The Cosmetic Clinic Howick

Positive experience: I was a Clear Skincare Clinic customer for years and loved it, but things went downhill immediately after The Cosmetic Clinic took over. Huge drop in customer service, friendliness non-existent, a backwards step in laser results (is that possible?), and the roughest, quickest hydra facial which was such a disappointment for a $269 treatment. My most recent session the therapist was lovely, hence the 3 stars, but overall not enough for me to want to purchase another package for this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Went to a few other places for a consultation and was still unsure but my friend recommended Bronwen and she put me at ease immediately, she is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and I have full confidence in her. Couldn’t fault my experience at cosmetic clinic at all!

Fantastic experience: The therapists are knowledgeable and have good experience and I have always had wonderful treatments. I’ve never felt pushed into buying products or getting more treatments. Been a regular client for 3years (was Clearskin before)

Fantastic experience: My experience at the comestic clinic howick was amazing! I highly recommend booking with Brooke if you have a dark complexion as she is very careful and educational during the consult. I have been visiting a few sites for my treatment and despite all the girls being lovely, Brooke provided me with the best customer experience. She made me feel super comfortable and was very informative the whole experience!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved this treatment with Lisa. Lisa explained each step and the products being used throughout the treatment. I love how she was so friendly, knowledgeable and always checked to see if I was comfortable. This treatment is definitely one of my favourites, as I love how it makes my skin feel and look. I'm sad that this was my last hydrafacial treatment and would love for this treatment to still be available in the future. Thank you Lisa for always being so amazing! And for always listening to my concerns. Targeting those concerns and for always making me look and feel good!

Negative experience: I did 12 sessions of laser hair removal on upper body (back, chest, stomach, neck and shoulders). I started with 6 and then added 3 + 3. After the first 6 I was expecting some results but every time my hair would grow back to the usual level. The operator after the 6th session said I needed to do at least 8 to start seeing lasting results. After 8 they said I should continue to 12 to see lasting results. After I did all 12 and waited 12 weeks my hair grew back thicker and longer than before first starting. I can see this clearly: 1. On my back I have a tattoo which had no laser. The area around this has little hair growth when compared to the rest of my back 2. My shoulders now have thicker hair than my forearms which was opposite to before the treatment. On my 12th session the operator said it was likely because of my ethnicity even though I have fair skin and dark hair. Multiple other excuses were provided and it was even suggested that I continue. It seemed throughout, the team just made up excuses for lack fo results Another problem was I had maybe 5-6 operators across my 12 sessions, and each had a different way of doing things leading to many patchy areas after each session. After multiple 1000s of dollars I would urge you to really consider using this place. Not sure if I would've gotten the same results anywhere but you may as well try somewhere else. Just a follow-up clear skincare replied over a week ago that they would contact me based on this review…. They have not. They replied 25th August 2023. I am making this update on 3rd September 2023…. Further followup I believe they removed their reply to contact me.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for my UA laser treatment and very happy with my overall experience and result every single time. Lisa and her team are such lovely professionals. I wasn't very sure about doing laser when I came to their clinic as I have never done it before. Her team has thoroughly explained everything I need to know about the treatment, including pre and post laser care. I am very delighted!! I recently tried their Signature Facial and as expected it was divine. Lisa is such an expert! Love the clinic aesthetics and vibe too! Very clean and cozy! Can't wait to try their other treatments..

Positive experience: Have been coming here for laser and am finding great results to my face which I had a lots of facial hair. Recommend to anyone!

Negative experience: Everything was well explained to me however I did not find the therapist as friendly as other clinics I have visited. When I did not purchase a product that they were recommended (post laser) I was told to sign a document that stated that by not buying this product I could have pigmentation or reactions and that they are not liable. While this is their procedure it seemed a bit odd, and there could be a push to buy products. I have had laser at different clinics and I was never asked to sign any paperwork post laser treatment when declining to buy a product.

Fantastic experience: Lisa and her team in Howick are experts in skin care and are all about taking care of you and your skin care needs. Very thorough and knowledgeable and always trying to get the best deal and best possible results for you. No pushy sales tactics just honest consultation and advice. Both my daughter and I will return.

Negative experience: If i could give this place 0 stars i 100% would. Very disappointed in the customer service in this clinic. I got yelled at by one of the workers, in a very condescending way. I would not recommend this place

Fantastic experience: Edit to add an update 9-10 months later. Note: I have PCOS so my hair really bothered me. I'm NZ fair skinned European. A natural dark blonde in terms of colouring. Quite pale skin. Laser is way WAY easier than waxing. Charlotte is awesome and such a friendly, kind person. Update: In the last 8 weeks I have shaved once and that's just because (with three sessions to go of my year pack) I have the odd hair on my leg and I knew I had a laser appointment coming up. Most of my leg hair is gone. Like I can count the ones I have left. I can wear togs without having to worry about my bikini line. I don't really bother to shave my underarms anymore because there is no hair there or it is so fine it isn't an issue. My chin hairs drastically reduced so now they're either blonde or fine black ones. I have far fewer hairs too so again, no longer an issue. I think the main thing is I am no longer self conscious about my hair anywhere because it is either super fine now or gone. I'm pretty happy with how laser has gone. I feel like the reduced hair has made me look younger. Original review: I had my first appointment today. I'll update this review as time goes on (with how many sessions I needed for reduced hair) but I really enjoyed my first session. The technician who did my treatment was so friendly! The laser feels pretty painless on areas like the top of your leg. Where there is darker hair (on the bottom of my leg) it felt like being pinged by a rubber band. I'm a big wuss and it was fine. The machine they use blows cold air which soothes it. Also it feels warm at the same time. Super weird experience. Anyway, I think the friendliness of my technician reduced the pain as well. It was such a pleasant experience overall. A nice team at the Howick clinic.

To the Manager and the lovely Fatima :) I had been visiting the Short street clinic for one whole year, but only now after two appointments at Howick I have experienced exceptional customer service by the team there. They not only deliver professional service and results but they have been the most informative! Their friendly advice, knowledge and professional service over the last few appointments have been top class! I’m not a fan of pushy sales but they seem to make me understandably comfortable! Ive had acne treatments, LED light and full body laser. By far much better service than other clinics , I’ve also been to Laserclinics for a year and I wish I visited clear skin in Howick sooner! I probably would have seen results a lot quicker having been given the right information from the start. Thank you Team!

Fantastic experience: Now been under their care and expertise for 4 months. Fatima is a beautiful soul who is honest, reassuring and kind... that's before we even talk about service! I've never looked back with my decision to have laser pigmentation done and protect my skin and feel the best version of myself. Go on.....book yourself in, you won't regret it.
