christchurch. Bar extreme cases, they also don't tend to "believe" in pain management medication (note big flashing neon Jesus sign in the window). Very weird vibe. Feels like stepping back in time. Absolutely shameful. --------------------- UPDATE: As Google doesn't give me the option to respond to Windsor Dentists reply - What a polite and detailed response from the practice to this review. While not accurate, it's a much better and more polite explanation than recieved on the phone, although I'm sure this difference in customer service has nothing to do with the fact that this medium is public. My situation was indeed explained to your practice, as was the reason I did not make contact. After missing the first appointment I called the practice, explained why and re-booked. The second missed appointment was the only one for which you recieved a delayed, but in most people's eyes understandable explanation. For the majority of the lockdown period and until recently my partner Ivy and I only shared a phone (using her number) after breaking mine, so my Sim card was only inserted periodically which is why your text reminders fell through the cracks. Ivy was in the middle of trying to explain things to whoever it was she got on the phone from your practice, but kept being rudely cut off. Your response to this review focuses a lot on justifying deducting the costs of the missed appointments from my refund, despite that only getting a brief mention in my original review. I was not complaining about this deduction as it's perfectly reasonable. I was complaining about the fact I was kicked off your patient list mid-treatment for such a minor offence caused by extreme circumstances. Your focus on the missed appointments costs speaks further to my claim that you're more concerned about the financial side of things than the patient experience. Regardless of your own subjective view, my partner and I both feel your handling of this situation has been extreme, unforgiving and outright cold. I don't believe you know what it is to operate as a wholesome, community-minded business. I look forward to my refund and completeting my treatment at a more suitable and professional practice.

Negative experience: Went to this clinic with broken tooth which apointment was for and asked advice about restoration got charged $145.00 for advice and xray then was told that out of time and would have to come back and pay an addtional $265 to fix compliant was made to clinic and least decided to give me full refund and so they should as I to told them i had limited funds before exam had gone ahead At least they refunded me
