Fantastic experience: Yes, it was expensive (it's dentistry, it's not publicly funded). But as someone who hadn't been in YEARS, thanks to a particularly bad dental experience when I was a kid, Stephen put me right at ease. Easily will go back.

Fantastic experience: Betty is a literal tooth saver LOL. I'd cracked my tooth (swallowed it!) and she promptly built what was left, all for a very reasonable price. They are popular and busy but usually keep an "urgent" slot

Positive experience: Don't bother. Signed up to their dental plan. Book in every 6 months to get the clean just for it to be changed. Every. Single. Time. Last straw was it being changed from the 22nd of Feb, to the 8th of March. Then to the 18th of April (2 whole months!). It appears they don't have time for their regulars so don't bother becoming one. Edit 28/3 After contacting head office an appointment was made available for 28/3. Updated from 1 star to 3 star but still mediocre it had to come to demanding a refund to be booked in promptly.
Negative experience: These crooks have been overcharging me for years . Just got an outrageous quote For a clean so phoned around locally and Received a quote for 20% less than you . It was even less than your cost last year The other business is a renowned company Who actually also answer the phone when You call. Stop gouging people like me.

Fantastic experience: In over 60 years I've never looked forward to a trip to the dentist, not anymore these guys are brilliant. I had Dr Betty Ng and Georgina and can't speak highly enough. 1 tooth out and absolutely no pain even after didn't even have panadol. Will 100% be back next year.

Negative experience: Wish i had read these reviews before. Am so disappointed at the charge for a recent visit. Almost $500 for an appt that took 30 mins tops with no anaesthetic. Be careful, get quotes from plenty of other places before you make a decision. I will be looking for a new dentist.
Positive experience: Last visit got reemed.One filling no needle 20 minutes. No discount for gold card.$350.00 Time to look elsewhere!!

Fantastic experience: From all the dentist I have seen across the world Lydia was by far the most caring and concerned about my welfare. I’ve had terrible Experiences from when I was a child and Lydia made me feel calm and well looked after. If any problems arise in the future she will be the first person I phone.

Negative experience: Take care from this person Dr. Lydia McGowan at northshore. This clinic is tricky and money vampire. If you are going to fix or do filling, make sure you pay for what you asked in the visit otherwise you will fall in their marketing traps and your pain will remains and you will pay for stuff you never asked for or even wanted like Xray.. photos.. Blablabla. Be careful and take care dealing with such tricky clinic and people working there... Its all about their business and money nothing related to your pain or your feelings .. Not recommended clinic.

Negative experience: The dentists want nothing but money. I booked to do filling. I told her (a kiwi dont know her name) exactly which tooth i need filling for, and she started taking photo and xray and all the balah balah balah instead of filling my tooth! After that she told me she cant do filling, she needs to put a plan and the plan costs $1204!!! It was simply a small filling for one tooth and she came up with all the bullxxxx! Extremely disappointed at their unprofessional behavior. Never go back again. And dont get cheated.

Negative experience: It feels like I was tricked from their $65 new patient campaign. The first appt was good but all they did was an x-ray to tell you what you need to do, then you need to make another appt for further work. In my case it was just deep scaling that’s needed to be done by their hygienist. I was able to make an appt to see a dentist pretty quickly, but apparently the hygienist is booked out for a couple weeks. Fine. And me being available only in the weekends, I had to wait another week. But comes the day of my appt, I was only contacted that morning the hygienist rang in sick. Fine, although I’m disappointed that there is no relieve hygienist to cover. I had no choice but to make another appt for 2 weeks later. Comes the day of my 2nd appts, I received a call again that morning and was told the hygienist didn’t show up to work. I was pretty frustrated at that time as I had to miss out on an event due to this appt. I was ready to make a complaint and asked the practice manager to call me. Two weeks later, (a week before the 3rd appt), I received a call AGAIN, not from the practice manager who obviously couldn’t care less, but from their (temp)reception who claimed to be a surgeon actually, that my appt next week will have to be cancelled as they no longer have a hygienist on saturday. I’ve been mucked around so many times and had to wait over a month and yet I’m still waiting. It seems that they are very quick to get your $65 initial fee but you can’t get the treatment that you need, yet you’re stuck. For some people $65 is a lot of money and wouldn’t want to go elsewhere after having paid that. Lucky for me, I will now be going elsewhere that is more professional.

Negative experience: I am disappointed with the customer service. I came to recement the tooth crown, after 2 weeks the crown started to move. The crown was recement unprofessionally. I had a gap between the crown and the gum. I definitely do NOT recommend it. I will NOT return to Luminio 100%.

Fantastic experience: Was in desperate need of a good yet reasonably prices dentist as part of my tooth broke. the girls in reception were very polite, made me feel very welcome. The dentist and the DA i saw were amazing, talked me through everything they were doing since i hadst been to the dentist in years they made it a very pleasant experience and i will be back

Negative experience: They have come back to me saying that the treatment I received was not a root canal hence they wont be doing anything to make it right. The dentist indicated it was root canal to me. X ray shows it was incorrectly performed treatment in the first place. Other dentists both in Korea and NZ were saying it was incorrectly performed. I asked for documentation from HDC for investigation they have done for me and waiting to take them to the court. Evidence shows the treatment was incorrectly done and I suffered for years without knowing it. Despite the evidence, they lie and do not make it right. Lumino is not a trustable clinic at all. I hate to waste my emotion and time and its been years but I could not stand with their dishonesty, irresponsibility and one of the dentist making smart comment about my tooth condition made me feel continue to fight with this case. ******* It has been about three years since I have raised my concerns over incorrectly conducted root canal from there. They did not provide any resolutions despite their duty of care. I ended up receiving another root canal at my own expense. The dentists I have seen constantly told me the procedure was done incorrectly and one of them said Lumino should have a duty of care. They dont have any duty of care. If something goes wrong, they do not take responsibility at all. I continued communicating with them and it was not getting anywhere, despite the solid evidence of my x ray. This does not only involve Wairau Lumino but the management who have responded to me that worked in Lumino Takapuna. ——— ***If something goes wrong with the treatment, there is only denial. When I complained to them, their response were very slow from weeks to months. Their responses were full of denial and avoided answering my question of whether it was done correctly or incorrectly, when I had another dentist stating it was done incorrectly and made comments that was sneaky that made be feel insulted). I received a treatment there. I had a serious tooth ache emerging from deep inside the tooth and went to Lumino Wairau and I received a treatment there. Follow up treatment could not be done as the dentist left there and the receptionist I spoke with over the phone said it would not be ideal to have other dentist to treat it. The original dentist was not working at that time however at later stage, he was employed and asked for additional money of $1000. I gave up as a result. Since then I experienced sharp sensations over the course of 2 years. 2 years later I had my tooth x rayed at another dentist and she said the treatment was not done correctly. I contacted Lumino about this and they have not provided any aftercare, rather denied of everything and avoided answering my question of whether it was done correctly or not, where I had two people telling me the treatment was done incorrectly. If something goes wrong, there is only a denial. They do not follow this up. Their response to my enquiries have been deliberately ignored where I had to wait for them to answer for weeks to months, until Health Commissioners advised them to respond to my enquiries. Their responses were not professional, full of denial and made comments thay was sneaky that made be feel insulted.

Fantastic experience: Always have a great experience at Lumino. Sonika and her team are awesome. Had an emergency with a broken bit of brace over the weekend. Lumino squeezed me in on Monday and sorted the problem out in 10mins. Even though i didn't get it put in at Lumino, they helped me out and fixed the problem asap. Awesome!! Was so happy to get the issue sorted. Thank you guys!!

Fantastic experience: Great people! I switched to Lumino Wairau Park because my sister told me that Sonika had been really nice about her fear of dental procedures. When I went to see Sonika myself, she found some serious tooth decay that had gone undetected for years. It was in a tooth that had remained embedded in the gum, and it didn't show up on a standard X-ray because of the position it was in, so even though I had had somewhat regular checkups over the years at other clinics, nobody caught it. Sonika spotted that something was wrong, took special X-rays and found that it needed to be removed. She then referred me to Fraser to have the tooth removed. I was very nervous about the procedure and Fraser was not only very nice about it, he recognised that every patient is different and asked me what I preferred. The reason I left my previous clinic was because while the dentist there tried to be nice, he was "one size fits all" and wasn't really paying attention to how I specifically was reacting to the procedure. So I was really impressed by the attention that Fraser paid to my specific needs. He and Georgette took really good care of me throughout the whole procedure, and the lady at reception was really nice too. (One of the reception ladies also offered to adjust the aircon for me one time when she saw that I was hot from walking to get there.) I live quite far from Sunnynook and don’t drive, but I will keep coming here because of how amazing these guys are.

Fantastic experience: 3 days before starting Chemotherapy I found out that I was not able to proceed due to a toothache which had started a week ago, due to risk of increased infection. A frantic call around dentists and Lumino Wairau was able to fit me in at short notice and saved me from a bucket load of stress. They were able to come up with a suitable solution to fix up two broken teeth that I had foolishly neglected for far too long.. and didn't judge or wag a finger at my incompetence. Sonika and George worked perfectly as a team... friendly, professional, efficient and pain free. I walked out of the clinic a happy man and would've been smiling if my lip wasn't still numb.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever used pins to keep tooth in place drilling three holes in perfectly good teeth to attach pins in antiqued, and painful you shouldn't drill into teeth, that aren't decayed. Shows the limited skill set the dentist Stephen Charles ( this was just before he joined Lumino which means, he hides behind a reputable brand, as my new dentist is also with Lumino) ....but he is unaware of newer technology, using superior bonding ...I am so angry not in one instant did he tell what he would do procedure wise ( unlike my new dentist), as if I was told drill holes in perfectly good teeth I would have refused the treatment. How do I know all this? The tooth came out and a real dentist was shocked .....using pins and also at the decay left behind. The problem with dentists it may look alight on the outside, but you can't see what hasn't been done. I would avoid this dentist at all costs. The reason for one star is can't post unless you pick a star ...I give him NEGATIVE 5 Stars ...I hope someone betrays his trust or ethic .....I wonder how many other people he done this to which are completely unaware?
