I had bad teeth that caused me ongoing pain day in and day out, due to costs, my teeth were in need and my health matter the most and it goes beyond valuable then money itself, I thank Maryanne and her team for their time, care and their skilfull capabilities for my brand new plates and their patience with me. Fantastic experience: My boyfriend and I have been travelling Nz and ash has experienced wisdom tooth pain and swelling - Stratford managed to fit us in in 24hrs notice and sorted ash with lovely concise and effective care! Many thanks to all at Stratford dental :)

Fantastic experience: An incredible experience in a very tough situation. Despite me doing (what I thought was) all the right things, my 18 month old ended up with terrible hypoplasia/ brittle teeth. Dr Costello gave me a very frank and honest assessment and gave me several options for treatment with pros and cons for each. I really appreciated the direct and factual approach to the information as it made it easier for me to make decisions. It was upsetting to see how bad my child’s teeth were on X-ray and to understand that it would have been causing him considerable pain, affecting his sleep amongst other things. It was not easy for Dr Costello and her amazing team to work with a little guy who was not able to take sedation but they performed their roles with speed and precision. I was in awe at what they were able to achieve and how they approached it with calm professionalism. The moment the procedure was over, my son was happy and chatty- the pain relief was almost instant. His sleep improved rapidly after his visit. Working with small children looks incredibly difficult, but this team does it incredibly well. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Just experienced the most rude customer service over the phone while trying to book my 10month old baby an appointment. Asked for a check up as my son has chipped his tooth and was responded with “are you that worried about it?” Followed by the most arrogant conversation I’ve ever had. The first interaction with a client is so important and this lady has ruined it for me. Would rather travel elsewhere than give this place my money.

Fantastic experience: I've been to Maryanne Costello a handful of times. I have had the absolute best treatment care respect with Maryanne & her staff. Maryanne fixed my denture & also realined my denture so it is very comfortable to wear & I dont have to buy polident or any other product to keep my denture in. I was treated exceptionally well. I found Mayanne & her staff charming polite understanding & a well organized working & warm environment. If I ever need a dentist in the future this is where I will go. I'd love to give you a thousand stars but unfortunately only 5. Thank you so very much. It was a 10/10 experience & one of best I have had. Maryanne I wish you & your team all the best. Negative experience: I have gone to a lot of different dentists over the years and suffer from anxiety and this by far was the worse dentist I’ve ever been to the staff at the counter were really nice, but the dentist was quite rude towards me and seemed like she was getting frustrated for no reason every time I would ask a question she would interrupt me and a lot of the time pull a face. She kept asking if I take different drugs and I kept saying no because I don’t do drugs and she got annoyed at me and continued to be rude and also assumed I didn’t brush my teeth for 3 years when i definitely brushed my teeth a month before and interrupted me saying teeth don’t look like that unless it’s drugs or not brushing for 3 years, she was really rough with my teeth aswell (they also did the X-rays wrong I could tell because as Ive mentioned I’ve been to many dentists and she clearly put the X-rays in the wrong place and got annoyed at me blaming me that I was the problem) i promise you I was crying for most the day I even had mouth full of blood and had to spit out multiple times. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my whole life please go somewhere else because this is a literal nightmare.

Fantastic experience: Have been to Mary Anne twice in recent months. Both times have been excellent. Straight to the point and gets the work done and thank god minimal pain (root canal and a tooth extraction). One of the best experiences I've had with a dentist. Sidenote: I read the notice in the waiting room about service for children, she clearly states how she works. I would've loved to have my children under her care however I cannot because I would want to hold their hands provide reassurance etc. But pays to be aware instead of complaining and leaving a bad review afterwards.

Negative experience: If you are considering taking a child for tooth treatment, this place is awful and disgusting!! Not recommended at all. I took my child just for crowns, but she ended up drilling healthy teeth that she didn't tell me to do it. When my child was afraid and stressed by the drill, I told her to stop, but she ignored me and continued. I had to hold his arms for his safety, and when she finally stopped, the boy's lips and gum were cut and bloody. She blamed everything on my child.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing service, fast and efficient, girls were the best. Never have I had the service and speed we had today. Will b definitely going back. I don’t think I could trust anyone else with hunter’s needs going forward. Thank you again team x

Fantastic experience: MaryAnne did a great job for me. She communicated well and gave good advice. To those who are "spooked" by the fact that she is autistic, maybe you need to gain more understanding of autism. It isn't necessarily a "handicap", unless the person's outlook is "handicapoed", making them pre-judgmental.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Maryann Costelloe an her staff for such amazing care an concern over the history of our dental needs. For me personally she has saved teeth that others would have pulled. For my children that need dental care early she managed their teeth an spaces with a long term plan that worked so well. Recently Maryann gave an amazing gift of dental care that she achieved with much time an hours of work so that I could retain my front teeth. At 56yrs old this was so important in so many ways, physically an emotionally, we all know how your smile is an important part of you, I can now not only eat better an feel better but smile fully an not guarded all the time.They look great an I am so thankful for all the time Maryann put in to achieving this. She is such a understanding, caring an supportive person an amazing dentist, thankyou so much.

Fantastic experience: I have had 3 children go through Mary-Anne over the years, 2 of which are in the spectrum. Mary-Anne is literally the only person I trust when it comes to doing dental work to. Most recently my child that wouldn't even sit in a dental chair was treated and Mary-Anne was absolutely amazing. The way she works with children and having the option of semi sedation makes the dental work so so much easier for all involved. Without that option my children would not have allowed any treatment to occur. Thank Mary - Anne and team youre all amazing

Negative experience: Someone else here in the reviews has stated that they had a bad experience I second that! She should've told me the start that she was autistic but I picked it up on my own and I did not like it at all. She made us very uncomfortable and is not good with people at all. All well to be autistic and working a job, but not when you're dealing with people every day. She tried to tell me what to do with my son and how to treat him while we were there and that just made me angry. She wouldn't even let me speak and kept talking over me. Very jittery and high strung and actually a very uncomfortable person to be around. But the reception ladies were awesome. Very nice. Other that though, worst dentist experience ever.

Negative experience: Maryanne Costello does not even deserve a one star rating. Her treatment of a young person I was supporting was disgusting. Her chairside manner is cruel. The practice Manager apologised to me and started that Maryanne had Autism. A wisdom tooth needed removing, but due to the nasty abrupt way she spoke, the tooth wasn't pulled as I wouldn't allow it. Be wary of this place.

Fantastic experience: Was seen the same day i requested an appointment. Saw Maryanne and she explained everything to me regarding the treatment i was having. I was comfortable with it all. She explains the fees etc and all your options. Made another appointment to see her again. Highly recommend thus dentist.

Fantastic experience: Really amazing with children. My daughter actually came out saying "Best dentist ever!" She took the time to let my daughter know what was going to happen and they provided calming music at her request. Well worth the 2.5 jour drive.

Fantastic experience: Came all the way from wanganui to meet a very lovely team of ladys who help take a couple of teeth out for my 7year old nephew I didn't think things would go as well as it did as i know my boy can be a handful at times but these lovely ladys had it all under control and he was a very happy boy afterward What an awesome team of ladys use are thank use so much

Fantastic experience: Fantastic!! From the receptionist to the dental assistants to Dr Costelloe, everyone was positive, informative and super professional. My daughter arrived anxious and crying. The lovely receptionist spoke to her, told her the facts in a way that soon settled my daughter. Dr Costelloe worked quickly and efficiently, with her dental assistants encouraging my daughter. As a parent it is difficult to take a step back and remain quiet, but the team were excellent at calming my child resulting it being a non traumatic experience for both her and myself. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I get my teeth done here every time I need work done. The team is well experienced, pain is minimal, and the lady’s are lovely! I’m a young client who’s teeth needed a lot of work done to them and Lisa is so intense with making sure every problem in your mouth is resolved, hence why I get my teeth done with her.

Negative experience: Butcher of stratford... Not good for children, words won't explain my hatred towards her for the screams and crys and the Nightmares that the butcher of stratford conflicted on my child
