Fantastic experience: I went to gentle l dental over eight years ago had a good nine years without been back gentle dental was great back then as I have alot of anxiety and they helped me to over come that. I just went back recently to the same great care and service dealing with the anxiety before treatment is the best outcome you can get thankyou so much I recommend gentle dental to anyone that wants special quality care

Positive experience: Really nice people. Receptionist treated me so nicely. Dentist was fantastic. He spoke to me like I was a real person & in language I could understand. Didn't try to confuse me with medical terminology. Cost wasn't that bad too. Definitely GENTLE Dental.

Fantastic experience: Last minute hygienist appointment as someone had cancelled. Gentle and painless. Definitely coming back.

Negative experience: Please, shop around. The practice is expensive and not worth the issues that comes after the treatment.

Fantastic experience: The team really went over and above, entertaining my toddler during two appointments! Everyone is so lovely and friendly, just super accommodating.

Fantastic experience: Called last week regarding a problem tooth and had an appointment booked immediately. Unfortunately, the pain got worse, but i was able to book an emergency appointment. I was then met by the most professional and understanding staff, and the entire procedure to remove my tooth was painless, and they offer Afterpay, so it isn't as big as a hit on your wallet afterward Look forward to returning again to get more work done

Fantastic experience: The whole team at Gentle Dental are incredible. The friendly way you are welcomed to the clinic is just the beginning. Richard is the best dentist I've ever seen, hands down! He is calm, patient, thorough and friendly. I feel well informed about my dental health. He delivers his advice and dental solutions in a way that makes me feel like I have full ownership of my decisions. I like that. 5 stars! I highly recommend.

She did a fantastic job on my teeth and has a knack with people and making them feel comfortable. Will recommend her to all my family and friends! A+ customer service

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Gentle Dental! Super friendly, welcoming and professional. They are even baby and child friendly (which other dentists were not). Check out the receptionists cuddling my Bub whilst I got a full examination! They made a scary experience a relief and I am looking forward to going back.

Negative experience: I had $16,000 dollars worth of dental treatment from this charlatan in Nelson and the work is already falling apart! He has a Coven of Witches that are rude and vindictive working for him as well! DO NOT USE THIS CHARLATAN!! Find a dentist with INTEGRITY if you can (impossible as that might seem). Absolute disgrace of a Dentist that is neither Honest or Gentle!

Fantastic experience: The team at Gentle Dental are amazing! I have felt so welcome every time I come in from the front desk to the wider dental team. The time, patience and care I have been given over the last year and a bit has meant the world & enabled me to actually come to the dentist. Even with the unexpected and sometimes tricky circumstances, the thoughtfulness of checking in, accommodating and making sure the procedures are as painless as possible & that I'm doing ok. I've only trusted one other dentist in my life, and I never thought I could replace him but Richard and Molly and the whole teamare absolutely beautiful people. Yesterday I had a tooth extraction by Charlie, again, absolutely brilliant!! He was reassuring, talked me through the whole procedure and made the whole experience a good one. Thanks to Maxine and the Team on the front desk, always friendly and helpful. Negative experience: Do not go to this dentist! They will provide sub par treatment and then not stand behind their work. Don't waste your time or money here.

Positive experience: Richard and Molly make a great team who took things gently and were happy to proceed at a pace I could cope with after many years of avoiding the dentist completely. To start with I was very embarrassed to admit I hadn't been for so long and felt like that small,terrified child at the mercy of the Dental Nurse again but Richard was very understanding and non-judgmental and made sure the treatment was virtually pain free!

Fantastic experience: I have had major anxiety of the dentist ever since i can remember, and avoided even the simplest of checks ups for years, until I ended up breaking a tooth eating a scone! I chose Gentle Dental after reading reviews from similar anxious people, and I was intrigued by the use of The Wand. Well, WOW, it is truly MAGICAL! I don't feel a thing and it's become a total game changer to my anxieties! From my very first consultation, Richard showed a genuine interest in helping me overcome my nerves, and has worked so patiently with me over the last year to build trusting and comfortable experiences. He is happy to go at my pace, and always makes sure I am OK throughout my procedures. I can't thank him, his assistant Molly, and the team enough for their care and compassion towards me, especially recently when he treated me for pain post wisdom teeth extraction. Today I had my third filling in a year without hesitation or a single tear! A space I never thought I'd get to in such a short time. "Tooth be told, you are the best of the best!"

Fantastic experience: Charlie was exceptional, great humour and great music while he works. It’s always a daunting prospect going to a dentist but he made it a great experience. Constantly letting me know what he is doing and why made me feel as though he knew exactly what he was doing which has built a great level of trust. I have already booked in another checkup for in 6 months. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing work done

Negative experience: Nothing Gentle about these guys, slapped me with a 300 dollar bill to scratch my teeth with a needle then give me a lecture, sorry didn't realise I was trying to pay you to help me out! then slapped me with another huge bill for a follow up. I asked about a government dental claim they botched the paper work and now have to somehow find the money (enough for a car) didn't relize having pain free teeth was a wealth issue in this country.

Fantastic experience: As a victim of domestic violence since I was a toddler and right through into my 30s, my self-esteem has been very low due to shame, rotten and loose teeth and in general just not confident enough to take care of my mouth or ask for help. Having to do something at the age of 46 took me through the doors of Gentle Dental in Nelson. The team there are so kind and when I left after my first appointment, I sat in the car and cried my heart out because after meeting Richard and his team of kind caring ladies, I knew that my shame was something of the past and i was going to get the help to move forward physically and also mentally. I am still a client there after more than a year and I cannot recommend these guys enough if you have had a traumatizing past. Now my teeth and mouth are on their way to being 100 percent better than the day I first walked in. It's OK to be scared, and it's OK to cry. But don't let your teeth be the reason you miss out on so much in your life. Gentle Dental have given me a chance of living a life while holding my head up high. Fantastic experience: Richard and his team at Gentle Dental Nelson are really awesome they make you feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you walk in the doors from the receptionist through to the dental work i have had done. I haven't been to a dentist for over 15 years. Richard had to do a lot of work on on my teeth through this whole process Richard and his team keep me informed what they were doing and asked me weather i had any pain that's to the wand there was no pain. Fantastic experience: Wow! What a great team! Being a nervous patient, and not having been to a dentist for around 15 years because of those nerves, I was put at ease by Richard straight away and he went through everything step by step and didn't rush into anything I wasn't ready for. He certainly made me feel like I was in control and I cant speak highly enough of him and his team. My only regret...not going sooner! :)

They really do live up to their name! Fantastic experience: This experience has changed my whole outlook on dental work. I was having trouble with gum disease which was advancing quite aggressively - it was so inflamed and swollen which was painful and humiliating. I was brushing more than twice a day as instructed by a previous dentist but it was only getting worse. Within days of applying the techniques I was shown by Richard, the inflammation of the gums had drastically reduced just as he had promised. It has been literally a life changing experience as I was quite distressed about it and it was effecting my health. I am also super nervous about pain during dental work due to memories of the old dental nurse - this was not an issue at all, Richard and his team literally are "Gentle Dental" - this is an accurate description of a lovely, caring team who will look after you very well. If you have negative feelings or memories stopping you from visiting your dentist - You can do your health a favour and turn this all around with Gentle Dental. Thank You so much you guys. xxx

Negative experience: Only one dentist working, put a crown on that came off the day after, put on again when he knew it wouldn’t stay (which it didn’t). I felt mis-led about treatment options and resented paying for work he must’ve known was unreliable. Assistants were all friendly though.

Negative experience: I fully agree with Mr. Casey. Very unprofessional service and it starts at the front desk. For a start they forgot about their patient, they failed to call us and keep their promise. We had to tell them re required paperwork and we had to teach them how to do it. Also, Dr Amy was quite lazy and didn't issue any detailed report. If you don't ask, you may not find re any details of your treatment. They are kind of very money focused and don't care about the patients. That was our impression after check up and we decided not to proceed with any treatment for a number of reasons. Our advice: shop around!

Furthermore, the pain i had been experiencing in my jaw vanished over night and has never returned since i had the work done. utter bliss !

Negative experience: Please shop around. Amy at gentle dental was probably the worst dentist I've ever been to. No pain management, tries the same failed methods twice in a row rather than learn what didn't work last time, costs a fair bit, doesn't check old notes, and basically charged me $200 for a wiggle and a little polish. Wouldn't recommend, go elsewhere. If I could do 0 stars I would. On the plus side, at least she seems like a nice person.

Fantastic experience: Our new go to dentists. Ours retired so I went to have a broken tooth sorted which had been repaired by others before.. New cap made a different way to avoid a similar result. Excellent. My wife, terrified of needles and dentists had to go. Convinced her to use DG. Amy did the work . My wife was amazed at the painless filling replacement, using the "Wand" system no pain during or after. Excellent.
