I came here seeking urgent dental care for my tooth, with being in severe pain for months, looking everywhere for someone to give me a bit of a break. I was in pain, crying daily, but, Nicole and Dr Richard, you both have given me a chance to live without pain, and I'm forever grateful. If I could give 100 star review and a book to describe how incredible you guys are, I would! My root canal procedure was painless, with Dr Richard, checking if I was still OK regularly, I am extatic that I no longer have to live and endure that kind of pain. Fantastic experience: I am not a fan of a visit to the Dentist. Terence Yu immediately put me at ease. He explained in detail what he advised and I must admit my appointments have been completely pain free and very successful. The ladies on Reception are so lovely as it Terence's Dental Assistant - Finas. I would highly recommend this Dental Practice to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this Dentist. My wife who is nervous about going to a dentist. She was looked after and put at ease firstly by the most friendly receptionist Helena who is fantastic at her job and has the best customer service ever. Then her experience with Richard the dentist was exceptional at making her feel at ease and pain free through her fillings. Brenda the hygienist was fantastic as well and definitely made her feel comfortable thru the whole process. Definitely recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and professional team. My first experience 6 months ago with the hygienist here didn’t go so well as she was quite rough but was pleasantly surprised by the new hygienist during my second experience who was super gentle with me. Being 32 weeks pregnant, the thing I was dreading the most was being extremely uncomfortable given my last experience but this time around I felt super relaxed and less anxious during my appointment.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a dental practice. The team go above and beyond for their customers, and I always feel valued and in good hands there. Although I live 30 minutes drive away I still go to this practice because of this. Terence in particular is an excellent dentist. I recently had my Wisdom Teeth out, and this was done in under 15 minutes, fast and pain free. Hardly any recovery needed the days after. I also couldn't make my original appointment time for this but he found a way to fit me in rather than pushing back the surgery. I really appreciate all that they do there.

Fantastic experience: Hi there.. From the moment I walked into Howick village Dental I was treated with such a level of care and professionalism that I have never experienced before from a dentistry. Richard was amazing and put me at ease straight away as well as being upfront about everything. I also have to mention the girls behind the front desk too! They were amazing and so helpful as my situation was rather complicated and offen logistics would be a challenge however they made everything seem effortless and nothing was too difficult. Fantastic experience: Terrence is the best!

Negative experience: I had my crown tooth fixed with Dr.Terence Yu. He sent me to technician whose "lab" was utterly filthy (see photo 1). After placing a dirty set of model teeth to the side of my lips, I got blisters on the side of my mouth that lasted for 2 weeks (see photo 2). The dentist took no responsibility for it, telling me I should complain with the technician (even though its the dentist that is being paid). The dental office assistant said "its nothing more than a cold blister". No compensation was offered and I had to pay the full sum of $1400 for their "services". If you are looking for a responsible and hygenic dentist, avoid this one. Disgusting!

Fantastic experience: It had been a while since my last check up so I decided to book an appointment at Howick Village Dental. The dental practice was recommended by a family member and I found it to be a tidy and welcoming practice. I saw Richard who was professional and made me feel comfortable talking me through the process. I had an examination done including a teeth x-ray, and to my luck, most of my teeth were in great shape, but he did find a problem tooth that needed a filling. If I had left it any later, the decay in that one tooth would have reached the nerve. Which would have been a much painful procedure. So it was a good thing I had a check-up when I did. He did a professional job on my filling and now I have a healthy smile again. Definitely booking more regular check-ups with these guys and totally recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had a few appointments with them now. Both the dentist and the dental hygienist are up-front with me and explained all my questions and concerns professionally. The charges are reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I used to go here regularly and have always been satisfied with the services. A year has passed and I went back today for a routine check just to find the whole crew replaced with Indian/Asian personnel except for the reception. Unfortunately, I can no longer describe the services as satisfying. The dental hygiene services I received left a lot to be desired. Coffee stains were not removed and in general did the hyginist give an appearance of not being sure what to do next. Some of her questions during the proceedings were actually bordering an insult but may be common in an Indian cultural context. The young Asian dentist looked around my teeth, told me to bite on something and suddenly left the room. Later I realised that he x-rayed my teeth. I would not have consented to that as my last x-ray is less than 12 month old (he would have known that, if he would have read my file) and I have no issues. The worst aspect for me, however, was that no safety precautions were taken during the X-ray. No lead collar was provided nor was I even asked whether I had any thyroid issues that could be affected. The prices are the same as they were before the change of crew. It's a nuisance but I will have to find a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: I have been in NZ for 5 years now and in my experience with dentists in different countries all over the world, Richard and the staff at Howick Village Dental have made visiting their dentist a fun, relaxing and enjoyable place to visit. I went in on one of my visits to Richard regarding an issue, which he promptly fit me in (during his lunch break), and fixed my issue. I was driving over a week later, when I received a surprising call from Richard asking me how I was. I found this extremely caring and professional. If you're looking for friendly and professional dentist that goes the extra mile, and can fix the problem (and explain it in basic terms) these are the guys to visit. Richard and the team at Howick Village Dental should be proud of themselves, and I highly recommend them to all.

All the staff are very friendly and not only do they keep you informed on what's going on, but also how to maintain your teeth at home.
