Fantastic experience: I had a brilliant experience with the staff at Wanaka Dental. Travelling from Aus and having some tooth issues - the receptionist girls were some of loveliest I’d met. They didn’t turn me away straight away, helped me and EVEN fit me in with the nicest dentist in a Friday afternoon. The effort went a long with me today. Super appreciative and would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

Negative experience: Traumatising Experience – I Strongly Warn Others In nearly 20 years of receiving anti-wrinkle treatments, I have never had a more traumatising experience than what I went through with Olivia at Wanaka Dental. I visited the clinic before Christmas in 2024 for anti-wrinkle treatment. During the procedure, as Olivia administered Dysport near my nose, I was suddenly struck by an overwhelming smell and taste of chemicals — something I have never experienced with anti-wrinkle treatments before. I immediately expressed that something felt wrong. I was told she would consult a colleague and get back to me. After leaving the clinic, I experienced a massive nosebleed in the car, which deeply concerned me. When I called back, I was informed that after consulting with a colleague, Olivia had realised she had accidentally injected into the soft tissue of my nose, due to not properly checking my anatomy before injecting. This left me absolutely terrified. I was genuinely fearful that the misplaced Dysport could affect muscles related to my throat or neck, potentially interfering with swallowing or breathing. I’m still shaken by the experience and, unfortunately, I’ve been too scared to see anyone else for further treatment since. I was told I could write a letter of complaint — which seemed totally pointless, considering Olivia is the owner of the clinic. Honestly, the entire situation felt like a complete joke in terms of accountability. And yes, they did refund my money, but unfortunately, a refund won’t fix what I am feeling — the fear, anxiety, and trauma I’ve been left with after such a frightening experience. I would not ever choose to go to a dental clinic (and certainly not Wanaka Dental) for aesthetic treatments or cosmetic injectables again. This was a deeply distressing and unsafe experience — one I hope no one else has to go through. Avoid at all costs. I would give ZERO stars if I could.

She then recommended a treatment plan for me, starting off slowly and always maintaining a natural result. I am so happy with my results and would recommend her to anyone starting their injectables journey that is apprehensive. She will make you feel at ease with her expertise

Fantastic experience: I have had dental check ups, a hygienist appointment, and several visits for dental veneers and every time I visit I am pleasantly surprised by how nice a trip to the dentist can be! I have often found even basic check ups quite painful and slightly traumatic in the past but the procedures at Wanaka Dental have always been very gentle. I feel like they are thorough without doing any unnecessary procedures, and I am stoked with my veneers! All staff are always very warm and friendly. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

I wish the dentist would do the maintenance work they used to though: they used to do a quick clean of the teeth during the routine checkup apt. Now that’s done with a separate appointment with hygienist which boosts costs and makes it prohibitive. Otherwise great service.

Positive experience: Enjoyed the service and the job done. However there is a little ambiguity in their pricing. I was initially told the service would cost 120$(already pretty pricey) then when got to the till was charged 160$. Make sure you clarify pricing beforehand to avoid disappoinment

I was very anxious but dentists Charlie and Olivia, plus the reception team and hygienists took great care of me. I felt comfortable and cared for the whole time and really appreciate how considerate everyone has been. They even try to match up patients with the most suitable practitioner - so thoughtful. Love Wanaka dental and now recommend to everyone.
