Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best dental experience I've ever had. I had the pleasure of being looked after by Ryan and Zoe at Art of Dentistry in Upper Hutt, and they were simply fantastic. From start to finish, the communication was clear, professional, and reassuring. They made me feel completely at ease, relaxed, not nervous at all, which is rare for a dental visit! Hats off to the team for their exceptional care. I highly recommend Ryan, his calm manner and expertise made all the difference. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: Such a great practice. The receptionists never fail to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I've had nothing but great service from them. I have noticed that they seem to be getting some abuse from others for situations entirely outside of their control, which is really sad to see. Keep up the great work ladies :D

Negative experience: I recently called up to inquire about a pricing for a service but not looking to book just yet, the receptionist "H" was rude. She seemed annoyed I was even asking then said it's $... amount we aren't taking on new clients. I said I was a client already then proceeded to say "well when was the last time you saw us" I said I've been with yous since I was a kid the last time I was here was just over a year & half ago". It felt like attitude the whole time I did keep saying I wasn't looking to book which came across like I was wasting time just asking for a price then she did mention you need to be referred from the densit before you can get a clean then told me you'd have to wait 6 months which was fine. I was just really disappointed after going to this dentistry for so long, I haven't had this experience till now just from a call.

Fantastic experience: This really is a great dental operation. I am a reluctant patient and immediately felt at ease with the warmth and professionalism from all staff that have greeted me upon arriving for appointments. The pricing is reasonable and they have many flexible appointment arrangements. The dentists whom I have seen have been great at explaining procedures and creating a relaxed environment while undergoing some pretty challenging procedures. I highly recommend Art of Dentistry.

Positive experience: Had a sore tooth when eating, I have a great fear of the dentist however was going away on holiday in a couple of days so wanted to get it sorted. Frank was my dentist, he was calm told me he would sort me out for my trip, he has a reassuring manner. I had numbing cream and injection which I hardly felt. I left the appointment pain free but numb, and would happily go back to see Frank again, in-fact already book my next appointment. Thank you for being so kind to someone who was so terrified.

Fantastic experience: Had to have a tooth removed by Malcom at 36 weeks pregnant. Him and his assistant bent over backwards to get it sorted, even booking me in after hours so i wasn't in pain too long. The extraction itself was smooth despite it being a difficult tooth to remove. Thank you very much team . Third great visit now (considering your dentists :p).

Positive experience: I have always had good experience, but appointments are so far out it feel like you are going to upper hutt health center. This isnt based off staff but time frames. As appointments are like 2 to 3 weeks wait.

Fantastic experience: Always have amazing service here. David is such a great dentist, tells you how it is and explains everything making sure you understand. 10/10 have recommended so many people to come here.

Fantastic experience: As soon as I walked into the dentist the receptionist was welcoming and helpful she also was able to fit me in pretty much straight away. My Dentist was David and he was awesome he talked me through everything he was doing( filling in my front chipped tooth) as he was doing it. I can see why he comes highly recommended. No telling me I need this and that done(even though I do) he just went straight to fixing my tooth and that's that. I definitely recommend Art of Dentistry and David he did a awesome job.

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, from the ladies on reception to the dentists themselves. I see Bronwyn who is the best dentist ever, i have a phobia of dentists and i find her very calming. Very reasonably priced too.

Negative experience: I don't agree with the policy to permanently ban patients who have missed only a few appointments due to unforseen/reasonable circumstances. I returned from a family funeral and found I had been permanently ban. I went in for an urgent appointment, now two years later, to be told I'm still 'black listed' from three missed appointments and owing money (which It was clarified that I infact did not owe any money).

Fantastic experience: My 10 year old Son had a fall from his scooter and chipped his front tooth. We were able to get an appointment within a few hours, and the entire process was excellent. Malcom attended to my son and was able to sort him out albeit my son is not the easiest to work with. Well done to the entire Team at Art of Dentistry. I highly recommend their services. Fantastic experience: Best dam dentist around. My dentist Tristan is amazing. I have a fear of the sounds of drills, and needles (I'm a psychiatric nurse too so yea i ahe anxious with big needles)but the reassurance and care provided was %. It's been well over 10-17yrs + I haven't been to a dentist but thankful I have. Cannot recommend this place enough....Thank you thank you so much the staff of Art of Dentistry.. I'll be back for more...

Fantastic experience: I have been here 4 times and have loved each visit. I am quite anxious and terrified of the dentist due to past experiences but this place puts all my worries at ease. My teeth were not in the best shape but david treated me in the most professional and polite manner and I never felt judged at all. I had all my consults, fillings and wisdom teeth done by david mckelvey who is highly skilled and always strives for the best results. The reception staff are also very friendly and welcoming to all. I highly recommend this practice and David to anyone looking for a dentist that is calm, patient and full of positivity. I now no longer fear walking into a dentist office because of my great experiences here at Art Of Dentistry. Totally worth the drive to upper hutt

Fantastic experience: I was recommended to Art of Dentistry and visited today for the first time for a checkup and clean. I was blown away by the professionalism of Malcolm; he took the time to answer all my questions and was incredibly informative. The pricing at Art of Dentistry is very reasonable too. I’m very pleased to have made the switch to this dentist and will continue going from now on.

Fantastic experience: I used to be scared of the dentist growing up and only go if I really needed too. I recommend booking an appointment with David. He is friendly and made me feel comfortable when I was getting all my wisdom teeth out and I stopped feeling anxious before the minor surgery. You don’t have to pay in a lump sum either, you can just pay it off. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Would never really write a bad review but i have found that the customer service here was not the greatest, I was pretty much banned from booking here again because I missed one appointment accidentally then to be told I can’t reschedule as I’ve missed 6 appointments? One, i don’t recall that as it would have been on my parents behalf as i said to the lady I am now old enough to be making these appointments by myself so I don’t see how it can be my fault that my parent failed to take me to the dentist. Two I find it a bit odd how I was never sent a text or call to ask where I was or why I didn’t attend the appointment as that is usually the case with other practices ( in my experience) . I was then told that I’ve apparently made more than one appointment in the past couple years and have not attended which I know for a fact is not true on my behalf ( obviously it was done automatically), i then thought maybe they’ve booked it and told me to attend through a phone number or mail which I told the lady that the address and phone number were about 4 years old (which was another reason I was booking so I could change my details) and I wouldn’t even know if they were mine and in saying that I was 14 years old then and not exactly capable of doing those things by myself so again that would be on my parents behalf, when I did ask if I could please create my own account that hasn’t been messed up by my parents she said no because that is the policy which of course is fair enough but i don’t believe it is with my circumstances. I found this very upsetting and disrespectful as many of my family and friends have always gone to this dentist and I would have always recommended to others.

Fantastic experience: I had not been to the dentist for decades, but broke a tooth. I expected the worst, but got the best. Thank you Tristan for your friendly professional manner and excellent work. Saved the tooth and its better than it was before it broke. And not as expensive as I was expecting either. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I don't generally write negative reviews, but I feel it's necessary in this instance to warn people about this dentist. The Dentist, Frank Van Den Borst showed absolutely no interest in my case and failed to notice a loose molar tooth and other tooth damage. He simply referred me to a surgeon, who was surprised to receive my case since he does not deal with the issues I was experiencing. Frank Van Den Borst of the Art of Dentistry has caused my jaw and tooth pain to be prolonged for many days by his disinterest and lack of attention to detail. My advice is to go to a different dentist.

Negative experience: I didn’t have a bad experience everyone was lovely but I would recommend getting second opinions. I went in with a really bad toothache and I was told the dentist could pull it out or go to see a specialist which was expensive $5k plus. I went back to my other dentist in Naenae for a second opinion, because they have all the medical technology they gave my tooth a 3D scan and the dentist was able to save my tooth cost me $600 in the end.

Fantastic experience: I've been getting my teeth serviced every year by Kelly Reid (dental hygienist) before that maybe 10-15 years apart, I'd see a dentist. Never knew what a dental hygienist was until I got in her chair. I started going about 7 years ago. I got a tooth removed by Frank the owner yesterday and a tooth filled in, it was an easy process that hurt more in my head leading up to it. Very professional and quality service by both of them. I recommend this place highly

Fantastic experience: I was terrified of what I would hear at my first check up in four years. I have just been to see Frank for the first time, and I don't know why I was so worried. He was professional and thorough, and gave me better news than I was expecting. I do not feel scared about going back.

Fantastic experience: I don't review often. But I definitely want to give Art of dentistry a great review. Took care of my broken tooth checked and cleaned my teeth. Minimal discomfort involved. Very friendly staff here. Frank the dentist is great!!! Got my teeth sorted on a Sunday and the price was very reasonable too. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service A+++, I made contact with art of dentistry to book in an appointment for a very painful tooth ache and the lovely receptionist booked me in straight away later that day they removed my wisdom tooth quick smart and pain free. I can’t thank David enough he was really amazing and so friendly.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous and friendly service. I had a toothache and called them early Saturday to see if a dentist is available. They booked me in at 2:30pm even though they close at 2pm and I wasn't a regular patient of theirs. The lady who called me back said that they will take emergency cases. The x-ray did not show anything but Gary, the dentist had an inkling what was causing the pain. He gave me the option to see how it goes within the next few days and we set up another appointment for Thursday. However, my toothache got worse over Sunday. On Monday, I called them to she if I could see a dentist urgently. The earliest they could give me was Tuesday afternoon but they did say they will call me if there was any cancellations. About an hour later, they called me to say that they have managed to get Gary to start his shift earlier so he could see me (his day was to start at 12pm and they have booked me for 11:30am). What great service! Thank you so much to Janet and Shani for accommodating me and also to Gary for having to start work earlier. I totally recommend this dentist and have already moved my daughter's annual check-up to Art of Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Art of Dentistry today. From the moment through the door and are greeted by the lovely receptionist, everything is welcoming and well organised. David the dentist was careful and efficient. Kelly the hygienist was thorough too, and I left feeling great with a clean bill of health and a very clean mouth. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic experience: David McKelvey consulted with me and at a later date removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth. I loved his warm, professional attitude and the confidence he gave me going ahead with my surgery. He helped me feel relaxed and at ease. He did a fantastic job despite two of my teeth being impacted and needing bone involvement. I am 4 days post surgery healing well and feeling great.

Fantastic experience: Having been some time since my last dentist visit, I finally gave in. Much to my surprise, the folks at Art of Dentistry made it a VERY easy experience. With quite a bit of catching up to do, I've seen both Gary VandenBorst and Kelly Reid, and found them both to be genuinely professional, comforting and friendly. I can't recommend these guys enough. If you've been putting off getting a checkup or looking into a problem because of previous less-than-wonderful dental experiences, then Art of Dentistry is your answer!

Negative experience: Was told that my gum infection was cleared up and that I should have no trouble going overseas. Ended up having emergency work while travelling Europe. Now have a large scar on my gum due to surgery to remove the dead gum tissue caused by my infection. Very poor standard of care.

Fantastic experience: Dr David McKelvey was excellent. Can't recommend Art of Dentistry enough. After hours didn't cost extra. For someone who struggles at the dentist this was a struggle free experience.

Negative experience: Pretty average as far as dentists go. I got there at 10:20 and didn't even get seen until 10:40. Then I got given an anaesthetic and was kept waiting for at least another 20-30 mins when the dentist went to see another patient next door at the same time (??). When I finally got seen the dentist insisted on talking non stop and by the time I left I was sore and exhausted. Won't be going back here again.

Fantastic experience: After visiting numerous Wellington dentists over the years, I was blown away with the professionalism and authentic friendliness I got from the people at the Art of Dentistry. Not being overly keen to ever visit a dentist, I had a filling done by Gary and was truly impressed by his professionalism and the way he matched the filling colour to my tooth, after which one could truly not tell that there was even a filling in the tooth. Fantastic service from a fantastic team of people who clearly love their jobs. Definitely my dentist of choice.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding! I have a phobia towards dentists and out of pure necessity had to make an appointment. Haven't been to a dentist in over 10 years! I scoured the internet and did some background work on who had the best reviews and chose Art of Dentistry. Bronwyn is absolutely wonderful as well as her assistant; didn't take long for them to put me at ease (no thumping heart this time) and wow; Bronwyn did a fabulous job on my tooth! Price wise, huge front filling and absolutely reasonable price - well worth it and highly recommend to any and everyone. I'm going back to have everything done ... two appointments already booked :)

Positive experience: I visited these guys for the first time in Oct 2017. I hadn't been to a dentist for a couple of years. They were in a convenient location, had reasonable prices, and bets of all for me, were open evenings and weekends. Nice art on the walls, they saw me pretty much on time, and did a good quick professional job.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic service. The people that work here are really easy to communicate with. Im always a little worried about going to the dentist. Not only because of what I remember as a kid going to the murder house but I have heard horror stories about the Invoice that people get at the end of treatments. Well not here. Im always well informed about the treatment and the cost beforehand. I have to say these guys are fantastic. Im made to be as comfortable as I can be and the price is always fair.
