Fantastic experience: First time here. Haven’t been to the dentist in about 8 years. The team were GREAT! Super friendly, non judgemental. Had a great chat, received amazing service, and it didn’t break the bank. 10 out of 10! Loved the whole experience. I will be back!!

Negative experience: I have a anxiety disorder so after reading all of the good reviews on here I made an appointment with Andrea. At the beginning it went well she listened to my concerns and was very informative, but after me having to reschedule a few times/make changes once due to sickness and the other an anxiety flair up it became a different story. Although I understand that rescheduling/changing things etc has an impact on her business, I did follow the cancellation process I was given at the time and i was very honest about my situation so her response and lack of empathy to this really shocked and upset me. From there anything relating to this appointment and my anxiety has been dismissed and passed on rather than seeking to understand and move forward. I am glad to see that Andrea has helped some people with their minor anxieties about the dentist but I feel some work is needed in handling patients with more extreme anxiety disorders. It felt like as soon as it got to difficult her ability to be empathetic disappeared.

Fantastic experience: I really want to thank the staff at Massey Smiles. I had to have a tooth removed, the staff reassured me and provided good information in order to make an informed decision. It was a really difficult procedure, but we got there in the end.

Fantastic experience: The dentist Mariam is one of the most amazing dentists I have ever ever EVER encountered. Her warmth, professionalism and MOST importantly - her values really showed when she was honest with me re a situation about my teeth, she made me feel a looooot better. Private practices are always going to serve patients MUCH better than any franchise. The only sad thing about this is that you guys may start booking Mariam so much that she’d be too busy for me loool. Loved her and the team!! They’re all so friendly and inviting. Plus they’re cheap too!

Fantastic experience: On the recommendation of my son, I moved to Andrea at Massey Smiles, after 18 years with my now semi-retired dentist. I was immediately impressed with the kind and super-efficient receptionist, Shirley, and with the lovely rooms. Andrea is the most caring, thorough, and professional dentist of the 10 I have experienced. She has gone the extra mile for me and I totally trust and feel comfortable with her. I love it that she cleans my teeth herself . She has given me the best clean I have ever had, and charges very reasonable rates. She has printed out a detailed summary of work to be done on my teeth and expected cost. She has beautifully remedied a disfigured front tooth, and I very much look forward to her taking care of the rest of my teeth. Thank you , Andrea , for your superb practice.

Fantastic experience: I havent been yet but these guys just on customer service alone deserve 5 stars. Ive been in quite alot of pain with a broken tooth for about 4 weeks and I wanted to be sure I had the money before booking an appointment. These guys put up with my constant questions, booking an appointment before I confirmed something to then having to cancel and rebook it again to cancel and not once did they appear to get annoyed at me and even up until this afternoon were still very nice to deal with. I wanted to use these guys as I've heard nothing but great reviews especially for people with anxiety issues and I will need further work done so I will definitely be booking with them in the future hopefully a little less desperate and a little bit more organized on my part lol Thank you heaps Shirley and Andrea.

Fantastic experience: Really impressed with this dental practise. The team are friendly, professional, and compassionate. They took the time to talk me through the best options for me and were sensitive to a bad experience years ago with a dentist that has left me with significant fear around treatment. They did everything they could to make me comfortable, provided excellent care, and did a great job fixing my teeth. They communicated risks of the procedure clearly and came up with a clear plan of what to do in case the risk (which was low) eventuated. As I'm high risk, I can't safely access dental treatment at many dentists as they're not taking precautions against COVID or other airborne illnesses. When I phoned Massey Smiles, I was told that they have a negative air pressure system at their practise - I looked this up and learned that it prevents the spread of airborne viruses. This enabled me to safely access dental treatment here. I highly recommend Massey Smiles and will be back for regular check ups here.

Fantastic experience: I just had my first appointment to Dr. Andrea yesterday for my upper tooth extraction. She immediately put me at ease with her calm and sweet demeanour. I never felt rushed. Dr. Andrea is very professional in helping me to understand the procedures I would be going through. I felt like I was truly valued as a patient of the clinic. She and her staff have a special way of making your visit personalised, comfortable and stress-free. I would recommend this place they have a great manner that is really hard to find. Had an extraction and all went smoothly. Such a lovely office, Carly and all the staff -receptionists/nurses/dentists are all super friendly and helpful. I was explained everything during and before and even after my procedure. I can honestly say that this Dentist is top notch. First time I have been here and I will be coming back for further work. And now after being looked after by Massey Smiles my fears have disappeared... and they made it possible to face the lengthy treatment that I desperately needed. Fantastic experience: I am terrified of dentists but knew I had to go prior to chemo. I went to another dentist initially who didn’t offer iv sedation but said they would find me one and then never called back. Was recommended this place and omg they are amazing. They knew I had a short time frame to have it done in and even came in early to look after me and bought my appointment forward when one came available. They treated me with care and respect and ensured everything went well. They offer IV sedation to help the petrified get through it. I can not recommend Massey Smiles more highly. Lovely caring people.

Fantastic experience: I have been having ongoing discomfort from my teeth and gums for some years and have been putting off going to the dentist. I had a very bad experience at the tender age of fifteen at my local dentist at the time which left me quite fearful. Many years have passed since my bad experience, and the ongoing discomfort has finally forced me to face my fears. A work colleague suggested I book an appointment with Andrea at Massey Smiles in Westgate, and after further procrastination and ongoing discomfort, I made the appointment. Andrea's gentle approach has completely restored my confidence in the dentists chair. I highly recommend Andrea.

Negative experience: If you don’t want to leave this place with a completely numbed face for 2 days and then badly bruised for nearly 2 weeks don’t ever come here. The anaesthetic accident I had there was extremely horrifying. The most upsetting thing is they ‘diagnosed’ that I had a crack on my tooth which wasn’t showing on the X-ray. They chopped half of my tooth off damaging the enamel before making sure that I really needed a root canal. My pain was treated by another dentist by simply redo my filling. However my enamel is damaged and the damage is not reversible. I was advised to make a complaint against them but even so damage was made and I will never be able to have my tooth back. Moral of the story is DON’T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Today was my 1st experience going to Massey Smiles and Im so pleased I did. Through a referral I was lucky to secure a next day booking and I had a tooth extraction, molar. I was made to feel relaxed and comfortable. The staff Aoife, Carly and Rebecca are awesome. And I have rebooked to get more work done. Thanks ladies. 10/10. Fairly priced, top service!!

Fantastic experience: Had a much needed appointment yesterday with Andrea. Like a lot of people, I've always been terrified of dental work but Andrea and her team made the whole thing so easy. It was a really long appointment and being incredibly anxious, I was grateful they have the option of sedation. Best experience I could ever have hoped for. I get quite anxious about going to the dentist, however the whole team at Massey Smiles are so warm and compassionate, it really makes such a difference! Fantastic experience: Wow guys, HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this dental clinic, I sent my husband there this week for a tooth extraction (which ended up being an impacted wisdom tooth instead of a molar) but he cannot stop raving about his experience which is not like him because he hates going to the dentists and has had bad experiences. but he said this clinic was super clean, the staff and the dentist were super professional and really lovely and did everything they could to make him feel comfortable. I asked him how many stars he would rate this clinic and he said look up at a night sky thats how many stars id rate them (LOL this is how super happy he was I dont even get compliments like that haha) He also had a bit of a funny turn after the procedure (NOT from the procedure) and everyone there helped him and did what they could to get him feeling better before he left their clinic. I am a super anxious dental patient due to my own bad experiences but after hearing the praise the hubby had for everyone here including their prices and dental work I am looking forward to booking my dental extraction here in a few weeks. Thank you to everyone at Massey Smiles for everything you did for my husband, he said without any hesitation he would gladly come back and highly recommend to all especially if your nervous. Fantastic experience: Outstanding! I wasn't totally happy with my previous dentist so decided to try out Massey Smiles. Andrea spent the time to double check over my dental problem, and then referred me to an oral surgeon to solve it rather than addressing the symptoms like my previous dentist did. Wish I'd done that years ago. I'll definitely be going back to Massey Smiles again!

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Massey smiles, right from the moment I walked through the front door. I was extremely nervous because of a bad experience at local dentist prior to visiting Massey smiles. It had been awhile since I had been to a dentist. I didn’t feel judged because I hadn’t been to a dentist for a while, if anything they were very very understanding. Andrea was amazing, very gentle and explained the process and my options to me very clearly and preformed my procedure with such professionalism, care, compassion and most of all I was pain free! Completely! My whole experience was amazing. Compared to my last experience I feel the prices were very reasonable and the premises was beautifully clean! I highly recommend Massey smiles

Fantastic experience: I saw Andrea today. I have seen a few dentists lately, and I found her exceptionally helpful. She listens and and gives great practical advise. She explains everything very clearly and takes her time, and was able to put me on the right path. Her surgery is nice and clean and although she didn't do a lot of dental work on me, what she did do was exactly what I needed and more than other dentists would do. I am very pleased that I saw her. I also found her very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Massey Smiles to others. She provided a great service. P.S It was my own idea to write this.

Fantastic experience: Such a great dental experience, needed emergency dental work done, my dentist could fit me in for two days so contacted Adrian and she fitted me in the same day, she was welcoming and friendly, explain all my options and gave me all the time I needed to make a decision. Practice was absolutely lovely, new, welcoming and relaxing. Something I found wonderful was the personal phone call the next day to check up and see how I was doing, and fitted me in again the next day to make adjustment and make sure I was comfortable. Thank you so much for this pleasant dental experience I will definitely be coming back for further work. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I booked in to get my teeth checked by Massey Smiles which was very easy! I came in and they were very friendly, the next time I booked for a filling and had the same postive, friendly experience. They even organised with my orthodontist to get a bracket temporary removed for the filling. The filling was almost painless (as the numming needle you still feel it the very tinyest) they make sure my mouth was numb enough and talked to me. When you're lying in the chair you can see two pictures of blue sky and trees which puts the nerves to rest. They are full of advice! To finish it off they even sent me a message checking if everything was okay after a few days :)

I have followed Andrea from her previous practice in Eden Terrace even though Massey is further away because she has been looking after my families teeth and gum hygiene for many years. Fantastic experience: I was a patient of Andrea's from her old Mt Eden practise. When I heard she had left I emailed to ask if she would still accept me and John as patients. Andrea said "yes". I'm very happy with the care and attention Andrea shows to both of us. We personally like her lovely humble nature and she has given both of us quality no fuss treatment and sound advice. I hope her clinic thrives in Massey and I'm happy she is my dentist. Her new clinic is awesome BTW.

Fantastic experience: I'm pleased to review my recent dental experience with Andrea Lakeland. Her new surgery is beautiful, easy parking and great new equipment but more importantly the whole exam, clean etc was handled very gently and professionally. For various reasons it had been 18 months since my last appointment but Andrea was very thorough, totally nonjudgmental and gentle. Although I only needed a clean this time I've no doubt that if any work was required Andrea would have undertaken it equally professionally. There's a great selection of reading material and a very comfortable waiting room but although I was on time so was Andrea! Maybe I'll come early next time and relax.

Fantastic experience: These guys are great. Dr Andrea Lakeland is thorough and meticulous in her work, and her Dental Assistant (also named Andrea) is super lovely. They are both reassuring and you get the feeling your really being listened to during the consult. Im not a big fan of needles and when I had to have an injection to numb prior to her working on my tooth Dr Lakeland was a total pro. Firstly she was really gentle and slow letting it all settle in before commencing the work. As for that dreaded moment when the needle was put into my gum to numb the area, I can honestly say it felt just like a little scratch on my gum and then as if pressure was held against it for 10 seconds. Then we just waited for it to numb, No biggie at all! Over the past 3 years I have had fillings and cleans done with Dr Lakeland at her previous Central Auckland practice and now I have followed her to this new one called Massey Smiles. This week I had a very old (10 year old) filling come out, so I had to come see Dr Lakeland at her new location and this new place is amazing! The two Andreas are kind, down to earth and primarily concerned that you get the best craftsmanship possible. Thats good cos some dentists just churn you through at high speed to finance there next Mercedes, not these guys, you feel human and their prices are very reasonable. Hand on heart here, I can fully credit Dr Lakeland for saving me from a root canal that most other dentists would have not bothered saving. It was touch and go there for a while as we monitored it, but honestly she saved that tooth, and that saved me a huge root canal expense! Since following her out from her previous practice in Central Auckland I wasn't sure what to make of coming out west to get my teeth done, Im a Ponsonby / Grey Lynn Urban Professional blah blah blah (i.e. Im no Westie OK)... So if thats you too then theres 2 things a potential new patient would want to know..... 1) The place is brand new!!! its clean, modern and beautiful, new dental equipment, a lot of effort gone in to this new place, as nice as any fancy place I have visited in Remuera! 2) when you come here from the city go down the North Western, get off at Westgate, its much quicker than going through the west Auckland/Massey suburbs from Henderson etc, just get off at Westgate its easier.
