Negative experience: This is a review for the service last year when I had a check up, X ray and clean up done. Previously, I was a Lumino customer at a smaller town when I loved further down south, and the pricings have been affordable with a welcoming reception and dentistry. Let me start with the good before I explain why this is rated one star. First of, dentists and team when I came in have been very welcoming. Last year in 2024 (I believe it was around June or May), the Asian lady who checked me and did the X ray up was lovely. She asked me if I like to have cleaning done, I said yes. All was well. Here's the bad part and why it put me off from coming back ever again, hence the one star rating. From beginning to after my dentist appointment, your receptionist lady was not welcoming at all, she looked miserable. No hello, no how are you, just looked up at me from her phone use like a teenage girl who is distracted by a phone, as if waiting until I say something and just my appointment, gave me the form to write down, and that was that - really not what a customer wants to come in to being the first thing to see and experience. I value good first impressions of businesses, unfortunately the worst thing was, when I finished and was about to pay she did not tell me the price at all, sure maybe I should've asked but I didn't think of it because it was under $200 back in a small town at another Lumino, plus doctor's there increased price range along with other places being small towns struggled with businesses out there, and yeah she just turned on the EFTPOS and it was almost $400! For just a cleaning, X ray and check up?! I was shocked, and I was like "That is very much over priced, is there any other options." And she was like I had to pay in full, I had to call someone else for help and after that all was paid but then later on found out that you guys had afterpay which I would've been able to use without disturbing a close relative! She was very rude, no apologies for any inconveniences just "pay up" attitude. Whoever this lady was around May or June last year, she was a Kiwi just like me if it ever helps but never got her name. In conclusion, as a customer first and last time I ever have my own personal business there, the reason I didn't make a review at the moment it happened because I wanted to find another dentist first, in case of risk of conflict, and now that I have my business elsewhere I am confident in sharing how I truly felt at your practice. If things are better now, that's good, but I have a more affordable place that costs under $200 for X ray, cleaning, plus a check up is free! Needless to say, bad first impression of a new dentist practice, but one of the most nicest dentists I've ever met who had my teeth done, such a shame that I've been ripped off completely and had poor customer service from your receptionist. All the best, hope things turn around but sorry to say you guys lost a customer after I left your premises last year. Good day.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of being treated by Sahar today. The service she provided was incredible. I had a wisdom tooth removed and as crazy at it sounds, it was one of the most amazing visits I have had at the dentist. The thought of getting a tooth pulled was worse than actually getting it done. It was quick, simple and she made me feel comfortable and at ease. I am so grateful to have found Sahar and hope that I am able to have her as my dentist ongoing. Could not recommend highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I visited Lumino Mount Eden Village Dental recently, and I was astonished by the professionalism, expertise, and empathy of Sahar as my dentist. She explained the options and procedure thoroughly and in detail, making it easy to understand what to expect (I needed a Molar root canal treatment in this case). She is very patient, understanding, and absolutely professional in her field. The best dentist I have ever visited. Usually, dental environments can be stressful and uncomfortable in my opinion, but you will be amazed at how warm-hearted yet expert Sahar is. ✨✨

Negative experience: Thank you for making me cry today Lumino I was expecting a charge of $69 for a new patient and it cost over $200 for a 15 minute check up. Please have transparency about your pricing before appointments so your clients know. It was my mistake the deal didn't apply but price transparency would greatly improve your service

Fantastic experience: Nate Chong provided an amazing service. He explained everything really well and explained the treatment options clearly. The technology used also gave a good picture of my oral health. I would definitely recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Had 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled out by Don Macallister. Was such a good experience, especially considering how much pain I was in that whole week due to impacted tooth pain but the staff and Don made me very comfortable and the extraction went swimmingly. My first time getting an extraction too so I was elated. The dental assistant was so nice and made sure I made it safely back to my car when my husband picked me up while the sedation was still wearing off. Thank you . Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had my first dental appointment here today for a general checkup with Dr Nate Chong. Great dentist who made me feel at ease throughout the whole appointment. I will definitely be coming back here in 12 months.

Negative experience: Deadly expensive

Fantastic experience: Have been here twice now as they provide an awesome service. Dr. Trisha is highly knowledgeable and knows what she's doing and is easy to speak to. Not only do they treat you well, they advise you with good knowledge as to prevent future issues with your teeth. The staff are very accommodating and make it easy to get in and get out. This makes me comfortable in having yearly check-ups with the dentist! Will definitely recommend you to my friends & family if they are looking for good dental care.

Fantastic experience: I'm currently doing my invisalign with Dr Tisha Yang and Sharmila. Both ladies are friendly, gentle and patient with me. I feel comfortable every time when I'm in the clinic because I know I'm in good hands. And my Invisalign results are promising. Would recommend them to my friends and anyone who is looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: I'm one of those people that isn't that keen on going to a dentist and tends to put it off until it's really needed. Well.. at least I used to be... I got my tooth repaired by Dr Tisha Yang and the whole procedure was fast and expertly done. I came away from the appointment with a much better view on tooth care and maintenance solely because of the great experience I had. I'll be returning more regularly.

Fantastic experience: These guys have been my main dentists since I moved to Auckland. I am a nurse and can appreciate good medical care when I see it. My dentist is Dr Tisha Yang who gives excellent advice based off recent up to date research, and is very thorough in her assessments and care. Can tell she genuinely cares about her patient’s dental health and well-being. The practice is also very clean and friendly in general and always feel welcome.

Fantastic experience: Had a brilliant experience with Tisha for a check up after a very long time. My teeth feels so sparkly and clean. While some issues were identified, Tisha explained the complications I have easily and patiently. She was so prompt in emailing the dental surgeon as well. The place was easy to find and the interior was clean and professional. Taking my husband for a clean next time!

Fantastic experience: My teeth have never felt better! Thanks to Tisha I was able to get a proper scanning, clean and identified why my teeth is causing me problems. I highly recommend her and am definitely coming back to get my teeth fixed. :) Note: My previous dentist did not make a claim to my broken tooth due to sports injury and Tisha has gone out of her way to do this for me. Fantastic experience: Always been afraid to go to the dentist due to painful experiences when younger . Been coming here 6 years and even after 2 extractions and a root canal , have never felt the slightest pain , in fact sometimes start to fall asleep . The only painful thing are Keith's corny jokes .

Fantastic experience: After moving to Auckland three years ago I had trouble finding a good dentist. I visited three for a first appointment only but after meeting Dr Sahar I felt confident to go ahead with some much needed dental treatment. That work has now been completed and I have felt very satisfied with all aspects of her manner and competence. In particular I have valued the way she respected my financial circumstances and was willing to prioritize and adjust the work accordingly. Throughout the course of treatment she was very efficient but I also felt she respected my wishes and cared for me as a whole person. I feel very grateful to have found such an excellent dentist.

Fantastic experience: My first visit with Dr Sahar today. She was beyond amazing! I've not had the best experiences with my past dentist, and Dr Sahar made me feel so comfortable, checking I was okay throughout the appointment. Not so scared to go to the dentist anymore, and will be highly recommended my friends and family go to see her.

Positive experience: just came back to see Michael Burns to get my tooth extracted.paid 300 dollars, quite painful as expected. he was quite friendly.was advised not to drink hot water in the first hour, and eat on the other side, and watch out for dry socket. didnt explain to me what is dry socket. how do i watch out for it if i dont even know what that means? had to use google and youtube to find that out. apprently it is when the blood clot in the socket dislodged after tooth extraction due to drinking with a straw,or eating hot food or drink in the first few days.. i was only advised not to drink hot water in the first hour by Michael,and i think got dry socket as i drank hot water and the blood clot is gone left only with a hole in the gum in the evening, as a result getting more pain. i have paid 700 dollars for 2 visits for a dental exam, filling and extraction,not mentioning taking time off work as well. hopfully the pain will go away, not have to take time off to come in again

Negative experience: Just want to save people's time don't waste your time. As a potential new customer I was just told can't see hygienist for weeks and by that I mean considerably longer than two weeks away ie month+. They clearly feel they have enough work. Go somewhere else

Fantastic experience: Had two wisdom teeth extraction under IV sedition a month ago, really nice surgeon and nurses. I wouldn’t believe I had my teeth extraction if I didn’t see two teeth on my hand and two holes in my mouth. Personally, I didn’t feel any pain. Professional work worth the price.

Fantastic experience: The price to get two upper wisdom teeth extracted at Mt Eden Dental Surgery nearly gave me a heart attack, but I would gladly pay it all over again for how well everything went. I had IV sedation during surgery which meant I slept while both teeth were being extracted. After doing the right tooth, they woke me up to see how I was doing before starting on the left. The nurses had to remind me repeatedly me to stop talking about random things I was thinking about. This, to me, is a pretty good demonstration of how I was in no pain whatsoever during the surgery. I took painkillers for the rest of the day of the surgery, but did not need them after that. Three days later I can chew things with less pain than I had before surgery! On top of being very technically competent, Don McAllister and the nurses also have really good bedside manner which comes in handy if you have a minor freak out when the drugs start to hit you. It's like being at your grandparents house and you get the feeling that you're the favourite grandchild, they'll never tell you you're the favourite, but you know you are. I'd pay two-and-a-half grand all over again for that.

Negative experience: Recommend to avoid this dentist,very distrusting behavior.Greet you with smiles,charge you a fortune and do not standby there service when challenged.X rays taken was of poor quality and could not be used by a specialist and had to pay fpr x rays again. If you want trouble free dental all conducted in reasonable professional manner with the ability to go back for follows up without any hassle.Recomend seeking alternatives with modernised equipment.
