Fantastic experience: I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Allen and his technician. My crown filling had fallen off the night before. They scheduled me in early the next morning and had me out of the office fairly quick with advice going forward.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars is not enough, I'd give Allen Hung 10 if I could. I can't speak highly enough of him. My case was traumatic, broken tooth, top jaw at the front! The journey to restoration with an implant is a long one, and from start to finish Allens, care, professionalism, advice and ultimately his work was outstanding. Allen literally gave me my smile back! I have to mention the implant surgeon Nick Cole, in the words of Tina Turner, simply the best. Both of them.

Positive experience: The service was good, I was told that the fees would be 200-250 for cleaning, but one thing I was confused is that the hygienist only cleaned half of my teeth and told me to come next day to clean the other half with 200$ extra charge, she said because I have gum disease. Anyway, it's ok if they helps solve the problem, even if the fees exceeds my budget.

Fantastic experience: I had tooth pain for a week and was putting off going to the dentist as I was very nervous. No need to be nervous at all here / the staff are so wonderful and friendly and Dr Allen is just amazing. He was exceptionally patient with me and took the time to explain everything. I had to have the tooth removed and I felt nothing - the whole procedure was quick, comfortable and easy. They have removed any fear I had about going and am pleased to say I will be going back for regular check ups etc. Thank you team ! :)

Fantastic experience: Dr. Allen Hung was absolutely wonderful to my husband, Steve. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, He’d broken a front tooth while eating breakfast, and had a live nerve exposed. Dr. Allen got him in right away and my husband experienced no pain while Dr. Allen worked on him. We couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Hung!!!

Negative experience: My bridge fell out and in a rush I needed it put back in, and out of all the dentists this place was the cheapest (which is what I needed). The service was good and fast. However 4 months later my bridge fell out again, considering it stayed on for YEARS before that, I thought it was reasonable to ask for retreatment with a lesser fee. Unfortunately the answer was no, saying they gave warning such as bleeding gums (don't know how that's relevant to the strength of cement), and which side I ate on (which I was). I understood it wouldn’t last as long but considering it was only 4 months, I don't think it was an unreasonable ask to get a lesser fee, only to get a no unless I wanted to pay in full.

Fantastic experience: I was in a great deal of pain and sleep-deprived when I arrived at AE Ponsonby Dental. Alan and Liz welcomed into their practice and after clarification of possible costs, my treatment (a major tooth extraction) was carried out with aplomb and in good spirits. The bill ended up being cheaper than the one originally quoted, something I am deeply grateful for. I will now be making AE Ponsonby Dental my go to practice whilst in New Zealand. Negative experience: Gave me the wrong information about my tooth which other dentists second opinions claimed that it was completely wrong diagnosis. Extremely rude service from the receptionist as well.

August 2022; I am still with Dr. Allen Huang and the team, and they are still as amazing and fantastic, can do will do, friendly , fair pricing and super professional. Then new rooms are fantastic, the welcome is honest and there is ample parking once you manoeuvred your way up the ramp. Their hours are really patient friendly. Still 5 STARS , HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL TEAM. Ernie_ NZ --------------------------------- I had a crown fall off. I normally go to my dentist overseas do to my work commitments and have been looking for a local dentist as I live in Auckland. The receptionist was very friendly and accomodating as it was an ad-hoc 7pm 'please help me' booking. Dr. Allen Hung very professional, excellent workmanship and caring Dentist. Furthermore the price they charged was 100% reasonable and less than I know other Dentists charge. (If , and only if you can get a booking with other Dentists). Highly recommend and this is my new go to Dentistry and local Dentist. Very happy.

Fantastic experience: Allen Hung is the most caring, kind and honest dentist I have ever come across in my many years of going to different dentists. I originally visited after going to different dentists, all who have told me that I must get a root canal done. I went to Ponsonby A&E for a root canal treatment (which alongside the crown and everything, would have costed around $3000). Allen took a look at my tooth and concluded that the root canal treatment would simply be a waste of money as my tooth was wiggling and would have to be extracted in around a year's time anyways. Therefore, the root canal treatment would have been a waste of time and money. I ended up getting my tooth extracted for $300, so Allen gave up the chance to make more money from me (like the other dentists). Throughout the extraction, he was very precise, careful and gentle. He made sure that I was comfortable and tried not to hurt me as much as possible. When he did the injections I couldn't feel a thing - usually it hurts a lot at other dentists! I was very impressed and happy, and I will definitely be coming back here in the future. The receptionist was also very lovely, everyone here is so nice, 5 stars and I would definitely recommend everyone to come here in the future!!

Fantastic experience: We went there on a Sunday at 6pm (called before for availability) for an emergency and even though they were booked for the day the doctor treated my partner after hours and the receptionist Cleo was lovely. Great service.

Fantastic experience: Allen Hung is fantastic dentist - always gentle, and generous with good advice on keeping my teeth clean and healthy. I've never had such clean teeth and I'd recommend him to anyone! He also did an extraction for me once and it was perfect – tidy and no pain.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sony removed one of my wisdom teeth yesterday and made sure I was comfortable during the procedure. Unfortunately the procedure was more complicated than we both expected but she was very patient and tried to make it as pain free as possible. I was happy with how professional it was and that they even gave me a follow up call today to make sure I was ok. Her assistant was very polite and caring too. Thank you guys so much

Fantastic experience: Had a wisdom tooth extracted today, i don't really like dental stuff but was in pain and needed this sorted before the weekend as i could hardly chew. friendly reception lady & Dr P.S Sony explained the treatment, walked me through the x-ray and dental procedure as this was my first major tooth extraction. I took the time out of my day to write something nice because they both were kind and professional! Thanks

Fantastic experience: I've seen Allen Hung for quite a few procedures now and after my second visit my fear of dentist had decreased drastically because of the way I was treated and that I felt he made sure I wouldn't feel pain. Even with having teeth surgically removed I was left pain free and during procedures I'm always asked if I'm ok. I travel 40km from home to come here as they're the only dentist I trust. They will also see you with a short amount of notice (today I rang and I have an appointment for tomorrow) not like other dentist where there is a 7 day + wait. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Not an emergency dentist although claims to be. Unable to provide assistance except during business hours and maybe until 6-7 pm but very reluctant to do that.

Negative experience: Ponsonby Dental made every excuse not to see me as a patient because of my international health insurance. Short story, they're to busy to deal with single visits. If your traveling abroad don't bother with them as you will be considered an inconvenience. Apparently I was told by them "it takes to long to be reimbursed by insurance agency for routine dental procedures costing $120." Fair enough.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend these people, Kelvin and his team were fantastic. Totally pain free, wonderful bedside manner, and took the time to explain everything before and after my tooth extraction (which was out of hours for ever other dentist i called for my painful condition).

Negative experience: Don't go here if you are kinda anxious about dentists. Their apathy will make it worse.
