Dentists on Birkenhead

Negative experience: Totally disappointed. Wasted my day and 1hrs drive, although receptionist was really nice. I have been seen by so called Dr pearl Moruti. She is not a doctor only technician. Ruined my whole experience, Haven't seen unexpirenced dentist in my life than her, She doesn't know what to recommend for patients, all was concern time and money.. My whole mouth was open for 15mins she keep saying i didn't see the other tooth how hard it is to check. 5 inch space. Consult your patients honestly recommend them what treatment is best and sustainable. Most of the dentists offer free consultation so patients will know about conditions. My scaling only half done, polish zero!!! All questions were ignored by arrogance. Please dnt waste your money and time at this place..

Negative experience: Had my root canal done good work. Tooth itself is a 1outta 5 is a 2 as i was told my tooth had to be left the way it is a big bolg hanging out with gaping between food easily gets stuck between.... $2k for treatment. Good friendly welcoming with Beautiful recieption Lady and dentist but work wasnt up to my expection by Dentist Cheers.

Fantastic experience: As a new client I highly recommend Dr Shadi my experience has been so greatfully appreciated as I am so scared to have work done. Dr Shadi and her dental assistant were amazing, very calming, caring and gentle. Best dentists I have been too.

Now Goran is my main dentist, he is very understanding, patient and does a great job! They offer affordable prices and really made sure I was walking away smiling! Thanks so much team! Really really impressed with this dentist and my overall results!

Fantastic experience: Very professional and extremely helpful

Negative experience: I booked an appointment for a quick checkup (for a cavity) for 2:30pm on a weekday. Asked how long it would take, in my experience it takes 5 minutes. They said it would take 30 minutes on the phone. I showed up on time, filled out the form quickly and waited. Was reminded twice that they would be ready soon. This didn't happen and after 27 minutes I no longer had time to wait and had to leave. To add insult to wasting my time they messaged me saying they'd waive a consultancy fee because of their tardiness. Again I've been to two dentists prior to this for quotes on the work and neither charged any "consultancy" fee. If you value your money and time, do not come here find somewhere else.

The receptionist Francesca was lovely & kindly looked after my 3 month old baby while I had my dental appointment & the dentist Shadi did a fantastic job checking & cleaning my teeth. Positive experience: Update: the way this clinic has handled my complaint since posting the below review has been outstanding. Both the receptionist (Francesca) and the owner of the clinic (Goran) contacted me promptly with sincere apologies and an offer of a partial refund. My experience took place a long time ago so this was not expected but greatly appreciated. I have also been advised that the Dentist who performed my original veneer application was a contractor and is no longer working at the clinic. Goran takes pride in his work and his practice, which is reflected in his effort to get in touch with me. For this alone I have changed the star rating and updated my review. Original review: My experience with this clinic was traumatic to say the least. Second opinions on the veneer application I had done at this clinic confirm they were done very poorly. Was also awful having my gums essentially cauterised with scalpel that was held to a mini blowtorch mid process. Honestly considered taking my complaint to some kind of Dentist Association, but it truely has been too much of an ordeal. Overall, had a terrible experience here. Felt taken advantage of, not heard in any way. Will never go back nor recommend to anyone. NB: I have no idea if the dentist who performed my veneer application still works there.

Fantastic experience: I was told by my wife that Dr. Goran doing very good on her filling job, fast and good. I called the reception book for an appointment, but seems Dr. Goran is in holiday, and they put me to Dr. Robyn Cameron. When I first saw her, I can feel her confidence as she has more than 30 yrs experience. The fact is my bet is correct, she is the best dentist I ever met. My tooth did the filling 10yrs ago and seems something wrong inside. Dr. Robyn re-open it and remove all the rust in the very deep side, refill it. Though without anaesthetic, no painful when she did it. I can feel she is really care about the patient rather than other factors. When she was doing the X-ray, she put a reflation plate into my mouth, but I can not hold it in the proper position. She hold it for me and expose herself in the x-ray radiation. The filling is much better than my last experience. That job fill only one time and maybe it is the reason the tooth got decay. Dr. Robyn filled it layer by layer, each layer use blue light to solidify it (I think it’s UV). At least four times, she is quite patient, after the filling she even use floss click between the teeth she fixed, so that I can clean it with floss later by myself, so thoughtful. Her assistant is good, suck all the rust and saliva and no need to spit by myself. Reception is always smiling, all good for this dental clinic. In total, maybe it looks not a very fancy clinic though it is clean and neat, but the most important thing for me is the dentist’s experience, and reasonable price. Must a five stars!

Fantastic experience: I have had amazing dental services experience with Dr Moruti. As someone who have some level of fear going in for a dental review, Dr Moruti understood that, took time to explain things, very gentle, warned me of possible discomfort before it happened so I mentally prepare (including numbing my gums) and overall very professional. No more dental fear for me..

Fantastic experience: My whole experience at Dentists on Birkenhead was just effortless and amazing. Having not been to a dentist in almost 5 years +, I knew I could have serious problems to deal with. From Jess in having such lovely manners in booking my appointment and to the kind receptionist for your grace in helping me with my forms and payment of the appointment. Lastly to Dr Pearl Moruti who was so lovely, attentive and gentle throughout the whole treatment. She answered all my questions, kept me informed throughout the whole procedure and went above and beyond. Plus it wasn't as painful as I thought! Thanks so much Pearl for helping remove any anxiety and helping me start on this healing journey of better oral health. See you in 6 months Dr Pearl and team

Fantastic experience: I have been to so many dentists in my life (cause I have so many issues). I now saw Dr Pearl Moruti for the 3rd time and she always makes feel so comfortable. She is always attentive answering all my questions. Dr Pearl gave me some wonderful suggestions that really helped me with my dental problems. The clinic has a nice environment.

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend this place and Dr Goran who is an amazing dentist. He is very patient and gentle with my two children who are at age 5 and 8 and they always come out of the ordination with a smile on their face. My husband had some serious complications with his teeth as well and with proper approach and advice from Dr Goran he is feeling much better.

Fantastic experience: Can I just say? They made me “love” going to the dentist again. I’ve had awful experiences back in France with such high pain for simple fillings. Today Lily has extracted an infected wisdom tooth and it was gone before I knew it, unbelievable. Enough information was given for after the surgery. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I got a grab-one voucher which I thought was good value. I had read some fairly scary reviews of other dentists with grab-one deals so wasn't sure what to expect here. I hadn't regularly been to see a dentist in many years and I love lollies so I knew I was in for a lot of work. My experience though was fantastic, Goran is a top guy, made me feel very relaxed and is great to chat to. I had one tooth that was very borderline without going the whole hog, route canal, crown etc but he wanted to try and save it, nearly a couple of months later no issues. He could have just said it was shot, had me spend thousands to get get it sorted and I would have been none the wiser. I wonder how many other dentists would be like that? His offsider helping out (sorry can't remember her name!) was awesome, so friendly and proficient. Francesca at the front desk was lovely. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She answers all the questions I have including the important ones the other dental practices wouldn't answer when called - the potential treatment costs. Also, after talking with many others (who go to the dentist a lot more than me!) it seems the price I paid for my work was astonishingly good for New Zealand dental prices. I will definitely be going back regularly to get Goran to help keep me in full dental health, even though it means driving 40 minutes from the other side of Auckland. Very glad I found this place.

Fantastic experience: Excellent all round service and caring group, filled my front nasher with no pain relief..remarkable to say the least, did a major molar filling last week, pain free injection and pain free procedure, did a full mouth manual scrape and polish today, I am very happy thus far, so much so I have awarded them a Crown to do next visit.
