People were friendly and attentive, alleviating any anxiety I felt towards the procedure. The dentist took their time to explain everything to me thoroughly, so I’d know what to expect and so forth. The procedure itself was quick and put me at ease. I then received clear instructions on aftercare post-extraction. Fantastic experience: Never thought id be so thrilled with a dental appointment but here i am i called complaining of a toothache and was swiftly booked in to get it resolved asap! Im not a fan of the dentist but have had such a pleasant experience with Gauri and the team. Negative experience: I called up asking for a consultation and the lady who picked up my call asked how much I weigh. I asked her what for and she said “ for our seats” now if you ask me that’s rude. I asked what her name was but she wouldn’t give it to me. Highly do not recommend.
Hi Kapuna sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience. You were asked your weight purely for health and safety reasons. Our Dental Chair capacity like most dental chairs is 150 kg. We tend to ask that outright so that we’re not disappointing a person when they arrive and end up weighing greater than the capacity of the chair itself. The question is not to offend anybody or judge anyone in anyway but just to keep our patients protected and legislatively keeping us safe. I’m sure you can understand that that’s what the intention of the person on the phone was. We however do not appreciate your racist take on the matter as you ended the conversation asking the person on the other end of the phone to “go back to her country”. Please be advised that we do not tolerate any verbal abuse at this practice as will be the case at all dental and medical clinics around Aotearoa. We wish you all the best in your endeavours.

Fantastic experience: A nice place to go take care of your teeth. The team was very professional examining and providing with solutions by priority. I had wisdom tooth extraction, filling and cleaning done at this clinic, done by their very friendly and professional dentists. All the people here were very gentle and kind to me. Negative experience: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! ... Came in about 3wks ago, was man handled to the point I almost felt my jaw lock out off place due to the excessive pulling and togging of tooth, dentist was that rough where I not only left in discomfort but got grazed along the side of my lip in the process of her attempts to extract toothe. From all the fail attempts of pulling and tuggin they decided to go surgical, (TOOTHE EXTRACTION)zzzzzz. Left that day followed all instructions of medications and rinse procedures only to be left in pain FOR 3WKS!!! To current day, which is still occurring . Only to yesterday find out from my local Doctor that there was a PIECE of SHARD from the "Extracted Toothe" excess left behind inside the gum hence why it wasn't healing , fml. Absolute Dog water.
Hi Abinadi, we are really sorry to hear about your poor experience. At Mahu Dental, we have been providing quality care with an emphasis on our patients comfort for over 15 years now. Your extraction was particularly difficult and you were informed that on the day. The tooth was removed completely, and we can only estimate that there was a loose piece of bone that was bothering you in the end. We did call you the next day to follow up and at that instance you mentioned you were feeling well and did not indicate any concerns so we are a bit surprised to read this. We wish we were allowed an opportunity to assist you further when you were in discomfort. Wishing you all the best.

Negative experience: WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! Dentist Did an anaesthetic directly onto my grandmothers decaying rotten tooth which then caused inflammatory and intense pain & swelling. We then took her to the hospital, which the doctor advised that the dentist should NOT have done that. The clinic did not take responsibility or acknowledgment of their wrong actions. If I could post a photo of my grandmother to show how BAD it really was I would. Will 100% be telling everyone that I know NOT to go here EVER. Yuck!!!
Hi Kayla, we are a little surprised to see this review as we responded to your mothers email immediately upon returning to work yesterday am. We subsequently replied with a second email a couple hours later which included the treatment notes and a description of what happened on that day with your grandmother. Please be assured that your grandmother was treated with you the utmost care and our qualified dental surgeon provided no ill treatment. Your grandmother presented with a severely infected tooth which had been causing her pain and keeping her up at nights. Our well qualified dentist tried to anaesthetise the tooth but was unable to do so because of the high level of infection. Your grandmother was then prescribed multiple antibiotics to contain the spread of her pre-existing infection and was advised to go to the hospital if infection worsens. From the sounds of it, that is exactly what has happened and was predicted and advised by our house surgeon. We are sorry to hear that your grandmother had to go through this experience, but I’m afraid it was directly related to the long-standing infection she had in her mouth. We wish your grandmother the very best and a speedy recovery. If you could kindly forward us the written notes from the hospital doctor implicating us of any wrong doing we shall look into it further with swift intent and concern. Regards, Team Mahu Dental.

Fantastic experience: I was in so much pain, arriving to the clinic with a toothache. Just my luck they had a cancellation at 11am today during Christmas week. Staff were very professional and caring. I couldn’t quite compute much and couldn’t communicate how grateful I was for the wonderful service I received today. Fantastic experience: Took my mum there all i can say Is AWESUM My mum Is 77 she had to have 9 extractions due to Health reasons. Her 9 teeth we're pulled all under an hour...she was was comfy, no pain at all,,she left happy thankyou so much

Fantastic experience: Thank you! Five stars based purely on cost. Sorry to hear about those people who hadnt good experiences here. When I went in they were great, the dentists were friendly asking if I am ok. Dental assistant though, she was great until she started explaining why my tooth is in half. Saying "see when I told you....." ah ah ah! I know exactly why, and you cant justify that (I was totally cool tho, You didnt need to bots) save that for your around the table staff chat. Never ever say that to a customer again! Other than that service was great. Totally worth the $$$$.

Negative experience: The assistant/reception is absolutely rude and should not be commenting with her opinions without being asked! This has not only happened with me but with a family member who attended also. Please get this lady some training on proper manners and work ethic, horrible experience because of her.
Negative experience: My 1st visit to Mahu Dental. I went in because i had a tooth ache and was in pain. Dentist did an xray and pulled my wisdom tooth out. My face and mouth swell up and was numb for the rest of day/night. Next day round lunch time till now im still in pain. The dentist had pulled the wrong tooth I am now back where i started. Still in pain.
Negative experience: Not impressed with the report from my mum after her appointment with the dentist. Unfortunately she was so upset with how the assistant dentist made her feel, being rude to my mum and her comments on the condition of her teeth. Unprofessional and not a trait to have when working with people.
