Fantastic experience: This clinic is fantastic. Nice modern building . A warm welcoming on arrival every time by reception staff Who are also very professional Abd easy to talk to. I go here for both seeing the Doctor and Dentist who are fantastic and make you feel very comfortable. Both are easy to talk to and go out of their way to explain everything to me . Doctor Teo also makes sure if he has sent you for a scan blood test, etc. To let you know the results and the best plan of action. I can easily say that this is the best medical center I've been to here or overseas

Fantastic experience: LEGENDARY local establishment! I was drawn in because they could see me on the day that I called (big ups) went in with some issues and just by soaking in the atmosphere in the waiting room I knew that I would be cured in about 5 seconds. This is the kind of place you make up health problems for. Don't believe any negative review of this place, all the staff were amazing in my experience. I felt some of the complaints in the reviews were preposterous, these guys are working hard in a stretched health system guys life's hard enough without internet strangers critiquing how loud you talk on the phone I also wanted to ask the doctor what his workout routine is but ran out of time on my appointment and didn't want to waste his time

Positive experience: This is a small, relatively new clinic with great potential—and it shows. The building is fresh, clean, and modern, and the nurse I saw today was absolutely lovely: professional, kind, and genuinely caring. She really made me feel comfortable and well looked after. It’s just a shame I can’t give 5 stars, because I genuinely would like to—especially as this place is still new and finding its footing. But unfortunately, my experience was significantly soured by the front desk receptionist, Sue, who displayed one of the worst attitudes I’ve encountered in a customer-facing role. No greeting, no eye contact—just an unfriendly stare. When I initiated a polite “Hi, how are you?” I was flat-out ignored at first, and when she finally did respond, it was with a dismissive tone and a needless fuss over the appointment booking. While waiting, I also overheard her taking phone calls in an unnecessarily loud, rude, and demeaning tone. It was genuinely uncomfortable. That kind of attitude is not just unprofessional—it damages the clinic’s reputation before a patient even makes it to the consultation room. It’s also important to remember that many patients may not speak English fluently, and a more considerate, patient, and respectful approach at reception is essential in creating an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone. Honestly, if I had been a prospective client or someone visiting for the first time, I would have seriously considered walking straight back out. First impressions really do matter. To be fair, the other receptionist was perfectly pleasant and helpful, showing exactly what good customer service should look like. I’m still giving 4 stars because the clinic itself is excellent, and the nurse was outstanding. But I seriously urge the management to take a good, hard look at the front desk dynamic. That one negative interaction overshadowed an otherwise great visit—and that’s a real shame.

Fantastic experience: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Today (Easter Sunday)I was suffering from chronic toothache, it was so bad I headed to after hour to get help. I tried contacting multiple dentists with no luck. Just before giving up I tried these guy. They answered the phone strait away, when I explained my predicament, they got me booked in within a hour. When I arrived I waited no longer than 15 min before seeing the dentist. The dentist quickly advised the best action, and completed a pain free temporary fix. Not only did she initially stop the pain but saved my tooth. It’s now 9pm and I’m still completely pain free. I can’t remember the last time I had such good service. I highly recommend these guys. THANK YOU!!

Fantastic experience: I need urgent check re: elbow pain may current gp earliest available booking is for next week which is >7 days, rang the clinic reception @0930H and booked for 3pm same day appointment. My original plan is just to have casual visit to this clinic now i enrolled after seen and examined by Dr.Teo Clinical assessment well explained Plan of management ,review next week and courteous to his patient.

Fantastic experience: I have had two excellent experiences at 1 Health Doctors Dental, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! My first visit was due to a urinary tract infection, and I was fortunate to be treated by Dr. Bernard. He was incredibly attentive and thorough, providing me with various options to address my issue. Thanks to the antibiotics he prescribed, my UTI was resolved quickly. He also took the time to address my eczema, offering solutions that were very effective. Most recently, I visited the clinic for a dental emergency when a small piece of my tooth fell off. I was quite panicked, but Dr. Jennifer handled the situation with remarkable professionalism and care. She was gentle throughout the procedure, consistently checking in to ensure I was comfortable and experiencing minimal pain. Thanks to her skillful work, my tooth is now fixed, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Overall, my experiences at 1 Health Doctors Dental have been outstanding. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to patient care. I truly feel I’m in good hands here!

Positive experience: Good health check when I was there but I had to follow up to get all the results shared to me (never got the results of my tests until i contacted them and they had forgotten to send the script to the pharmacy). Told me to come back next year for another complete health check (my results were fine), when my partner, who went to menz, was told to come back in a few years when he turned 40... They were very efficient when I called a month later to get everything sorted.

Fantastic experience: I felt very uncomfortable, and after communicating with the front desk staff, I was able to directly make an appointment for a consultation that afternoon. The doctor was very serious about figuring out the possibility of illness for me, and I fully recovered after a week. 1 healthy is definitely my most recommended GP in Christchurch.

Negative experience: Would give no stars if possible! The doctor himself was forceful about prescribing medication. As well as when I declined the offer, he asked me what I wanted as if he couldn’t offer anything else. Then resorted to giving me the crisis helpline contact information when I have no feeling of committing suicide or suicidal thoughts. He also prescribed antibiotics without checking with swabs to get proof of the cause and what was actually needed. I left feeling unwelcome, overwhelmed, unheard and frustrated with his attitude switching when he realised I had a decent issue with bleeding because he had another appointment due. But I only wanted advice on what it could be and that is when he prescribed antibiotics without checking to see what the issue was. Was very unhappy with the treatment and in the instance I walked out their door I walked straight into another doctors to enrol. The prices are extremely high and I feel he booked out double appointments for me and charged me without my knowledge and I now have a high bill there after going under 5 times have paid $95 and had a redirection of my benefit of $30 a week for the last 4weeks. On my last appointment I was told I owe over $200. And there is no way the appointments should have left me with this incredibly high bill! Am extremely disappointed in the way this service has disregarded my mental health and disrespected me as a stressed out single mum of 2 under 5 year old children. Good luck if your signing up here. ALOT of people have left here already within the short time frame they have been open. Absolutely disgusted.

We would like to clarify that our enrolment policy outlines that we provide suitable consultation durations based on the complexity or number of issues to ensure comprehensive and effective resolution of all concerns during your visit. This approach is designed to minimize rushed consultations, promoting a thorough examination, and facilitating adherence to scheduled appointment times for the benefit of all patients. We do charge for longer appointments if a patient refuses to leave before all their additional issues are sorted, even if a longer appointment was not originally booked.
Regarding the treatment plan, we aim to offer the best care based on the symptoms presented, and we regret that this was not your experience. Often, when a patient declines our professional recommendation, we ask about their goals or desires from the consultation to ensure we can provide the most appropriate care.
We also apologize that we do not offer Community Services Card discounts. However, we did assist you with applying for the Disability Allowance so it would cover your costs fully, as long as this was set up. All our fees are clearly outlined on our website.

Fantastic experience: I just transferred from a very large medical centre to 1 Health in Wigram. after weeks of trying to find a GP my partner and I were very pleased to be accepted here as She works just around the corner. I thought that was great. When I had my first appointment today I was very very pleased with the service. There was tons of parking off the street. The newly renovated practice was absolutely beautiful. It was exceptionally clean, tidy, warm and inviting. Nothing short of a nice place to be. Both the Nurse and Doctor were very knowledgeable, and it appears they go the extra mile for their patients. This is the place you want to go when you are sick. Much nicer than having to use one of the giant clinics where by the time you get an appointment, you're not sick anymore. Many thanks 1 Health.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic! My partner and I just moved to Christchurch from Levin and we enrolled at 1 Health and had our first appointments today. The place is nothing less than stunning. Access is good. Off street parking is ample. The building is beautiful, it is pristine, warm, inviting and comfortable. Staff are wonderful, kind and caring. Ive done numerous disability allowance applications with a handful of different GP's. Always had to ask for it first. This guy, Dr Bernard Teo, sees that I have a community services card and just whips one out, he knew what I could claim going forwards and from that first consult due to my condition and put it all down and told me what to do with it (even though I already knew). Now thats bloody service. I have never, ever, had anything like that before. Pure dedication to help and use what is available. Usually you have to ask for that, and you have to ask for specifics, and even then most are reluctant to sign off on a lot of things. If you dont know whats allowed, you dont know what you can ask for. So you end up not getting help you are entitled to. Not at 1 Health it would seem, this place is different, a good different, the different you want. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Fantastic experience: We brought our 6week old baby in for her first round of vaccinations today and was met with the utmost kind, caring service from when we walked in and till we walked out. Dr even sent follow up email with all the relevant information that we discussed for the baby as well. Fantastic experience: I visited the dentist because four of my teeth were slightly chipped and causing issues. The dentist was very kind and thorough, checking each tooth individually and even showing me additional cavities using a mirror while explaining everything in detail. I received treatment for a total of five teeth over two sessions. Each time, the care felt meticulous, and I didn’t feel any pain from the injections. The treatment was incredibly satisfactory, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone hesitant about getting dental treatment.

Fantastic experience: Our 4-year-old daughter was sent home by pre-school as she developed facial swelling. This was at around 3pm , which was really stressful as we did not want to go to urgent care or the ED! We contacted 1 Health and were able to get an appointment very promptly within an hour with Dr Teo at 4.30pm, who reassured us and prescribed some cream and allergy medicine ( for suspected insect bite). Our daughter made a good recovery and the swelling resolved. So pleased with the service !

Fantastic experience: I brought my mother to see Dr Teo because she was complaining of chest tightness. Dr Teo was caring, thorough, and extremely patient with my mother, who's not the most forthcoming with providing details. Dr Teo did a through physical examination, heart tracing and blood tests ( all by himself) to rule out urgent life threatening problems. He then recommended a few heart medications and explained to my mum what could be going on. My mum felt really reassured after this, as this issue has been going on for a while. He recommended a few additional tests with heart specialists which my mum will do when she return home overseas. He also promtply emailed us a copy of his medical assessment to smooth the transition of care when she returns home overseas. Results from the blood tests were promptly communicated. Dr Teo also quickly addressed her issues with constipation and recurrent mouth ulcers! Such excellent care provided and highly recommended!
