Mathai Dental Taupo

Negative experience: They did a tiny filling behind my front tooth back in 2023, and it fell out within a year. I rang up as soon as it happened and was told there’s no warranty, and that it’s common for a filling to last only about 3 months — meaning I’d need to keep going back for a new one every few months. Does that make sense to anyone? What a rip-off! Needless to say, I’ve never gone back since.

Fantastic experience: I have a serious complex when it comes to dentists. Many traumatizing stories. But I'm pleased to say the team at Mathai Dental have officially squashed that. Very gentle. Listens to your issue, I just had a massive broken molar removed in 15 mins. We thought it would have to be surgically removed and would be lengthy, but he got it out in one pop. Very impressed. Even reception really tries, she goes above and beyond for those in need. I feel at ease going here.

Negative experience: Spent over 3k here. Fillings didn't even last half a year and neither did root canal. Do not recommend. Go else where. Price will be alot cheaper for a better done job.

Fantastic experience: Had an issue with one of my wisdom tooths, which many dentists felt was a bit complex since the tooth had grown in an awkward direction. Dr. Praveen successfully performed the extraction, and there has been no complications since.. I would highly recommend his services and appreciate his professionalism and attitude towards patients.

Negative experience: I rang to book as a new patient and was in the process of receiving an appointment but when I said I was from Taumarunui the receptionist stopped making the booking and said that they didn’t take patients from Taumarunui and that now they were fully booked !

Fantastic experience: My last visit to Mathai Dental Taupo was a life changing experience as the procedure I had involved lasted more than an hour with some crowns and bridges done. I can tell you I felt no pain during the whole procedure including the needles. The dentist and his assistants were wearing Covid-19 masks all the time and they have transformed the procedure room which I have always perceived an entropic abyss into a pleasure. As we have more phones than bones nowadays, I recommend everyone that needs a dentist to go there as they are the best in terms of service they do and the pricing. I no longer have any fears of going to them again knowing the entire office is there for your every need !

Positive experience: Hi all ,i have very good experience with Mathai dental ,very economical,friendly staff.my wisdom tooth take off was smooth and pain less .

Negative experience: Basically everything this dentist did has had to be removed and redone by a proper dentist. A cap had to be cut off and replaced as it was put on crooked. Decay was found under a filling. I could carry on but wont I wouldn't go back to this dentist if he were free!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend these guys. I just had my wisdom tooth taken out (turned out it had wiggly roots!!). Fantastic experience: Just had my first appointment with Mathai Dentist. What we thought would be an easy tooth extraction, soon became a mammoth surgical extraction lasting over an hour and half of pushing ,pulling and drilling and several viles of local anaesthetic . But I can honestly say a Huge Thank You. Yes I'm sore and swollen but the whole team was amazing.

Negative experience: had my teeth cleaned and 2 days later a tooth chiped as i was eating food that they did not pick up on (continuous) got a email from them not to long after telling me never to come back and no refunds

Negative experience: Got here and was sitting in the waiting room for someone to attend to me for half an hour. People kept on walking past me like I’m not there... debating if I should even bother getting my teeth fixed here.
