Negative experience: The clinical staff are friendly and helpful, professional and compassionate. The receptionist I encountered was not. She was accusatory argumentative and was not prepared to take my booking. At last she realized she had confused me with another patient. It's such a shame. I refuse to go back there to those lovely kind people just because I have to encounter this aggressive unhelpful receptionist

Fantastic experience: Great service. I have been going here for over 10 years. This appointment was with the Hygienist Vaniya Kelly. I was meeting her for the first time but she did an excellent job. Always feel welcome at this place. The receptionist is warm and friendly too.

Fantastic experience: Hi everyone, I received excellent care today. The receptionist Virginia was helpful sorting my an appointment suitable for me.She is organised , warm and welcoming. My hygienist Vaniya, I met for the first time did a first rate job. My teeth are cold sensitive, she was gentle and kind. Vaniya also provided education, making suggestions on improving my routine when caring for my teeth , and cleaning tongue ( who knew).My teeth look great , bright and shiny like new. Cheers June

Fantastic experience: A trip to the hygienist,(Jason- I think) is almost pleasureable here. He is thorough and gentle with his expert skills & gives encouraging advice. I think price is comparative to what is charged elsewhere. I feel like I have given my teeth some TLC post visit.

Fantastic experience: ADNAN SWAID My experience with this clinic started about four years ago, mainly with Dr. Ross beside some consultations from his colleges of the clinic.I went through different dental treatments, cavity fillings, molar restoration, extraction, crowning, bridging, and hygienic cleaning, all the work done proffinaly with easy fees payment when needed. Very nice and helpful staff, especially urgent appointment if needed. Big thanks to all.I strongly recommend this clinic for professional dental treatment and fair price.

Fantastic experience: I love Royal Oak Dental Centre, they care for their clients. I have been with this dental clinic for 2 years; they do not disappoint. My dentist, Joe, is great. He is knowledgeable and honest. The hygienist, Jason, is great too, cleaning my teeth efficiently and showing care. Securing an appointment here is effortless. All staff is friendly, they are kind and patient. 5/5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I just want to shout out for all the assistance the RODC has accorded me with today. I was in pain, agony and so anxious from an earlier dental extraction from another dental clinic in south Auckland. I was crying due to extremely painful and traumatic tooth extraction attempt from that dental clinic in South Auckland. The lovely receptionist quickly consulted one of the dentists and without reservation he (the dentist) wholeheartedly accommodated and comforted me more than anything. He has done a very professional, gentle approach, calm and reassuring intervention. I was only told that his name was Joe. Joe has done it really gently, painless, reassuring and a lot of advise. I wish to apologize that I burst into tears after the intervention as I was so relieved, reassured and taken out of pain, anxiety and agony. I can never thank you enough. God bless you all at Royal Oak Dental Centre.

Negative experience: I've been getting reminders to come back here but I won't because Melissa was way too rough and overall it wasn't a good experience. The reception staff and hygienist were great but too put off so won't be back sorry.

Fantastic experience: So sad to read all the negative reviews, I can not say enough good things about the professionalism and the care that I experienced At Royal Oak Dental. My consultation was with Ross ( top bloke) I had to have 2 major extractions. I had read some of the reviews and was a bit nervous when told Melissa Lowry would do these. I listened to Ross and accepted what he said, Melissa performed the extractions and one of those was extremely difficult as roots were deep and bone extremely hard, Melissa was brilliant, explaining every detail as she went, making sure I was ok, and tending to my needs at all times. I am in recovery and all is going well. Thank you Melissa and team for taking great care of me. I would highly recommend this practice to all that ask BRILLIANT

Positive experience: 20 years is a long time with a dentist and to be fair Ross was pretty darn good. However over the years there was 2 negative outcomes. 1st issue was a tooth bleaching that became abscessed - This ended with a costly visit to Harish the orthodontist. That said all was great for any more years. Then I had a pain that needed looking at so went and got some X-rays that were to be handed on to Harish to check. The pain continues for a while but seemed to subside a little. Meanwhile a separate issue needed attending to - pus coming from my nose (yuk) After a visit to my doctor, I had to visit a sinus specialist a couple of times to find out what was going on...... The sinus specialist was very costly to say the least, he indicated my molar had abscessed and was actually leaking through my sinuses. He then suggested seeing my dentist. I rang Harish that day who knew nothing of the X-rays from months back. I then rang Ross who forwarded the X-rays (better late than never) to Harish. The tooth needed removing asap! So off to see Ross who did apologise admitedly, and then next to Mellissa for a goodbye to my molar! Reading the reviews here did remind me of that few mins in the chair, but hey it's removed and better now. However, I do question - Could I have just had a root canal instead of months of suffering and costly visits to a sinus specialist. I would still have a molar if so.......

Negative experience: Sadly, I also had a bad experience with Melissa. She lacks care and kindness, you can feel her bad vibes and judgment. I already felt embarrassed about my teeth, so no need to make it worse. Sad to see from other reviews that her problems haven't been addressed... I don't feel comfortable coming back here. One star for the pleasant experience with the hygienist.

Negative experience: I DO NOT recommend this dental practice!!! They put a block on my child and refused to see her. They will not treat her because the first time for her having ACC treatment she got quite upset and was a bit tricky to treat… (she has ADHD) she was scared as she had never had any work done as we keep her teeth in excellent condition. I’m absolutely disgusted that they could be this way.

Negative experience: another poor experience with Melissa. I have terrible teeth which I do my best with. I felt humiliated and embarassed. I need a lot of work and her hours are very inflexible which makes me think she isn't really patient focused. If I am going to have spend thousands on a miserable experience, I'm not using annual leave days to do it!

Negative experience: Terrible experience with my wisdom teeth. No pre or post care, no professionalism. The aftercare pain medication directions were written on the envelope with extra gauze they gave me. I ended up going to another dentist to get them checked after getting an infection as I couldn't face going back in and that dentist was lovely! Will never be going back here.

Negative experience: My crown came off my tooth, and I went to fix it. They charged me for $250 for five minutes work. In a month time the crown came off again, I went to fix it, they did but wanted to charge me again which I didn’t accept. It’s been a month and my crown came off for the third time. The crown is healthy, but the dentist warned me last time that I can’t go back there to fix the crown if it happens again unless I pay again. Not recommended.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with Melissa 2 years ago. I came in with a chipped tooth which I wanted to get fixed. The dentist fixed the wrong tooth, which I only realised after anaesthetic stopped working. She only offered some small amount off the price for the actual tooth I wanted to get done! The dentist took no care at all, it was very painful experience. Now, just over 2 years from the teeth being fixed, the other dentist told me that the filling needs to be replaced already. I will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Ross and the team are the best! Personally I would not go anywhere else for my dental care.

Negative experience: I got the worst experience ever with Melissa too. No care and very rough. The way she held my face was more painful than the dentist work itself. At the end of session, she said, " You can go off now!" Why is she allowed to be a dentist in NZ?

Negative experience: I was seen by Melissa Lowery and got the worst experience of my life! . So bad, I wouldn't have believed this could happen in NZ. She took no care, even when I called for her to stop. She didn't even wait for the injection to take effect. She was so so rough. Since my terrible experience , I have heard of others having a similar experience with her. I don't understand why she's still practicing.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to the Royal Oak Dental Centre for many years. Today I had a tooth extraction. Thank you to the wonderful receptionist that got me in at 10.30am on the day I called, and to the two ladies that were so understanding when I was in so much pain. They pulled out a very sore wisdom tooth and I didn't feel a thing. Joe, is my dentist, who was booked out at the time, but is amazing too! Fantastic experience: My teeth were in poor shape so I procrastinated seeing the dentist for a few months , at least. My teeth were beginning to hurt in places so I went into Royal Oak Dentist for a free initial checkup to find what work needed to be done and the overall cost. The price was very competitive considering the amount of work which needed done. I had all of my teeth issues fixed a few days later , 1 hour on one day and another hour the following day. The dentists and general staff at Royal Oak medical centre are all very nice and care about you as a customer and the wellbeing of your teeth. Highly recommended , they're located just off the main Royal Oak Roundabout next to the NZ Post and Ristretto cafe ... upstairs. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: I went to Royal Oak Dental Centre this morning for the first time, expecting a consultation, and walked away with my crown successfully placed. After a long, miserably expensive saga with getting a dental implant and other dentists failing to get parts in time or deciding not to do the procedure, I started to think that it was never going to end. The staff and dentist, Ross, were very friendly, considerate, and helpful despite all my questions and nervousness. The prices are very reasonable and the location is very convenient. Definitely referring my friends here and going back for my dental cleaning.
