Fantastic experience: I have attended appointments with my Mum in the lead up to her final fitting for full dentures at Merivale Clinic and at every visit Tom has been the consummate professional. I have been incredibly impressed with his collaboration and respect, helping us to navigate insurers and Mums dental practice to achieve a highly desirable outcome. My Mum has felt heard and valued and for our retired population who feel increasingly invisible -this had been key in building a trust relationship. The clinic epitomizes 'person-centered' care, and I applaud their attention to detail and friendliness. Mums new smile is fresh and youthful. Tom also took into consideration my queries regarding final aesthetics as I had been unhappy with my previous bridge, which was now being replaced. Am 41 years old and faced with dentures for the first time after having all my teeth extracted elsewhere I was very apprehensive and borderline pessimistic about achieving anything I could be happy with. Am absolutely stoked to be completely wrong! Tom's an extremely talented craftsman and a pleasure to banter with during the appointments. Apart from being amazed at the great fit straight of the bat it's worth mentioning that Tom will go through the entire process and charge NOTHING if you're not completely happy and want to shop elsewhere. Fantastic experience: Over the past year Thomas made my father with a new set of denture. It was a long process and Thomas was amazing, very patient and kind to explain everything to my father. There were some hiccups along the way (which was common) but Thomas was very caring and professional. My father's dentures are wonderfully suited to him and he once again can eat proper food after such a long time. I'm extremely grateful that Merivale Denture Clinic had been the one looking after my father. Highly recommend to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I found Thomas through a referral by a friend after a lower jaw post has come out. Very pleased I did ! Thomas ran through all the options, and referred me to an excellent Periodontist who has subsequently replace two posts on which Thomas has crafted a new full lower denture. It looks good, fits well and if you need any adjustments nothing is a problem ! I thoroughly recommend Thomas as an expert in his field.

Through mum being referred by a friend for for denture renewals (she's in her 90's) I have had the pleasure of meeting Tom and having 6 teeth master-crafted upper denture partial denture made. It's the best denture I have EVER had, by some margin! He really is a master craftsman. The fit was perfect from day one, I can speak, breathe and eat seamlessly. This plate is unlike many other plates I have endured over the years! Fantastic experience: I've been told i have to "shop around", but with these kind of things is really difficult. I was lucky to find Tom, and I'm really happy and satisfied with his work. He's an extremely skilled, experienced, and humane professional. Looks young but he's experienced. I know as more people knows him he'll become busier. But he took extra time to explain everything to me and did all the adjustment necessary with extra care, diligence, and wisdom. (Also he knows SeoTaiji and old school K-Pop so that's a plus).

I had two bridges removed from my upper jaw, which then needed to be replaced by dentures. I chose Thomas Gu as my clinical dental technician. After a few professional sessions, I found myself with new dentures. They are well fitted, small and very helpful with breaking down food. My 85 year old mum had been putting up with an ill-fitting painful denture for a year and was told it was doubtful anyone could do any better because of her gums. I made an appointment with Tom as a last hope for Mum. Right from the start Tom was amazing with his assessment explanations and options for Mum. She felt totally confident in his care. The denture Tom made for Mum is perfect. She can now eat with it and leave it in PAIN FREE. She is so thankful for what Tom has done as it has made so much of a difference to her quality of life. Fantastic experience: This has been a long 18 month journey from when I first met Tom, which started with bone grafting followed by implant surgery and finally getting my full upper implant support denture. Tom has been nothing but supportive, patient and explained every step along the way clearly. I have gone from being self-conscious and cautious on what I eat to confident, smiley and back to eating anything I want. It has definitely been worth the expense and wait to get these things back in life!

Fantastic experience: The reason I chose the Merivale Denture Clinic was because, when I was looking for a denture technician, Merivale Denture Clinic had well over 100 reviews all of which were 5 stars. Thomas was thoroughly professional all the way through the process from explaining his pricing, to what was involved in each step to the final fitting. His brief was to make a bottom plate for me. Tom doesn't make a standard , one size fits all plate, but takes time to study the idiosyncrasies of your mouth and form the plate accordingly. This has resulted in a very comfortable fitting plate. He also made adjustments to a top plate that had been made by a technician from another business, to the one size fits all template, and has changed it to where I can actually keep the plate in my mouth all day instead of only at meal times. This business is one I can thoroughly recommend if you are looking for dentures.

He worked with my new dentist and hygienist on finding the best solution for me, and I couldn't be happier with the result! I have been trying to find words of appreciation about Tom and his support. We had surgery to have an implant to help secure the new lower denture. Richard Henderson from Henderson Periodontics and Tom coordinated together with us to provide a smooth transition to the new dentures. I have been very impressed with Tom's explanations, attention to detail and his assurance that mum would be  completely happy with the fit. Fantastic experience: Thomas Gu (Tom) is a Senior Clinician at the Merivale Denture Clinic. I made a phone enquiry today about implant supported dentures for a family member. I was referred to their specialist Tom. Despite Tom being busy, he set aside time to answer a large number of my questions. He was eloquently spoken and was able to explain things to me in simple terms. Other dentists that I've dealt with in the past have been so technical that it becomes too confusing to understand. Thankfully Tom wasn't like that. He was everything his profile stipulated 'down to earth friendly demeanour and his extensive array of experience from complex and highly specialised hospital cases to the conventional dentures makes his service second to none.' Although the cost of the implant supported dentures was outside our budget, I would recommend Tom's dental expertise and experience. My reason for this is that he demonstrated in our conversation that caring for the patient and ensuring that they are taken care of in the best possible manner is the top most priority for him. Even to the point that he said, even if you don't choose to come to me, please take into consideration what I've mentioned. So, Tom made me feel like my family member mattered and that I wasn't just another appointment worth x amount of dollars business to him. Thank you Tom. I could tell that Tom was very caring of his patients. If our family were in a financial position to go see him on this particular matter, then we wouldn't hesitate in doing so. If you want a caring, quality and professional dental experience, then go and see Tom. He's the best dentist I've come across in Christchurch - I should know because I've spent a good chunk of my time speaking to a number of dental practices over the past few weeks. Thanks again Tom.
