Fantastic experience: Been going to Dr Sam Brady for around 7 years now. He's kind and quick, and his work and advice has solved any problems I've had with my oral health. He's also honest. He discounted work that turned out to be minor. He doesn't rush into unnecessary jobs when they're not required. He's got special attention for patient comfort. I was not comfortable with the underwater videos most other patients find calming After mentioning this to the receptionist a note must have been placed in my file and the scenes on the ceiling TVs have always been changed when I come in. Have recommended this clinic to everyone who asks.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Dr Foster and his dental assistant enough! As someone with autism and a debilitating phobia of the dentist, Dr Foster showed absolute care and consideration while explaining the entire process as we went thru it. The end result was amazing and I feel incredibly grateful to Dr. Foster for his empathy and compassion. Words will never express what you have done for me. 1000/10 recommend him if you want a compassionate dentist who understands.

I called on very short notice, and they kindly fit me on the next day. The staff and doctor were so helpful, quick, and professional. They fixed my tooth perfectly, and it was very affordable too! Fantastic experience: My friend Nigel had really bad toothache and managed to get in to see Dr. Joe Foster reasonably quickly. The treatment he received was exceptional and Dr. Joe was very compassionate and friendly as well. Nigel asked me to send a review for him as I went with him at the time and he does not have Google access. To me, they seemed very friendly and helpful as well. I wouldn't hesitate in going there myself anytime if I required dental care.

They do an exceptional job every time – from cleanings to more complex procedures, I always feel I’m in good hands. Recently, I was running late for an appointment and was concerned about being charged a cancellation fee. To my surprise, they were incredibly understanding and didn’t charge me, even though they have every right to. It’s that level of care and customer service that keeps me coming back! Fantastic experience: Joe Foster is exceptional!! I have been so scared to go to a dentist for years, I also cannot afford the high costs which has stopped me from going also. I have had my wisdom teeth cause me a lot of trouble at the moment (and a few other bad apples) so I went in here as a new first-time client. When I met Joe he was so understanding and kind, yet very professional and amazing at his job. Him and his assistant (sorry I do not know her name) were so kind and patient with me and really calmed my nerves and anxiety. You can tell he definitely loves what he does and he really actually cares about his patients, their health and their well-being. He really made me feel at ease always talking me through every single step and making sure I knew what is happening and what needs to be done. He’s a top notch dentist and an amazing guy all round. Fantastic experience: New patient. Very welcoming. Kerry ( and her assistant) are highly professional and competent. A check, two crowns and a clean. I could not fault Kerry. I have had several dentists over the years and haven't always been pleased with the work done. However Kerry has proven to be far superior. Costs very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I came back from vacation with a tooth that was in excruciating pain Dr Joe Foster stayed open late so I could have tooth pulled (wisdom tooth that had a crown on it already) had an infection below tooth so not able to be saved. Joe has a great way about keeping you relaxed and his assistant Georgia was so kind. Highly recommend.

I was scared of visiting a dentist for so long with the cost, but these guys made it easy the whole way through no hidden costs and everything quoted accurately at initial appointment. Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend this place more, Joe is fantastic! A combination of anxiety and a medical condition caused other dentists to be cautious and put me on the hospital waiting list rather than treat me. The wait was long and my teeth needed attention. I came across Joe and expected the same treatment, however after an assessment he agreed to work with me. Multiple teeth removed and fillings completed Joe and his assistant supported me throughout the whole journey. Yes Joe, we are still friends! See you next time.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend the team at Colombo enough. Especially Joe. I've always dreaded going to the dentist and only went when there is something wrong. Joe was the most enthusiastic and professional in his job than any other dentist that I have come across in New Zealand and Oversees he made me feel educated and informed about my options and made me felt heard. After going for an initial check up and X-rays he made me feel calm and collected. I got a comprehensive teeth clean, lower jaw filling and three teeth extractions and will be returning in the future.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t go to these guys ever after the way I was treated by a staff member at their reception. Absolutely disgusting. I felt so belittled at a time when I was in so much agony. And to call me a liar? I told your receptionist everything before she booked me in. What you are trying to infer in your response is as disgusting as the way you treated me. May be you need to take some of your reviews on board and seek professional help.

Negative experience: Posting below review on behalf of my 60 year old mother, the below is in her own writing: I arrived at this surgery before 8am and had a conversation with the receptionist, she confirmed my appointment was a half hour and I said that's about all the time I have as I need to get to work. I sat in the waiting room listening to the dentist talk to a nurse about paying for something, the clock ticked over and at 10 past 8 the receptionist went into the surgery. The dentist then called me. I went in and was told where to put my bag. Nothing else was said. He started cleaning my teeth. Then he stopped and started typing, I didn't know what was going on. The nurse then started taking the instruments apart for cleaning. I thought seems like it's over and stood up. I went to the reception and took my phone out and it was only 8:22am. I said to the receptionist "I have been in there 10 minutes and you are going to charge me for half an hour'. Long story short I said email me the bill and I will pay it. Once I got to my car I saw the dentist running out of the building so I walked over and he was right in my face waving his finger at me yelling that I was a lier. He said I had been in the room for half an hour and he could prove this from the cameras which I know he can't, it wasn't even 8 30 when he was yelling this to me. I asked him to stop yelling at me take his pointed finger away. He didn't. I was very frightened and extremely intimated. I took 2 x $50 from my bag and left them on the ground. I was shaking. Not only was his behavior and conduct unprofessional and intimading I did not receive the treatment I had booked for. Brenda Ellis

Fantastic experience: This dentist is just superb. After 9 years of avoiding the dentist and finding myself with a toothache, I was recommended this place and to see Dr Sam. Dr Sam is direct but considerate, and was very understandable of my situation. I am very anxious with dental work, so Dr Sam constantly checked if I was okay. He is very meticulous with his work and doesn't rush. I will never visit another dentist; Columbo Dental is the place to go!

Negative experience: I found the dentist one of the ruddest I have incounted and left befor treatment. I noticed the receptionist from 12 months ago was no longer there. The place was extremely quite compared to my last visit I could not recommend Columbo dental to any one.theres a surplus of dentists,so find one that suits There is a marvelous dents further up the road who I have no hesitation in recommending.excellent dentistry and friendly helpfully staff.. Negative experience: On Saturday 20th May at 10:30 am, I had an appointment to review my wisdom teeth. I was expecting to have great service and respectful communication between dentist and patient. However, Samuel Brady was very unprofessional as he didn't communicate to me directly, instead he decided to talk with my partner about my problem...I don't know why ? After he finished his explanation to my partner, he said he had done this because English is not my first language and he needed to make sure the procedure he was about to do was well understood. I have been living in New Zealand for 12 years, my IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score was 8.5, I run an Electrical business with kiwi employees for almost 10 years now, I have daily communication with English speaking people. I feel that Samuel Brady discriminated me due to my accent, and made several assumptions that were incorrect. Both assumptions and discriminations are unsafe actions in the health profession. Therefore, I will not recommend Samuel Brady to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I'm a nervous person going to the dentist, but I feel comfortable going back here now, I got myself worked up over nothing my dentist Samuel was amazing he removed a tooth 2x and both time's did a great job,if your a nervous person don't be I highly recommend this dentist, and if you need dentures he is the only dentist in the south Island that makes them for you.

Fantastic experience: Today I came in with extream tooth ache. They fit me in straight away, informed me of costs and likely options to resolve it without putting me on the spot. I had Samual Brady working on my teeth and I have never ever had an extraction before and it was 100% painless. He was gentle, patient and very calm which made a really nice experience for the one in the chair. Concidering it was weekend work cost was very reasonable. Thank you for the great experience even though I lost a tooth. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: These guys are awesome! They make going to the dentist as stress-free as possible and always go that extra mile whenever they can.

Positive experience: It's a mixed bag. The good - managed to get an appointment on the same day due to a cancellation and the receptionist was super awesome (someone should give her a raise!). Unfortunately everything else was so-so. The dentist seemed grumpy, didn't communicate clearly (was half mumbling all the time), and sighed when things didn't go his way. It doesn't hurt to be more courteous when engaging with your patients, Dr Brady.

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking initial treatment of a mask exempt patient. Made him feel like a complete hassle. Hurried him into a room, came in wearing hazmat suits (for want of a better term), was rude when talking to me. Wouldn't answer his questions as they were apparently short on time... But that was probably due to the fact that they spent 15 mins getting equipment on rather than being with the patient. First time using this place and will be the absolute last time! Would never recommend. Their only saving grace was the first time I called they had a wonderful young lady on reception who was a pleasure to deal with. She wasn't there any other time however.

Fantastic experience: Ever since becoming a patient of Columbo Street Dental last year, the dental care I have received has been overly positive. Dr Samuel Brady is an exceptional dentist. He is always happy to discuss my dental issues which gives me the confidence that my dental health is always in his best interests. He is also a very high functioning individual which provides me with even more reassurance that the care he provides is high quality. My dental issues have required a lot of patience and careful monitoring due to the nature of the injury (microscopic tooth cracks from a work related trauma injury) which Dr Brady has done a fantastic job at treating. Thank you

Fantastic experience: DR Clarine & Eli were awesome! Came in for a chipped tooth repair and clean. Shaped my tooth to the point it was not even noticable! Would highly recommend and will be back! A+

Fantastic experience: My first experience today with the team at Columbo Dental. I had to have a tooth removed and Clarine Cheah was wonderful. She was straight forward, honest and gentle. The receptionist was extremely friendly and caring. I was in a lot of pain and their caring attitudes did not go unnoticed. I would highly recommend this dentist. In addition they have reasonable pricing, which they are upfront about. $250 for consult, xrays and removal.

Fantastic experience: Had extractions not quite 2 weeks ago now, and i have healed so well! Sam is one of the nicest dentists i have ever been to! Also the receptionist is so lovely too. Thank you to the team at Colombo St Dental for making my experience so comfortable, see you next year :-)

Fantastic experience: Dr Zoe Berryman is just wonderful! She is very gently but thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. I went in with a bit of a sore tooth and had a well priced full check with scans and even photos! Dr Zoe found that I had a few issues so we planned out a schedule that worked for me and I am getting the treatment I need. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would (and have!) highly recommend this place to get dental work done.

Negative experience: I have thought long and hard about posting this review, especially given the threats of defamation for others who have bravely spoken up. I will not go into detail about the specifics of my dental treatment with Dr Brady other than to say I too was not treated in a respectful or kind manner as a patient in his practice, and it has left a lasting impression on me. I can only hope I encountered Dr Brady on one of his 'off days' and that others have been more fortunate than I.

Fantastic experience: Jeeper creepers where have you been all my life Dr. Sam brady!!! The kindest and the best dentist out there! I've always been very anxious about going to the dentist due to pain, judgement and the price. I've had extensive fillings done and a wisdom tooth extraction today, not a single pain during the process - no judgement and I genuinely felt like he's there to help (quite cheap too!). Very efficient, professional and most of all - he knows his stuff! Thanks so much Sam and Sarah, I've never been to the dentist and came out with a smile. Felt like falling asleep at one point, I was that relaxed! Thank you thank you thank you for your non-judgemental very friendly approach. Will definitely be back and will recommend to everyone i know.

Negative experience: Let me start by saying that the receptionist, Jilene, is bloody lovely and tried her best to smooth over what was an awful experience. She was so gentle with me as I left, clearly upset, and tried her best to cheer me. I really hope that Dr Brady was just having a bad day because he steam-rolled me, insulted me and continued to talk over me as I welled up over the situation. From the moment I walked in, he just pointed to the chair, did not say "Hi" or "how are you" or ask my concerns about my teeth, just went straight in and started insulting the cosmetics of them. The entire appointment he kept pressing and putting through appointment plans in the computer for $1000 a tooth treatments and practically saying my teeth were awful, despite my reiteration that I just wanted to refill a filling that had decayed, nothing else. He ignored me and said it would never work - though I've been told by another dentist now that it is a perfectly acceptable route for my teeth. I've never felt so awful leaving an appointment; he second-guessed and disregarded everything I said, and it really felt like he didn't care about me or his job. I'm sure other have had great experiences here, but I needed to pass on that I really did not. Cried for half an hour afterwards. As we all have off days, I was willing to give them a second go and contacted them to ask for an appointment for just one filling (which is all I need and want) but was told that Dr Brady said I need $400 a tooth treatment. So, nah, won't be going back. Cheers. EDIT, after response: Mate, it doesn't sound like you are comfortable with people writing honest reviews as you state, because you respond with threats of defamation. And being threatening about privacy? What the heck, man. My name is here and I stand by my words. Where in my piece of paper will it say that you weren't rude to me? I appreciate that you have great reviews below, which is why I said it must have been a bad day, but the more you write the more unsure I become. And I called twice and texted once since last week about a follow up appointment - not just yesterday - as if that even matters; Your response only really confirms that you treated me in the same way during my visit.
