Fantastic experience: My daughter had to have 2 extractions today. Dr Firas was so kind and the nurse was so sweet holding her hand to calm her. You guys are amazing and made a scary procedure much more manageable for her. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Visited Dentist as an emergency on a holiday Monday as a tooth cap broke off the night before. They were friendly, professional and efficient. If it was not for the distance involved, I'd ditch my current dentist for them.

Fantastic experience: Needed to make an emergency appointment today for my daughter. So easy to book online and then was followed up by a phone call. We even got a call when there was a cancellation and could go in earlier. So good to be able to get a same day appointment, on a Saturday night even! The receptionist was lovely and very thorough. The dentist and the nurse were fantastic. So lovely with my daughter and talked to her about everything they were doing. They were very thorough, explained everything really well and were very efficient. Would definitely go again!

Fantastic experience: And another 6-9 months goes by yet again but the quality of service remains the same. Negative experience: I was impressed with Firas Al Amri's dental care, but this was overshadowed by several of the staff being blatantly sick, coughing and snorting without covering their mouths effectively or keeping masks on. This tells me that there is a culture of disregard for the health of the patients, which is not great when you are providing a health service.

Negative experience: The place is small and tight. I dealt with one guy on reception who was incompetent making me wait for so long when all he had to do was send an email which I never received! The place is antiquated, the whole practice looks old and outdated. I found another dentist with a very modern facility and 3D scanning!!

Negative experience: Loved this dentist - always fairly easy to get an appointment and carpark. Had an appointment with a new dentist here after being with the same 2 for a number of years. The new dentist did what felt like a rush/lazy job. Replacing my cap on my front tooth the replacement was oversized which has now caused my tooth to turn inward due to "fitting". Never went back.

Positive experience: They were running late, but they were quite busy. Liked the evening emergency appointment. Clear communication by dentist, nice guy!, and receptionist. Seemed a little expensive, (but havnt shopped around so…)

Fantastic experience: Suffering a lot of pain from abscesses, and not being sure how to manage the weekend, I was able to easily contact Newton Dental and receive advice Friday night, and have a consultation Saturday morning. A thorough medical history was taken, I was able to clearly see the X-ray on screen, there was a good discussion about possible treatments and I was provided with printed information about one of the treatments. Amazingly, I could have booked in for a dental procedure the same night. I am grateful that Wellington has this type of service. No photos for this review .

Negative experience: Really overpriced, but then they all are aren't they? Crazy thing was they looked at me though I had no money at the time, despite building their ten million dollar Karori house for them the year or two earlier. They even said "like anything, you get what you pay for" so I went elsewhere. Put blood and sweat into building their place and keeping things timely and cost effective. Even worked over Christmas break removing boxing and keeping sprinklers moving on the slabs in the hot December's we used to have... Before global warming made December freezing of course. Anyway. Same people own Karori dental don't they? I don't know many broke dentists, but then some are just taking the piss... Ps.. Have had some nice dentists, such as Queenstown.. Who used the last ten minutes of our session for some work that wasn't on the quote and just did as they thought it was beneficial to gob. Didn't charge a cent.

Fantastic experience: I had a crown fitted in the UK that had been adjusted a few times in the UK but still caused pain. I found Newtown Dental, and got a same day appointment. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. Firas, my dentist, was very careful and thorough and gave good explanations and advice. And most importantly he fixed the problem. The price was fair. What's not to love?

Fantastic experience: Booked an appointment and got treatment same day. They were quick and did an awesome job on me. My Wisdom tooth was quite broken already and infected at the root. They managed to get it out quickly and as painless as possible. Cleaned the infection and gave me medication to help rid of the infection. $490 for the extraction and definitely worth it for a same day treatment. Everyone else was booked out for 1-2 weeks and charge almost the same amount. Highly recommend

Gave me clear options to choose and did oversell things (unlike another dental clinic where I got quoted, which said i needed more work done than what was necessary, and almost a year later, i'm glad i never did go there to get work done as it was not necessary as I'm finding out). Fantastic experience: I have gone 34 years without so much as a filling and on Sunday I started experiencing a number of ulcers accompanied with pain around a wisdom tooth. I managed to book in to see Ray and he explained things very kindly and thoroughly. He offered to take the tooth out then and there but I was too nervous - he was understanding. I rebooked and had the tooth removed this evening. I have never felt compelled to write a dentist review but I have to in this instance because Ray and his team were so professional. I felt like I was in the best possible hands and as promised by Ray the tooth was removed in seconds and I felt absolutely no pain. He is professional, obviously has a tonne of experience, and he’s kind. Visiting a dentist can be a clinical experience, but Ray made me feel like my nerves were ok, and he took the time to reassure me. I’m so grateful - thank you! I’ll be back for checkups (but I’d prefer to keep my teeth fixed into my mouth next time )

Fantastic experience: My wisdom teeth caused pain again and I want to get them extracted. I called Newtown Dental on Thursday and got consulted on Friday and the extraction on Saturday. You can't make this up. Dr Ray Salih extracted 4 of my wisdom teeth and he made it looks easy. Salute! This Clinic is amazing.

Fantastic experience: This practice was amazing! I was in agony with an impacted wisdom tooth. I couldn’t get any locally so I had to come to see DR. Ray Salih and he was AMAZING. I drove over two hours to see him because no where close to me would help even when they said they offered emergency dental. Dr. Sahli was able to take my tooth out right away! I was very very nervous and he was extremely comforting for me. Negative experience: Had an extremely insulting & bad experience on 10 September 2024. My partner was in tooth pain, visited this practice who recommended medication and booked for procedure a week later. Her pain got worst with an abscess (pus) growing on her gum. She called them, but despite being an emergency dental situation, they refuse to bring her apppintment a bit forward. partner even begged to talk to on-duty dentists over phone, but the receptioninst refused that too. We had to change the dentist on the spot. Never going back here again. To ND: Switch your attitudes towards perople's pain guys! you should do better!!

Fantastic experience: Newtown Dental have been fantastic. Very responsive when I needed urgent care on a Saturday from an infected tooth. Then on the Monday they had an emergency appointment available to have the tooth removed. Dr. Ray is the man for a painless and swift tooth extraction! Not only was everyone super lovely and welcoming but the teeth cleaning was over relatively quickly & painlessly. Fantastic experience: Really impressed with all of the staff here. Receptionists are lovely and welcoming and all the dentists and dentist assistants are great. I had a tricky tooth to fix and Nathan and Karen were great at talking me through the process and making me feel at ease. I was nervous about pain but it was the most pain-free dentist experience I've ever had! Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant service. Good price and payment options. After two months of run around from another service this gets sorted within days. Will never look at another dentist again. Two days later they need more stars. Extraction that other places could not sort was easily achieved. Best dental experience of my life despite my anxiety. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: I went here at the start of this year I believe when I had extreme tooth pain and had tried to remove my own teeth with a hammer. Stupid stuff but Newtown dental came to the rescue. The Russian man working there is a God send. I won't lie it was painful as but you guys cured me so I appreciate it alot.

I rang and I was at the dentist chair 5 hours later.By far Dr. Ray Salih is the best dentist I ever had. I did not feel the injections and I did not feel the extraction. Fantastic experience: Friendly helpful staff. Very good explanation of work to be done on my teeth. Cost also the cheapest I have had with any other dentist.
Negative experience: I went to Newtown Dental for a check up with Dr. David Wang. He told me I needed 4 fillings, which was a surprise. I have had only 2 fillings previously in my whole life from many years ago, so I would think something had gone seriously wrong to all of a sudden need 4 with no change in dental hygiene practices since my previous checkup. I would expect that in this situation a dentist would enquire about brushing practices and make an effort to educate the patient to prevent further decay, but after telling me the results of the X-ray, the appointment abruptly ended with no further discussion. I decided to get a second opinion in the face of an almost 2000 dollar bill. Regardless of price, I feel that having a filling is never as good as the original tooth, so I would not want to get them unless needed. The second dentist said that I needed none of the fillings that had been reported at Newtown Dental, and showed me his reasoning with x-rays and photos of my teeth. I have made a complaint to the dental council, as I feel that this is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, staff, advice, and practising. I had two wisdom teeth removed about a month and a half ago, and needed emergency surgery as my top tooth was impacted. They recommended I got winz dental financial help, which allowed me to get them removed once and for all. Very gentle and welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: Wow, I got service far beyond my expectations. I was referred to Newtown dentistry by the emergency dentist service after I broke my tooth on over Christmas while visiting Wellnigton. I was referred to Monty at 8pm on the 27th. My expectation was for an emergency sealing of the tooth at exhorbitant prices by a dentist wanting to get home quick. Instead, I was offered full permenant repair for under $500 then and there. By 9pm, with plenty of concern for comfort in the process, the job was done. I also got some good advice on future care. I have seen shinier dental facilities, but in short, if I lived in Newtown, I would want Monty for my dentist.
Fantastic experience: Always a great experience at Newtown Dental. Our whole family go here and we are all very happy with the professional service they offer. I have had three different dentists here to date and they have all been great. I would be happy to recommend them any of friends.
Fantastic experience: I have used Newtown Dental on 6 occasions now and keep on coming back because the staff are highly competent and genuinely nice people. The clinic is open for very long hours which should suit just about everyone. I do not know how their charges stack up against the competition but I have no reason to shop elsewhere.
