The Dentist on Kelvin

Fantastic experience: Had to have a tooth extraction. Dentist on Kelvin were emergency dentist. Took me that day. Can't say enough. What an excellent team. Was made to feel really comfortable, they explained every step, options and best procedure for best outcome. If they were taking new patients I would be pleased to be accepted. Thank you so much.

Negative experience: 2 weeks ago, I was there on an emergency appointment. I explained the dentist about the sensitivity I was feeling while having cold/hot water in my mouth. The dentist & his assistant seemed very friendly, however, their service wasn't good at all. I left there with so much of pain and bleeding gum. I've had such a terrible experience that I'm still in pain but am so scared to go see another dentist. Also, the cost was way too high for this kind of treatment. I'm very disappointed :(

Negative experience: This place is usually so good. However this time I got a Chinese lady who I’ve never seen before and she was horrible. I had a swollen gum over my wisdom tooth as it didn’t have enough room to grow. While she was cleaning it she was poking it and it was really sore and I go no reassurance form the actual nurse doing it however the assistant or like the other person helping her was really nice whilst it happening. The Chinese lady also gave me 0 information about the tooth being infection and I was made to ask questions about what was happening she was telling me nothing and basically just leaving me with questions as if I was a mind reader. The assistant was really nice tho really glad to have her there. Will be requesting not to have this lady again. Worse dental experience I’ve had so far.

Fantastic experience: I can't speak highly enough of the Dentist on Kelvin and their staff.I had quite a lengthy job done recently involving 3 dentists, Louisa, Amy and a new dentist from Christchurch (name I didn't catch) Everyone, including the chair attendants were so professional and friendly and explained everything so well to an old guy!. Thank you ladies!

Negative experience: Just got told I was only an emergency patient and never on the books at clinic. Will never go here again. They were great with my severe anxiety and now having an attack because I have to search for someone I feel comfortable with. So disgusted. I was never told I wasn't on books until today. I should have been told on 1st appointment that I was not on books.

Fantastic experience: Dr Blake is by far the best dentist I've ever been to 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Quick, as painless as possible, so good at reassuring fears - her nurse/assistant was also extremely good :

Just had a tooth pulled today...found the Temp Dentist Bruce to be Very through ..knowledgeable and gentle..was also pleased with how all options were presented to me. Fantastic experience: See Dave! He is the man and will make you feel completely relaxed and not at all guilty about those lollies you had for breakfast. Dave does a great job of talking you through exactly what he is doing and why. This is great because it calms those nervous and creates confidence in his abilities. My favourite dentist to go to.

Fantastic experience: Visiting NZ for a month in early 2017 and the first week I chipped a front tooth on a gingersnap cookie! We were in route to Invercargill from Dunedin so I did a bit of research and contacted The Dentist on Kelvin, in hopes of getting an emergency appointment in the next 48 hours. They kindly scheduled me first thing the following AM (so I didn't have to hang out all day just waiting for my appointment). My dentist was Brett Fitzcharles, a young Scotsman who was very reassuring--he explained the chip and he thought it unlikely I would cause further damage to the tooth before I went home if I were careful, but I opted to have him rebuild it anyway. He did a lovely job (remember, this is a FRONT tooth, so I was worried) and it's been a few weeks and no issues. The price was very reasonable--less than I would have likely paid in the US since I don't have dental insurance. I wish he were my at home dentist! It's a souvenir of NZ I'll always have with me ;-)
